Brian K. Rauschenberger

Pastor Brian Rauschenberger and his wife, Jamie, live near Jackson, Kentucky, where they serve as pastor of Mount Carmel Community Church and Assistant Administrator of Mount Carmel School. Mount Carmel School is a kindergarten through twelfth-grade school with a purpose of teaching academic excellence, spiritual transformation, and discipline with a Christian Worldview to children in Eastern Kentucky, along with boarding students from around the world. They have served as missionaries to the people of Haiti for over twenty years. Brian and Jamie regularly share in mission and ministry conferences and church revivals. Brian has visited sixteen countries and territories around the globe and has had the privilege of preaching in most of them. Brian is heard weekly on several radio stations in Haiti, through his radio program Faith in Focus International, and on his YouTube channel Haitian Hearts for Holiness, where he continues his preaching and teaching ministry to the Haitian people in their Creole language. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4).

Our God is a prayer-hearing and prayer-answering God! He will often give us victory and deliverance from our trials and the difficulties life may bring, allowing us to accomplish the tasks at hand.

God showed me that sometimes He desires, instead of delivering us from a situation, to give us the faith to endure, bringing glory to His name through it.

Chapter 3 Lessons in Sustaining Faith

God has a faith for us that will sustain us even in the most gut-wrenching pain, loss, or grief. We are not alone!

Chapter 4 Faith over Fear

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18).

Fear is the antithesis of faith. We can have a belief in God that overcomes any fear the enemy brings into our pathway.

Chapter 5 Lessons in Waiting Faith

At present, I am learning of another faith: the faith to patiently wait on God’s timing. The sovereign God is in control, and we can trust Him to direct the schedule in the chapters of our lives.

Faith is not elusive, and biblical theology needs a clear definition. Biblical faith is a personal, trusting relationship with God. Faith is relational and grows in your walk with God, whose holy character is trustworthy and unchanging.

PREFACE

One of the greatest joys in the lives of my wife, Jamie, and me was the years we spent in the country of Haiti serving our Lord Jesus. We learned so much. Perhaps the most significant thing we learned was how to live by faith. We lived every day by faith. We prayed in each need, and every problem was solved by prayer for God’s daily wisdom. We never left the house without prayer, and we never traveled without prayer. Each month the financial needs were prayed on, and God met every one of them. We saw spiritual victories of all kinds, saw people delivered from demons, and over the years, saw over two dozen witch doctors turn from spirit worship to serving Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Many of them are now among some of the best pastors in Haiti.

While sharing our experiences with teams in Haiti and during deputation, revival services, and mission conferences here in the United States, many asked that I write a book with some of our life events and mission stories. I apologize that the majority of the experiences are that of my family and me, but that is what I know about. And although I know many have had God show them these truths as well, I can only share what I know God has shown me. I hope it speaks to you and inspires you to greater depths of faith.

I have, for some time, shared a sermon about aspects of faith and have felt I should share it in greater detail in written form. I hope that our experiences will encourage you to trust God no matter what the situation is you are going through. A strong faith in God can lead you, guide you, sustain you, and strengthen you.
