The function of education is to think intensively
and to think critically. Intelligence plus character-
that is the goal of true education.
—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Nothing in the world is more dangerous that
sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.
—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I refused to let anyone make me become less
than my capability of being. Only God and I
alone are the judge of that decision.

MY JOURNEY TO BECOMING
A REGISTERED NURSE

Nurses
WHO ARE THEY?
I would like to speak to the question.
Nurses are your front line of defense in the health-care system.
We burn a candle for you twenty-four hours, seven days a week (just for you).
We are your caretakers.
We are your advocates.
We nurture, for that is our nature.
We were especially selected to care for you, by the best of those who have gone before us.
We are the cream of the crop; therefore, it is our privilege to care for you.
We keep you informed of your rights when you are most vulnerable.
Nurses ensure that you are receiving the gold standard of care because it is your birthright.
Most of all, we truly care, and when you become better and win your plight, we rejoice in your delight that you will be able to pursue a healthy life.
