    INTRODUCTION

This book tells a story and also serves as a guide for those who want to start or run their own business. The story is about a black guy living in Portsmouth originally from Cameroon who studied in Switzerland. It is an inspirational moment of my life experiences and the uncertain situations I was facing in my own country in 1996 when I started my first business.

After five years of hard work and research on the Internet to build my business to earn my financial freedom, I felt the desire to share the story with you, ‘The story of my life’

This story comes partially from my black African Country, where I spent my childhood, and from the White Country where I spent most of my time studying, living and working. The language was not a barrier to my integration when I was a student in Geneva where people speak French; unfortunately, like many foreigners, I was doing odd jobs, but this didn’t stop me fighting to build my dream. By ambition, by choice or by necessity I’ve never asked the question. As long as human beings continue to immigrate, to move to the land of human being I would never ask a question.

I went to Europe by air; my family expected a lot from me, I had to fulfil the dreams of young people of my Mother’s village by building an Integrated Center of Development and Health Center. The dream was to big and I hoped that my integration would be quick and easy. Unfortunately, there are people who hate you and want you to fail. It seems that I had the winning combination of Lotto in my hand.

This is my story it is my vision. You start your life with expectations and dreams, but as you go through life, it is not always as you had imagined. Life is just as it is, and sometimes your life depends on someone else. Be yourself. Think Big and Think Different. Treat People With Respect And Dignity. Follow your dream no matter what. Make it happen, enjoy your life and live fully.

    CHAPTER 1

    THE SCANDAL OF POOR SALARY

    How All this happened

In 2003 I was in London finding a new opportunity due to the advent of Internet business. This was a tough moment of my life, due to the language barrier. I was a factory worker at Cooper Vision Manufacturing, a holder of five years degree in development studies, working 48 hours per week and two days overtime.

Four years later, I’ve turned down a job of £33.000 as a consultant; the same amount of money I was earning when I was a student in Switzerland in 1998-2002. Why? Because I was not there to chase a salary or any position, I wanted to be financially free. As a holder of five years degree, this was not the best way for me to be financially free. Every time I was telling my friends, members of my family and some colleagues that I would like to start a million-pound sterling Internet business plan turnover and that I need 2 or 3 people to join me, they were laughing, and many looked at me, as if I had lost my mind. Hey, Jean, where will all this money come from, show us the money! What are you still doing in this factory if you know how to make money?"

Some of my colleagues were saying that: "This black guy has gone mad; you want to start a business when you’re at the bottom of the ladder of this company, what a crazy black! Instead of wasting your time about starting a business, you should focus all your energy and time doing a lot of overtime. We are sure that you will stay in this company until your last day before retirement, if the company does not fire you before. You see they were judging me by the colour of my skin, not by the character of my contents and the know-how. So, in Internet time as this, if you really know what you want to be, you will find what to do that will lead you where you want to be. Do not let yourself to be smothered by the ignorance of some and barren criticisms, and never let your small business make you small-minded.

Remember there are only two things that can change your life: something new that comes inside your life and you work for it to make it happened, or something new that comes from outside your life and you take action.

This book is the story of how I did it, of what worked well and what went wrong, my success and mistakes. The key lesson I’ve learned on my journey and collectively, it is the secret formula for financial freedom in today’s Internet business. And this book is a crucial guiding tool for anyone who wants to start a business or any business owner who wants to make it big. If you are committed to getting what you REALLY want from: your life, your business, your customers, then you need to learn:

The Jean Secret Formula To Get Ahead: [F² = (A+ V+R) x O + (D+HW)] (F²: Financially Free - A: Attitude - V: Vision - R: Risk - O: Opportunity - D: Discipline - HW: Hard Work). This is not a Concept and Theory, it is not a formula that will revolutionise the science, but it will help change the lives of many individuals. As a consultant and someone who runs his own business, I always focus more on Process and Practical Methodology to help our learners and entrepreneurs to move directly and efficiently, step by step from point A to point B to achieve a specific outcome. Because truly, one of the keys to succeed, in the days of the Internet time, is continuous learning. In fact, it’s a necessity, if you’re not constantly learning, you’ll simply be passed by.

    People on the Minimum Wage

We all have the life experiences and stories that can inspire others to live a better life or run a better business. This book is some kind of answer to a system, which fails to reward effort and commitment for the millions working poor. Live What You Love: The 20 Golden Secrets of Business Attitudes to Succeed shows how you can make a difference and an income at the same time by sharing your life experiences and advice with others. The book is written for everyone who has ever dream of living his/her life free of financial constraints and owning his/her own business.

A significant number of researches have illuminated the consequences of living on low wages. The governments only think about increasing the age of retirement, this more often than not, leave workers unable to lift their own families off the breadline and this is clearly an obscene scandal in many developed countries. Benefit cuts by government busy scything pay packet, filling tax credits forms while it vindictively drives down the value of wages, are an indefensible attack on the living standards of an army of factory workers and unemployed. There are many people and organisations far more qualified than politicians to ameliorate and reverse some of the most pernicious social trends in our communities that cause and perpetuate misery for too many.

In other words, to believe that an army of bureaucrats can solve the problems of the under-privileged workers is to ignore the evidence of the report written by many organisations during the last decade. It is a cold-hearted government that gifts huge tax cuts to the wealthy so-called Elite then blames the unemployed for their joblessness and undermines the income of those who put in a full shift on small wages. After the slavery of black people, we have now entered the slavery of those who are victims of radical religious beliefs and slavery of employees in minimum wage who are not able to lift off their families out of poverty.

I’ve been in the New Deal, fifteen years ago a sort of bogus programme of government; which is run by Job Centre, created by some politicians who do not really care about workers on lower income or unemployed. The system does not really work, except for those that have designed it to fill their pockets. In other words, it works for those who are making money on the back of the government through this New Deal.

The programme is a form of punishment for the unemployed rather than a pathway to employment. This is where it is wrong, you’ve worked all these years yet; you get punished for being made redundant. Everybody who has been in will testify that not just those looking for work feel let down by Job Centre, the environment is equally appalling. Whereby, users seat around doing nothing but to read newspapers that are over a week-old as their source of job search. This is as demoralising and frustrating as New Deal is.

A decent day’s pay for a fair day’s work should be a basic entitlement to all human beings; it is a natural human desire for everybody to want to live a better life. You too will soon enter The Club45-45-45™ or you are already in. You will work 45 hours per week for 45 years to pay tax and bill, to receive 45 percent of what you earn now and that is not enough to live on. At the end of your working days, you will end up with nothing in your hands and die alone. Now is the time to make the biggest difference in the life of your family and yourself, no matter whether you come from homeless or disadvantaged background.

We must understand that the school only provides a survival kit of knowledge, a bit of everything and expert in nothing. Consider that we finished learning only to be at best, very handicapping to our life while the world continues to accelerate its course of development. Today with all the advancements in technology, knowledge, and a superior standard of living, people still live with less hope and an increased sense of deprivation of their wellbeing.

But if you look around, you see that the advent of Internet and Social Media is a blessing; it has reduced the whole world to a new starting point that gives everyone a new opportunity. Is it that you are still waiting for the opportunities of your life? If you act today, you can claim your small piece of knowledge that could have you laughing at any money matter that you might have right now.

Do not stay with what seem to be safe and let drop the opportunities, there is no longer a job security anymore and you can be sacked at any time. I know a lot of people believe on the security, anyway let me tell you something, the only place that is secure in life is prison and no one wants to go there. So, don’t think about security, you create your own security everyday by the steps you take every day. I found this when I was a factory worker after the death of one of our colleagues with ten years of loyal services, the company did not even mention this painful loss during the team break, even symbolically, what a shame! Most of us heard the sad new by rumours; the boss did not value him because he had no value in the market place.

At the same period national TV was broadcasting the news of a missing cat that was found after ten years of disappearance. Would you like to end up like that? This is an opportunity to make the real changes in your life. Do not let someone else take your place. If it is not you who will use these tools, it will be the person in front of you. This small invitation to my
