Before We Begin…
This story is about some Gordians. Some good, some not quite so good and some verging on naughty.
Ah, but some of you may not have met a Gordian before. Let me introduce you.
Gordians are usually a calm, quiet and very small people who live under the beds of humanity across the world. They survive by masticating the bad dreams of that humanity. They especially like nightmares as they are extra filling, like a big fat double beef burger with chips and a milkshake is better than, say, a stick of celery. (Although the celery is probably better for your health, but who cares about that?) They are also green with antennae on their heads that have specially evolved for absorbing those bad dreams, but don’t let that disturb you, it doesn’t disturb them.
They have lived underneath our slumbering selves for centuries. Forever keeping to the same bed, diligently monitoring our sleep while we remain completely oblivious. However, if this was strictly, one hundred percent always the case, then I would have nothing to tell you right now and this would be an extremely short book. Luckily for you and me, one Gordian behaved most oddly.
Now I am going to tell you about how a frivolous Gordian girl’s story concludes.
It began by her recklessly leaving her comfortable bed and loving family to follow a young, fickle human all the way across town to a new home. There she was most fortunate to meet a lovely, but childless, Gordian couple who kindly befriended her; sharing their bed and hearts. This you can read about in Gristlelina’s Adventure, should you wish to.
Next, of course, her poor mother and father, not knowing what kind of danger and trouble their youngest child could be in, have to traipse all the way across town to find her. They end up having a myriad of adventures and eye-opening experiences, not least discovering that their silly son isn’t so idiotic after all. He’s still a bit of a numpty though, mores the pity. This all happens in The Rescue.
Right now we rejoin all of these Gordians at the point when Gristlelina is finally found. Let me tell you what happens next…

Found.jpgThe Gordians Raisher (mother), Jostlethwaite (father) and Gromblefromp (son) are extremely tired and ridiculously peeved as they lower themselves into this garish pink teddy infested baby’s bedroom. They have dauntlessly travelled a great and dangerous distance, surviving distressing monsters, both living and almost alive. Many a time they thought that they had reached their destination, only to be confounded by a Gristlelina-less bedroom. Raisher is unsure how much more of this she can take. Truly, she has used oceans of patience and courage.
Silently, praying that they have at last
