About this ebook

This story explores the divide between dreams and reality, history and fiction, love and hate. It tells a tale of a man seeking to understand his father, but it is taught by visions of African grandeur and gore from the eighteenth century. And yet he has never traveled to Africa or studied African history and literature.

    PREFACE

T HIS NOVEL IS based on many variables of my life, foremost my dreams, my visions, and my experiences. It took me on a personal journey from a series of dreams & visions I experienced in 1999, to my relationship with my father, to how I handled certain experiences in my life.

I’m not sure that I figured out all of the answers, but it’s an interesting tale that I will share.

As I began to put this all together and write this novel, it took me years to try and understand what it meant and what I was doing, and most of all; what do I do with the information that I have?

At that time I only shared this with a few people that I was close to. It was rough and choppy, even when I talked to certain individuals who would play an integral part in this process, they even questioned my intentions of; how did this happen? And where did this come from.

Today as I sit here almost 18 years later, the stories remain fresh as if I had just awoken from a long dream realm. Parts of this are funny, some is strange, some is unbelievable and some is a little scary. I don’t k now if the Forgotten Prince really existed, but I do know, everything that I will roll out to you is real, the dreams and visions will be as I saw them, and the stories to follow are all real.

    DEDICATION

M ANY YEARS AGO I dedicated this book to certain members of my family who have passed on, and now years later I can’t forget how influential they were in my life, especially as a young boy.

Frank and Edna Henson my grandparents on my mothers side of the family, Were an extremely spiritual couple who prayed for me and laid hands on me as a child. I felt their God Fearing influence in my adolescent years was paramount, their spiritual guidance helped keep my faith strong and focused.

But of the living; I dedicate this to my Wife Sheryl, my daughters Paris and Ava, and to a woman who has always been there; my mother Joan Roach.

    FORWARD

I N THE YEAR 2000 I had the opportunity to meet, only by phone, and extraordinary man who had helped me understand what I was experiencing with these dreams and visions. I was referred to him through my neighbor at the time by the name of John Kwadwo. After telling John of my dreams he said you must speak to a friend of mine he is a Doctor at North Carolina State University, and he is also a Sub-King of the Asante-Mampong Nation in Ghana, West Africa.

I am honored to have the Forward of this book written by:

    Dr. Kwabena Faheem Ashanti

Dreams and visions are so much a part of, and basic to the loves, of African people that they are not often written about or discussed. They seem to be taken for granted. However, dreams and visions often serve as the spiritual energetic libraries of human histories and records. People parish when there are no longer dreams and visions that give accurate imprints of their own racial and ethnic traditions. However, an oppressed people like African Americans have had their power system taken away and destroyed during enslavement. Most of them today do not really know what true power is any longer. Most of them dream the dreams and have the visions of their former white brainwashers. Most of them see African culture as spiritual phenomenal as interesting-but not really connected to them.

People with power are always true, loyal, and defenders of their: Race, Philosophy, Theology, Culture, Ethnicity, and Rituals. These are what I named the Building Blocks of Empowerment. While powerful people may rarely share power, they have never, in history, given up their power without fighting to keep it and loosing to a superior military force of
