BOOK DEDICATION
All my life I have stood on the foundation that my mother laid for me as a very young boy. That foundation is defined from the premise that in whatever you do, make sure you do you very best. In the profession that God allowed me to serve, for 19 years and counting, I’ve always tried to do my very best. That profession, although it’s how I make a living, has never been a job for me. Every day that I have been blessed to be a coach has been a day of fulfilling my purpose.
Because God has given me the insight to pen these thoughts, I want to dedicate this devotional to every athlete I ever coached in the game of basketball. Starting with the Alcorn State Lady Braves, who gave me confidence as a coach; the Alcorn Braves, who gave me courage as a coach; the Morton Lady Panthers, who showed me how to be a father as a coach; the Morton Panthers, who showed me how to be a mentor as a coach; the Forest Bearcats, who showed me how to be successful as a coach; the Murrah Mustangs, who showed me that I belong as a coach; the Newton Lady Tigers, who showed me how to be a champion as a coach; and lastly, the Terry Bulldogs, who showed me it’s nothing more important than family as a coach.
It’s impossible for me to list every athlete I have ever coached, but that does not mean your name is not listed in my heart. It’s because of you that I’m the leader that I am. I know I was far from what you
