About this ebook

Before God created the universe, it apears to some of us that he must have had to undertake a lot of planning.
God planned for all his creation to be put together and operate through mechanics, electrical and magnetic fields, and forces. He designed and planned for tiny subatomic particles to attract and repel, spin and fly. His atomic model baffled us for thousands of years. Yet, he also planned for life and spiritual existance.
Stephen E. Meeks speculates on all of God’s planning in this important work, drawing on his knowledge of scripture and science. He seeks to discuss questions such as:
What steps did God take to create life and achieve His plan of salvation?
Did God keep some things a secret?
What was he doing Before the creation?
The author examines how God reveals his plan for a strong and orderly foundation on which He physically built creation and how His basic building blocks are revealed by science.
From string theory and subatomic particles, light, day and night, and the heavens, to life, cellular mechanics, and more, this book hopes to share with you a new appreciation for God’s amazing work.

    HOW TO READ THIS BOOK:

    PRINTED VERSION

I wrote this book to be read as if we were having a conversation about the subject. I ask you to pray before you read, and not to try to read it all at once. There are a lot of things included here that the reader might not understand at one reading. There are many readers who may try to breeze through in one day. This is a feast that should be enjoyed over many days. Some of the chapters are short, and some are long. Please, do not feel that you are obligated to read every word. This is a thought piece about God and his plan for the universe and you. The links are included for investigating the details. Use the links on a computer to see the detailed descriptions. Take your time, and as you read, pray that God will reveal himself to you as you think about his creation and plans for his people, including you and me. May God bless your time as you read through it.

    • The Holy Bible

The Holy Bible is the accepted, worldwide source, in many translations, of the actual Word of God as he inspired humankind to write it down and transfer it through word of mouth and written manuscripts by Holy men of God. Scribes and transcribers meticulously transferred the words by the original writers as accurately as was possible to various forms of receptive materials. These men used ink and paper of some type, vellum, parchment, and paper products for recording this information. God himself preserves His word by the Holy Spirit through the ages. There exists today the paper, some of the vellum and parchment copies, and the continuously transferred data in digital form. The Dead Sea Scrolls are an example of the lengths to which scribes went to preserve their work as accurately as possible. It is through hearing the Word of God that we have faith in his Word, work, and love.

    • King James Version

Almost all Bible quotes from the Blue Letter Bible website (https://www.blueletterbible.org) will be from the King James Version, copied from the texts and pasted in place as on the website. I have removed the links to the Tools and the checkboxes from the verses in their quoted formats. I have changed the fonts and font sizes for readability and personal preference. When I use other versions from the site, there is an addition to the reference line to state the version used. When I copy from other biblical sources, I have noted the biblical references from these sources. I have not used quotation marks to surround most verses copied from the Blue Letter Bible when it is understood that they are quotes taken from their site and the KJV, unless otherwise noted.

In the writers’ quotations of the Hebrew language, some words will be unfamiliar to English speakers, and their context will define some of the terms. Some will have singular and plural forms that are unfamiliar as well. One of these plural forms in Hebrew adds the suffix -im to make a term plural. Elohim, seraphim, and cherubim are examples that refer to many as opposed to one or two. Elohim is the name for God in the Old Testament that honors him as creator and Lord, Almighty God. The Seraph and the Cherub are angels, and several are called seraphim and cherubim. The KJV uses Seraphims and Cherubims as translated words. This translation is a mistake in understanding the context and language usage. I have quoted these passages in the New International Version (NIV) for clarity.

A note about italics in the Bible Quotes: Wherever italics are used in the Bible, especially the KJV, they indicate these words were added for clarity of thought or expansion of the ideas for the reader. These words were not directly translated from the original actual text. This is stated in the foreword of the document written in 1611.

    • Blue Letter Bible

    https://www.blueletterbible.org/

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Letter_Bible

When quoting from the Blue Letter Bible website, I include the reference for the verse and its context. I have also used the bold format for words searched and included in the quote for emphasis. Italics was used by the biblical authorities, and it was not an option.

    • Commentaries

I have used the commentaries written by Mathew Henry, Exposition of the Old and New Testaments, and the commentaries used in the Blue Letter Bible website as the primary sources for expansion on some biblical subjects. I believe reinventing the wheel in this case is not in my skill set. The works of Mathew Henry, this man of God, and Jameson Faucet and Brown have helped me understand many of the mysteries in the scriptures.

    • Wikipedia

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia

I acknowledge that Wikipedia and other references in the universe are not final authorities on any subject. Science and academia attempt to find the definite answers to every subject, but once these conclusions are reached, they are still the understanding of finite beings in a finite universe as far as they can determine. For any one person on Earth to say, I am absolutely never wrong, would be the ultimate confession of arrogant ignorance.

    • Other Resources

I refer to Wikipedia for many explanations of subjects and sources that may require elaboration, but I will also draw from many online sources that will be used, referenced, and quoted that have phrased their research and ideas more clearly than I might. Every reference to other sources will be included with the material used. There are many occurrences where the material is too detailed to include here, and these are referenced by included hyperlink references with underline. This book contains many relevant quoted documents that may be difficult for some readers, but these can be passed up by the reader if they are too difficult without losing my main points.

    CHAPTER

    Introduction

    Chapter01.jpg

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

    Genesis 1:1

This verse contains an amazing set of implications that, by the following narrative, implies that there was much more involved in the creation of the universe than God chose to reveal in his Holy Word. In a flash of creation, as revealed to us in the book of Genesis, all the universe was stretched out, and in six days it began to run in perfect order according to his plan.

There are many things that God did not directly reveal to us, but by studying his revealed Word and his creation, we can see the truths of the plans God had to make in order for his creation to operate in practice.

It is my desire to present this speculation about God’s forethought and his planning that must, in our understanding, have occurred. By this work, I hope to show some of the complexity of forethought and planning God had to do, from our perspective, to bring the universe and the plan of salvation to fulfillment.
