‘The nightingale sings in darkness and is
much loved. Stay with us till dawn.’
The journey into self-love and self-acceptance must begin with self-examination… until you take the journey of self-reflection, it is almost impossible to grow or learn in life.
– Iyanla Vanzant
PROLOGUE
"I write with all my heart today".
"When I look at those Himalayas, those time rendered oak trees, the beautifully detailed flowers, when I breathe the fresh air, when the fresh drizzle drops touch my face, when the blue sky, the clear blue sky, with its poetry of white looks back at me, I question both me and my existence.
I question the existence and creation of this universe, I question my deeds.
I agree with the answers of science, but both my mind and heart sink deep with too many other questions".
My question is, why the trees were created, why the sky, why the mountains and why the fast flowing rivers. It gives me immense joy to understand. I think of this all the time and I try and look and search for answers. Its vastness certainly is a question and it is a tiring process, but it teaches me a lot.
I believe I can look at every drop in a fast flowing stream. Every drop has life and so does every leaf and every mountain. Every breath of air that I take has life. With great focus and strong will I have come to know about this. There are many questions and my answers are very few, but I want to experience all that the greatest of greats have said and written. I don’t want to go the philosophical way neither do I want to go the scientific way, my question starts from the start.
What we perceive about ourselves is greatly a reflection of how we will end up living our lives.
– Stephen Richards
Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.
– Carl Jung
Why is it all created? I want to gain more understanding about the creator, God.
If I agree to the notion that God has created this beautiful universe I feel relieved and blissful but the question that arises is why in such a manner.
Do I know the tree that stands next to my house? Does it know me? Why is it like what it is? There could have been other ways to provide oxygen. When I think in such a manner I feel connected. I feel connected to the emotions of that tree, it seems, as if, energy flows between the two of us. This melts my heart into pieces, it stresses my mind, but in turn I feel my answers, I feel its existence and maybe the tree feels mine.
Rationality, though, loses its equation.
You don’t know but you have tears in your eyes, I believe man once had the power to experience all this, like me the tree is another creation and so is the sky, with all living their lives and emotions and deeds.
This is an answer to some extent, it makes me understand that like me, everything else has been created to fulfil a certain purpose, a task or a deed.
It is always our own self that we find at the end of the journey. The sooner we face that self, the better.
– Ella Maillart
When I look at the trunk of the tree, I can tell you, it has lived many a lifetime and it seems that it has tremendous knowledge, I believe that it has walked many miles to reach that stillness.
I gaze at the intrinsic details of that bark; it seems to me like the poetry of the Universe, the poetry of both life and death.
I cannot talk about this to anyone, the world I guess thinks differently. The only answer that I believe I have as of now is that everything created has life, everything has emotions and everything is beautiful.
I too myself consider it irrational when I say, I think I can communicate with nature. I believe it is the creativity of my own mind that it finds poetry in the bark of the tree or that I feel life in every morsel of food that I eat, but it is a beautiful experience. It touches the heart, works the mind and tenderises the soul.
I believe I
