INTRODUCTION
This is a book about a man from Texas and a woman from New Jersey who fell in love over the Internet.
All of the characters in this book are fictitious. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead is purely coincidental.
BOOK ONE
CHAPTER ONE
My Aunt Jean said she heard that many people were dating through the internet and perhaps that would be a good idea for me. She said that she was worried about me being alone in my golden years. I have heard a lot of success stories so I thought why not. I went on line one night not knowing much about it but I found a chat room and some guy wrote that he didn’t want to be in this chat room, «they are all crazy» and I wrote back saying ‘’me too.» He asked if I wanted to chat outside of the room. So I agreed and he said he would IM me. IM means Instant Message where a chime rings and a box opens up and you can talk back and forth. He told me he was a Biology Professor at Texas A & M University and that he lived near the Gulf of Mexico. I told him I was from New Jersey and that I was retired from the IRS. We had a very interesting and intelligent conversation and I was enjoying myself immensely. I also told him that I worked part—time at an Engineering Firm.
This began a series of IMs (Instant Messaging) emails back and forth and later developed into telephone conversations once or twice a week.

Melanie:
It was so nice meeting you in the chat room. Glad you feel the same way that I do a lot of idiots in those rooms. It would be so nice to hear your voice, so why don’t you give me your telephone number so we can chat on the phone. Meeting you sounds even more delightful.
Hope to talk with you later

Good Morning Chuck:
Yes, it would be nice to hear your voice as well. My number is 758—624—4328. I will look forward to hearing from you soon.
Have a great day — talk soon.

Good Morning Melanie
I enjoyed our talk last night. It was so good to hear your voice after just writing to each other over the net.
I bet you are being a lazybones this morning. I hope so! It gives me something extra to tease you about! LOL. Though I was being a little lazy myself - : just got up about 7:40.
It is foggy and in the low sixties here this morning, but its supposed to get into the low eighties by the late afternoon I will have to leave for the panel and speech soon and I still have some preparation to do. I teach my first class tonight at Texas A & M so I need to prepare for that as well.
Please take special care today and drive carefully. Keep smiling and laughing at the strangest times so everyone will wonder whats going on with you. Be good.
Sincerely,
Chuck

As things progressed we decided to meet. It was the winter of 1999 and during superbowl weekend I flew down to the gulf of Mexico to meet this professor. It was an all day trip from Newark Airport to Houston and then on to Harlingen. Traveling on a small puddle hopper as they say. About a ten seater non—prop airplane. When I deplaned, he was there to meet me and as we approached the luggage carousel, we looked each other over. I looked at him and he did appear to resemble his picture but he was very short and stocky.
His name was Chester Wentworth
CHAPTER TWO
It was just a short distance from the airport to Chuck’s house. We talked a lot as there was so much to say. I fell in love with his house. It was a real adobe hacienda with an in the ground pool in the back. Since I was only there for the weekend I didn’t have much to unpack. We went out to a Mexican restaurant for lunch which I enjoyed very much since it was so close to Mexico, I knew it would be authentic.
I decided to go for a walk before the game started and of course I got lost. At first I was frightened but then noticing how beautiful it was along the gulf I calmed myself. I met someone who helped me find my way back to Chuck’s house. When I arrived I was short of breath and still frightened which caused Chuck to laugh but he hugged me and we sat down to watch the Super Bowl. Chuck had already prepared snacks and of course Margaritas which is the drink of choice along the gulf.
It was a wonderful weekend and I didn’t want it to end but I knew it would not be long before we would be together again.
We had plans to spend Easter at my house for the weekend. I was excited and so looking forward to it.
CHAPTER THREE
I always wanted to rent my house out for the summer so I could pay off some credit card bills. Chuck said why not come here for the summer. I said okay fine, that would be great especially with the pool outside. It was not easy to rent out my house as I thought because I am on a lagoon not an ocean or beach I finally found a couple with two children who wanted to rent a house for a year or so. Then he had some second thoughts saying that his Mother was coming and would not look good. So I said
