About this ebook

“The Red Devil started laughing with his husky voice. “Hey, there, Walter, is that you asking for God’s help? I’m disappointed in you.” Then he started laughing again. “All your adult life you didn’t believe in God and you signed a bill to take prayer out of school. You were my favorite pupil.” Walter was writhing in pain as he stared at the bucket of water, too weak to respond to the chastisement of the devil.

The devil saw what he was staring at. “You want that, don’t you?” Poor Walter weakly answered, “Yes, master!” “The Red Devil was feeling pretty good that day, and he picked up the bucket of water, as if to honor the tormented man’s request. The look on Walter’s face revealed a glimmer of hope. His eyes and mouth opened wide, as the devil threw the bucket of water on him. When the water hit the air it turned into tears of fire that landed on his face. He cried like a baby while the devil laughed his heart out.”

Timothy R. Wright grew up in Orange, New Jersey and lived there most of his life. He did not finish high school but went to Turner Job Corps in Albany, Georgia and earned his G.E.D. 1990 Going to Turner Job Corps was a great experience. Thanks to my RA,s Ms. Butler and Ms. White who gave great support not just to me but all the students. They will always have a special place in my heart. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

When I was in high school, I felt like nobody really cared about my academic success, and I dropped out. Some teachers did make me feel inadequate, but today I realize that I didn’t do my best to meet teachers half way either. Going to Turner Job Corps for my GED was a great experience, and I thank my RA’s, Ms. Butler and Ms. White. They have a special place in my heart because they became mother figures to me.

I must give a special thanks to the editor of this book, Dr. Ruth L. Baskerville. She was one of the best teachers I ever had. When they say, Leave no student behind, she kept her word by believing in me. This old student came to ask her for help writing my story, and she said, Yes. This old student, Timothy R. Wright, thanks Dr. Ruth L. Baskerville for always being a teacher who never stopped caring about me. God bless her and her family.

    PROLOGUE

Outside of the United States, there is a secret school for preachers. No one knows where the location is. You will simply get a greeting card as an invitation. The card will read, Dear name, we would like to invite you to our workshop. It is important that we make sure our teachers are ready. Preachers are chosen, not made. We will pay for your trip. The school always chose younger students because the older ones were stuck in their ways.

Once the students accept the invitation, they are directed to meet at Newark Liberty Airport. A plain white shuttle van picks them up and takes them to a private jet. The door of the private jet opens really slowly and becomes stairs. The pilot and co-pilot walk down the stairs to meet the students.

Before we get started, we have to take all phones and cameras. This school has been a mystery and secret for centuries, and we don’t want our enemy to know we exist. The students look confused, as the pilots shake their heads. Wow, they don’t have a clue, one mutters to the other. A couple of students leave, skeptical of having to surrender their only means of communication with their families. Shoot I need my phone! Plus what if I have emergency at home. The pilots don’t answer their questions, but someone presumed to be the leader quietly says, The driver will take you back home. The rest of the students put their phones in a box and walk onto the jet. They think it’s cool to go first class, and it’s free! They all have window and captain seats.

When they look out the window, they can see the rest of the students looking sad. They know damn well they wanted to change their minds too, but it was too late now. Inside the jet, the chairs can spin around and face 50-inch flat screen TVs. Oh, yes, and there are all-leather seats with cup holders at each seat. One arm keeps your cup cold and the other hot, with a press of a button. There’s also a bar that’s fully stocked with drinks and snacks -- you name it!

Pretty, young stewardesses wearing tailored uniforms and bright smiles come out to greet them. We have a long ride ahead of us, so as soon as the jet leaves, kick your shoes off and relax. The ride is at least seven hours, and we’ll be crossing the ocean, which may look a little monotonous. Here is today’s menu. Oh, and there are DVD movies on the bottom shelf of the cabinet next to your chairs, if you can’t sleep. The students look at their menus and chatter gleefully among themselves that it’s like ordering from a five-star restaurant. They place their dinner orders, which arrive hot within twenty minutes.

After eating their meals, some of the guests go to sleep, while the others watch a movie. After six hours of flying, a loud voice comes out of the speakers, startling everyone into waking up. This is your co-pilot speaking. If you look down to your right, we are flying over your new school.

The jet lands in a small airport where there’s a van waiting on them. A young man in his early twenties greets them as they are coming down the stairs of the plane. He’s average height with naturally orange hair and tiny freckles on his face. Though average in stature, he has a small potbelly. His outfit is navy shorts and a white polo shirt tucked in to reveal a thin, black belt around his waist. He had ankle socks peaking out of white sneakers.

The man who looked more like he was going golfing than driving us to our destination flashed a perfect smile at everyone. Hi, my name is John, and I’m your driver today. Don’t worry about your luggage because we will take care of that. The students load up in the van and drive off. So how was your trip here? They all laugh and smile, looking at each other to choose without words who will answer for the group. The most confident member of the group responded, It was excellent!

When they look outside one of the oversize windows of their new school, which has the appearance of a mansion in the country, all they see are acers and acers of green grass. The cows are on one side and the horses on the other. What separates them is this enormous red farm house with white trimmings. They are told that a crew of men who stay on the property had recently put on fresh paint to keep it looking new. The pigs look huge, and love to play in the mud. Chickens walk around, stretching their necks and looking on the ground for something to eat. In another section of this expansive place, the group noted that the owners of the property grow their own crops. They’re self-sufficient, being able to grow their own crops and keep livestock for their food.

The new students are ushered out of the house to take a long walk around the property. They are stunned at the beauty and spaciousness of their new accommodations. Once they cross the only bridge, they can see this big church that look like a castle. They finally make it to the church. One of
