About this ebook
Olivia Henson
My name is Olivia Henson. I have always had a special connection to the written word. In elementary school I wrote my first poem and I’ll never forget the relief I felt in finally getting the weight on my chest transferred to paper. Poetry has been my outlet for every thought and emotion ever since. I hopes that this collection helps to shed some light on the what goes on inside the minds of those who go through what I went through and still struggle with every day.

The Color of Ghosts - Olivia Henson
The Decreptitude of Man
Men die
Children born
Voices lift
And tears fall
Kingdoms rise
While cities burn
And yet the world
Still on will turn
Nature dies
Sons murder
Truth or lies
Left for barter
Faith and blood
Lust or love
Good we punish
While prospers evil
Just deserts
Have no receival
So humor me
Please explain
Are we God’s chosen
Or just a game
Fire quenched
Or floods sent
Is He here
Or has He went
Serving time
Or drinking wine
Innocence brave
And curses crude
Chained slaves
The dim and shrewd
Yet the end awaits
And all the while
To equal graves
Each man files
Raise Your Glass
Raise your glass to the pain
Here’s to the panic
Here’s to the rain
Don’t try, you’ll never be free of frantic
Raise your glass to hate
Lift your wine to all things damned
lift it to unchangeable fate
For the gates of hell, remain unslammed
Raise your glass to the fears
Here’s to the lowly
Here’s to the tears
Believe in the truth of lonely
Raise your glass to the memory
Toast to the friction
Honor false destiny
Down the drink, breath in your addiction
Some, All, None
Some men are made of gold
Some men are made of bone
Some men come from flesh and blood
Some men are built of stone
All men rise to work and eat
Building cities never
