A Writer’s Craft - Akeisha Latch
~Inner Thoughts
Sometimes I would have these conversations in my head which seemed normal I mean who hasn’t, but these weren’t the typical ones
But rather conversations that took days months heck even years to end
I tried to convince myself that I could let these thoughts go
It’s funny because I couldn’t picture a normal day without them
As I replayed them in my head over and over again
These constant battles in my head that I’m waging war with leave me piece by piece by piece by piece and I just can’t seem to fit them back together into what was once a solvable puzzle
When I’m faced to look at my reflection in the mirror, I question whether my two brown eyes are pretty enough where you’ll be able to sink so far into them that you’ll be able to see and truly understand that behind a crooked smile I’m drowning at the bottom of an ocean
I’ve realized sometimes the hardest battles are the ones against yourself and piece by piece by piece by piece I’m left asking myself
WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID?
WHY DO YOU KEEP MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES?
GIVE ME A BREAK I’m only human I’LL TRY HARDER NEXT TIME
It’s like you have the devil sitting on one side of your shoulder and an angel on the other
One’s telling me good ones telling me bad and I’m often mistaking the bad voice for the good and then I get thrown so off track until I can barely breathe my head is spinning my heart is pounding and my talking becomes so radical that I.. JUST.. CAN’T… REMEMBER.. What I was talking about …..
Oh yeah and piece by piece by piece by piece
