HOW TO USE THIS
COMMENTARY
Everyone has personal preferences when reading and studying the Bible. Below are tips and recommendations to use this commentary effectively. Start somewhere and remain consistent in studying God’s word.
1. Open all reading times with a simple prayer. Ask the Lord to reveal his word to you. Ask him for clarity and insights. God will answer this prayer.
2. Read the passage(s) of scripture. All scripture from Colossians comes from the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible. You can read in different ways: silently, aloud, at a normal cadence, or slowly.
3. Once you have read the scripture selection, read the commentary found following the selected passages.
4. This commentary references passages outside of Colossians. As you encounter them, read them, especially referenced verses given. The reference will provide additional insight regarding the text of Colossians. It will also provide examples of how scriptures relate to each other. Further, it will ensure context is kept while reading and studying.
5. As you finish reading, end your time with
