Christ, be the Centre of my universe

Head of my Heart. (far better, never worse)

Righteousness and daily strength to hold fast

I - Insignificant me to be last

S is for Saviour, my Soul be not loss

Triumphant in death, CHRIST rose from the cross.

I NEED YOU every hour, every minute of the day

Be with me, Lord, throughout all the ups and downs I pray.

Help me to put the feelings of other people first

Bring out the very best in me (not good or bad or worst!)

I’d like to help to make the world a much, much better place

Help me show the love revealed through Your abundant grace.

I’d like the world to know Your love and that You really care,

To be prepared to speak for You, Your saving grace to share,

Grant me Lord, a gracious manner, sensitive and kind,

So those I meet - to hear and listen - may be more inclined-

Help me to know the words to say, that other folk may see

Your Holy Spirit in my heart, and not just human me.

A LIGHTED PATH

As I stood at the gate of the coming year

Anticipating as clouds drew near

A lonely knotting and cramping fear-

I heard a soft voice say…

"Put your hand in the hand of the Lord,

Your path will be lighted by trust in His Word,"

And just as He cares for each little bird,

Safer than any known way.

"And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: ‘Give me a light that I may tread

safely into the unknown.’ And he replied: ‘Go out into the darkness and put your hand into

the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.

AT TIMES

At times I’m asked to write a poem

On a matter close to heart.

Then I agonize through following days

Oh no, I can’t think what to say

No ideas do impart.

But God knows what is on my mind,

He helps me realize

I do not need the words to find

For He will supervise.

And one fine day a thought will come -

Though unprepared am I -

And so in haste I write it down

Before it slips right by!

His words are always best by far,

The Holy Spirit leading -

His thoughts are like a shining star -

My highest hopes exceeding.

ABUNDANT BREAD OF LIFE

On a hillside, a very large crowd had come

To hear Jesus speak, around 5,000 the sum.

Late in the day, He realised their need.

(There was nowhere for miles to obtain a feed).

He told His disciples with loving concern

To collect together what they could discern.

From two little fish and five loaves of bread

That crowd of 5,000 were satisfied and fed.

While at the Last Supper, to the Twelve, Jesus said

This is my body, take, and eat of this bread

Ref: While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he

broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, ‘take and eat; this is my body.’

— Matthew 26:26

Thus the lesson has now become clarified,

By the Bread of Life, we’ll be satisfied.

Not just for a few, but for all who believe -

Christ’s body sufficient His grace to achieve.

AWESOME CREATION

More than the minds of a million men

could imagine or design

Is the awesome glory of Creation’s

majesty divine.

To catalogue the wonders of God’s

bounteous universe

Needs encyclopaedic knowledge

of every field diverse.

Oh, what ants **men must appear

to One so infinite

That choirs of heavenly angels

pay homage to His might,

And yet what Love and Grace bestowed

to conquer each dark night-

The sacrifice of Christ, His Son

to indicate His Light.
