T o my father, Reverend Dr. George Luther Stevens, M.Ed., D.Div., Councilman, Deputy Mayor, Minister—Father. He was a man among men—a leader among leaders, a self-described social worker and do-gooder. It is his legacy of faith and instilling in me the belief that with God’s help and by working smart, I could grow, achieve and explore the possibilities of life without fear and to strive without belief in failure. It is to him I say, Thank you and express my appreciation for the enriched and indelible impact his life has left on my life and the lives of thousands of individuals who knew him as their advocate and champion. Introduction

    "Through The Valley Of The

    Shadow Of Wealth"

T he majority of people in this country, even the most educated and intelligent, are unaware of the significant financial benefits and importance of legally protecting themselves from the attacks of frivolous lawsuits and payment of unnecessary taxation beyond legal requirements. Further, we are generally unaware of the estate planning, trusts, business entities, insurance and many other financial vehicles which are readily at their disposal at relatively minimal costs.

This book will dispel the myth that every person of significant wealth in the history of the United States was somehow born with an inherent wealth gene, producing the acumen for wealth accumulation and sustainability. It will rather reveal that most became wealthy through the deliberate process of being mentored by wealthy parents and/or generations of the same, who left wealth and hand-held their posterity over the peaks and through the valleys of the shadow of wealth.

My aim is to educate, encourage and incite you to utilize the same tools which the wealthy have historically used for wealth accumulation and maintenance.

I seek to inform the uninformed that in this country, we live under a government and within an economic system that favors corporations and business, over the individual.

As such, State and Federal legislation is created and executed which adversely impacts the common citizens, while corporate citizens go unscathed. In response, the common citizens must utilize the tools of their corporate counterpart to level the playing field—and what they do, they must—do quickly. As the masses learn the tools, rules and techniques of the few; the few will begin to change the rules to maintain a hierarchy of the financially elite and a cavernous demarcation between the Haves and the Have-nots. Why else would the tools to accumulate and maintain wealth have not been passed on to the masses as a normal course of life?

It is our belief that every individual should own a company. Our country, its economy and education system, were engineered to satisfy the insatiable demand of businesses. The majority of the population is indoctrinated to become well entrenched in the roles of worker/laborer/employee; and that throughout their working existence and that of their progeny, they should remain as such. Without laborers who believe they can only get ahead by securing a good paying job which will pay them sufficient to survive, though never providing access or opportunity to receive the Lion’s share of profits, as company owner, our current economy would buckle at the knees.

Those in this country who are unaware of this indoctrination or engineering, will remain indentured and sub-servient to a master who is always in need of their blood and sweat to manufacture their Dodge in Detroit or Mustang in Michigan—well, at least, that is, until a lesser cost/greater efficiency, substitute is found, and out-sourced overseas.

    Chapter 1

    A History of the Wealth

    Game: "The Billionaire Boy’s

    Club"

Like the invention of fire, the wealth game wasn’t a premeditated plan, but rather, a resulting evolution fueled by passion, experimentation, necessity, an equal thirst for power and a sufficient portion of greed, whose time had come—Anonymous

T o fully understand a thing, its etymology, its genesis of creation or origin, you are required to journey to its initial beginnings as your foundational starting point. You must address the " Why about a subject before you can really understand, appreciate or even, in some cases, properly utilize or benefit from the What" about a thing. In other words, if you don’t understand why a thing was created (i.e., it’s purposes and reasons for existence), it will be very difficult to understand it’s present purpose or benefit, or how it can be used and applied to our present situation or circumstances. If you don’t understand the purpose or benefit of a thing, you will abuse it or worse still, it will abuse you.

In order to understand the Secrets of the Wealth Game, we can only benefit if first we understand why and how the Wealth Game began and that there is, in fact, a Wealth Game presently in affect. Secondly, we, of necessity, must understand that there are secrets associated with the Wealth Game. Since they have been kept secret as a whole, if we can uncover them and then use them to our advantage, we can become successful in our quest to gain, grow and maintain personal, as well as generational wealth.

The Wealth Game in this country began with a small group of individuals from varying economic, social, educational and ethnic backgrounds. Some were born into means, others had parents who struggled, even to come to this country. Some successfully attained higher education, others dropped out before completing high school. Their examples of proper up bringing by parents varied as much as where they were from. They were a group of men who set in motion, a chain of events that would forever change the course of how this country would operate as a society and how individuals would live their personal lives. That impact reverberates even to this day. These men were the catalysts of a new era. Their contributions radically mutated the lives of this nation and brought about drastic changes to our society and culture. The entire nation felt the effects of their advancements, not merely in the area of industrialization and manufacturing, but in their direct impact on the individual lives of citizens throughout this country.

Prior to this revolution, our nation was predominately comprised of farmers, sharecroppers, indentured servants and newly freed men. The introduction of the industrial revolution morphed the producers of our crops, live stock and agriculture. These were free-spirited entrepreneurs. They were their own bosses, masters of their own destinies! But with industrialization, came the drive for money, fame and power, creating an industry and industrial machine capable of providing an addictive enticement. This seduced self-sufficient men and women and sadly, transformed them into persons willing to give-up hard work and the risk of failed crops, for the false sense of security of a regular pay check from the local factory.

It converted free-thinking entrepreneurs into a labor force of the masses. The farmers and the like were no longer the employers, they were now relegated to being the factory employees. They exchanged their land ownership (in some cases), complete autonomy and the possibility of limitless eventual earnings through expansion and development of their own businesses, for the belief of a risk-free, factory job and "a day’s pay for a day’s labor."

Hence, it is as true today as it was then. We no longer control our own destinies, nor play by our own rules. We have succumbed to the rules of a now old and foreign financial and economic system—a system that no one took the time to explain, nor believed it was beneficial to inform the naïve. Failing to do so, left us flailing to sink or swim for ourselves in a new economy where we are merely pawns in a game we generally know little or nothing about and even less about how to succeed at it.

Those transforming fellows of the Industrial Revolution are our case studies on how this new order evolved, because it is these gentlemen who began the industrial revolution and the evolution of the Wealth Game; they invented the rules of the game, determining how it was to be played for hundreds of years to come—even to this day.

These were the super-wealthy of their day and ours. These were the men who were the first in a class of financial over-achievers. These elitists were a group of billionaires. These were the fledgling founders and freshmen members of the Billionaire Boy’s Club.

    Success Leaves Footprints

To understand how one arrived at any point in their lives whether having reached success or otherwise, we need only start where they began, read the tracks that were left behind and follow them. These men left clear and distinct markings along their trails, that if examined carefully, can directly lead us to patterns of personal characteristics to embrace or dismiss, rules and guidance to follow, tools for building wealth and strategies for business success. The lives of these men must be dissected into components that will enable us to analyze and follow their tracks. By doing so, we can observe their commonalities and patterns. Any uniform made for any team begins with a pattern—a template which is simply copied over and over again. The result is that you successfully recreate that which you believed represents the best elements of what you desired in look, feel, shape, and size of the original.

The elements we will use to construct a pattern from
