About this ebook

In this season of author Carrie George’s life, she’s drawn to the richness of the Old Testament stories and teachings. Studying the tabernacle has opened her eyes to seeing all the ways Christ is illustrated through every detail.

In The Tabernacle Prayer Pattern, Carrie offers unique insight into the beauty of the design of the tabernacle given to Moses. Each piece of furnishing illustrates spiritual truths through symbolism that reveals Jesus Christ within the details. Colors, fabrics, and the metals used represent a symbol of the Son of God and a reflection or a shadow of the heavenly tabernacle.

Filled with scripture and Carrie’s personal insight, this devotional helps Christians recalibrate their thoughts about prayer and to rediscover the holiness of God. The Tabernacle Prayer Pattern seeks to share the richness of this unique prayer path leading to His Throne of Grace.

    I

dedicate this work, calling, and sense of awe I feel to the Lord Jesus

Christ, whose power is made perfect through my weakness. I know I am

called to write this, and I know I am unworthy to but by his grace.

"In him and through faith in him we may approach

    God with freedom and confidence."

    —Ephesians 3:4

Carrie George has done it again by bringing forth the word and the love our our Lord. When you are reading her new book, The Tabernacle Prayer Pattern", her writing leaps off the pages right into your heart and soul. As a Jewish Believer I find Carrie’s talent as a writer to be insightful, inspired and a gift from God. A must-read!

    RECOGNITION AND THANKS

    16429.png

To Jeff George, my husband, best friend, confidant, mentor, and partner for life. He has shown me the path of wisdom and grace with truth and love. He’s helped me become all that I am and gives me the freedom to run with Christ wherever he leads my feet to go.

To Jason George and Kevin George, there are no words to thank you enough for being the tenderhearted warriors that you’ve become. I thank God for allowing me to be chosen as your mom, and I carry you in my heart daily. I am grateful for the victories we’ve won on our knees together.

To Deanna Marie Piatt, my sister who cannot hear in the natural but is especially sensitive to hearing his voice in the spiritual. Growing up together with you and seeing the world through your deafness have deepened my awareness of God all around us and opened my eyes to those who are hurting. You have taught me to show everyone love. Your visions, dreams, and discernment have opened the realm of heaven to me with new understanding. Angels are truly among us.

To my mentors Jane DiGiacomo, Leisa Vuduris, Geneva Hewett, Kathy Hill, Cricket Aull, and Rick Snow, thank you for the sacred times in prayer, sharing hearts and the ways you’ve poured into my life.

To my pastors who have been shepherds through some very deep valleys and high mountaintop experiences. Because of our moves across the country, we’ve had several, but some are as close of friends now as they were then. Thank you, Pastors Ralph Moore, Zac Nazarian, Bill Whorton, Annjeanette Whorton, Rick Snow, Kathy Hill, Byron MacDonald, Jon Woolner, Shawn Hurley, and Garrick Hanger. A very special thanks to Pastor Bill. You shepherded us through the most difficult valley of our lives. Pastor Rick, you literally laid it all on the line for our then-wayward son. Our prodigal is back thanks to the words you spoke again and again, Never give up, Carrie.

Thank you to my beautiful family of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Your covering and blessings are a beautiful picture of Christ. I highly value the privilege of being licensed through this denomination.

    FOREWORD

    16429.png

I’m privileged to write a foreword for this book.

The doorway into that privilege is a friendship born more than 40 years ago. I got to know Carrie and Jeff George early in their walk with each other in Hope Chapel Hermosa Beach.

So good to read something refreshing with its roots in both the Old Testament and in prayer. Seems funny that as I get older, I find myself spending more time in the Old Testament than in the New. May have something to do with feeling closer to heaven…

The important thing about this book is that it presents what I call stations of prayer. Life is busy. Sometimes seems too busy for prolonged time with the Lord. That usually occurs when we are in the greatest need for intimacy with him. You’ll find yourself drawn deeper into the most significant relationship in your
