Hello! My name is, La’Rue, I’m a witch. I live in Hallow Towne, USA, with my parents and younger siblings. My Dad’s name is Gordon, he’s a full-time wizard and part-time Chemistry Professor at Boo University. My Mom, Isadora, or Izzy for short, is a witch, she works as a teacher at Boo Middle School. My kid brother, Tiko and the little rug bug, Trish, attend Boo Elementary for The Gifted, which is a private school.

Yes, Tiko is a cat. But, he didn’t start out that way. One Saturday when we were all busy doing chores around the house, Tiko had wandered into the basement, where our parents forbade us to go. My Dad had been working on different experiments and would leave his work on the table. Tiko became mesmerized by a glowing green substance on the table and decided to try it, thinking it would taste like koolaid. But, it didn’t, Tiko said that it was sweeter.

At first, nothing happened, he went about his day as usual, but the next morning, when he came downstairs for breakfast, we were staring at this black cat that sat comfortably in Tiko’s chair. It wasn’t until he asked us what we were all staring at that he realized he’d turned into a cat. My kid sister was just happy to have a cat, since our Mom didn’t allow us to have any pets. Dad’s been steadily working on a potion that’ll transform Tiko back into a little boy. But, I digress.

The entire town was abuzz about the Annual Fall Festival. Just about everyone looked forward to being apart of the talent show, it was the best thing about the festival. Mrs. Kawanza, our High School Performing Arts Teacher opened the show by singing The Star Spangled Banner. Mrs. Kawanza was a really nice teacher, the students who took her classes raved about how much fun her classes were. She’s a Vampiress, married to Count Vanderveer, Lord of the Third Courts.

The Count sat in the audience watching his wife belt out one of the greatest renditions I’d ever heard. He was the first one who stood up for the standing ovation. Their union was a match made in Transylvania. She, being a young college student, studying Fine Arts at the prestigious Horror University, had met the Count through his father, Baron Rockwell, who was her vocal instructor. After one of her opera performances, The Baron Rockwell invited her to dine with he and his family at their home, and the rest as they say, is nightmare history. It’s amazing what you can learn when you spend the weekend with your Grandma sitting in on her weekly
