    PROLOGUE

Douglas L. Wilson grew up in the small rural Northern Michigan town of Grayling. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University. Doug recently retired from a forty year career as an educator, youth counselor, and family social worker. Doug and his wife continue to reside in the Grayling area and they are frequent visitors to Doug’s alma matter in Mount Pleasant. Doug has been a poet for over fifty years and he is the author of the popular book Echoes and Shadows.

Into the Black is Doug’s second book. This collection of poetry focuses on the many facets of romantic love. Some of the poetry is written from Doug’s personal experience, while some of the poems are snapshots of life that we can all relate to. Wilson’s poetry will toy with your emotions and it will cause you to think.

My sincerest thanks to my wife, Tracy and my daughter, Carlie Jane, for their time and technical assistance in compiling this collection of work.

Into the Black is dedicated to Doug’s family,
