a lump in the grass,
waiting for a mare
that never returns.

Nicole Zehner is a young poet who has already learned that small observations and different experiences can often lead to big conclusions and the same understanding.

Nicole Zehner

Nicole Zehner was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and first began writing poetry during her freshman year of high school. Currently she attends Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Her writing is inspired by music, nature, and travel. The Last Day of April is her first collection of poems.
