About this ebook

“It’s not a mere claim that Omalugo is an iconic thought and observations carefully expressed in this masterpiece. It is an anticipated, a deliberate, and a focused attempt towards making the reader think and ideologically reason like the human we supposed we are. Remove the humanity in us, we become practically like every other wild animal known to man. ‘Ede’ in Omalugo depicts the like of some born into fragmented and unbargained circumstance, who suffer not because of the fault of theirs but for wickedness in man. ‘Agbomma’ can be literally likened to ordinary beasts, people full of hate, jealousy, and greed, just for the sake of it, tribe that appropriate superiority to themselves.

Omalugo is a knowledge-based book, deliberately encrypted to unlock the mental potentials in us. This hall isn’t designed for the lazy mind “for they have eyes but couldn’t see, and ears but couldn’t hear,” (Jeremiah 5:21). Knowledge is a cosmic phenomenon. It transcends sociopolitical, racial, cultural, and religious boundaries. Love, justice, and equity are natural characteristics of God we claim we have. But any spirituality, knowledge, or education that is void of the aforementioned is a mere fantasy. Truth has been chemically adulterated, morphologically mutilated, and etymologically raped or abused. This actuates the unassailable difficulty in understanding who we are amid the ubiquitous. Suffice it to say, the nature is ever willing for the minds that are sincerely willing to know. I wish you understand as you read. Success always knock at the door of those who do ask questions, who do think, and who are willing to be the change so wished.”

Mazi Chimezie Jude’s level of love and respect for nature has allowed him the ability to draw wisdom from one of life’s oldest civilizations- the animal kingdom. This book for me was a roller coaster ride of emotions. There are moments when I feel as though it is more of an honor to be called an animal than Man. Then there are moments when I feel it is more of an honor to be called Man, even with our flaws. That is because our ability to grow and evolve, despite what we have been through or the vicious cycles we continue to trap ourselves in, there is beauty in our freedom of choice and mind. But first we have to humble ourselves and go back to the first principles. The principles of nature, because she never fails. Not in truth and not in justice. The two things the author has made it very clear, humanity is in dire need of.

Mazi Chimezie Jude L Ogborogu shares through the stories of man and animal cosmic truths. What man knows from intelligence, animals know from instinct. What we learn from this is that animals live within nature, doing what is natural for them. Their existence is preserved by nature; doing, being and having what is natural for them. This is the universal cosmic law of Being – the Science of Living that is demonstrated when one understands the power of thought; the power and interplay between the conscious and subconscious mind that plays throughout the folklore ~Knowing the Self. The best thing that an African can do to effect the African Renaissance, is BEING the African Renaissance, doing their individual part, actively engaging in one’s own individual self development wherever one finds themselves to be. There are no limitations. As Chimezie Jude says, Imagination (subconsciousness) is the power of intelligence (consciousness). During such a performance society will begin to wear a different look as one begins building up the families and communities of which each individually belongs, to acknowledge the truth and find the right path to life. One will demonstrate that there is no dichotomy and segregation in the highest level of spiritual consciousness and the way of truth and justness – the way of Life. When the individual and subsequently the collective understands this, unveiled will be the knowledge of discovering solutions to our human challenges.

MUSINGS

IN THE BEGINNING….

The book Omalugo is a child of circumstance.

It was born out of the need to contribute to the sustenance of our fast vanishing culture and values which were highly regarded and preserved by our ancestors and served as a platform whereby the rest world derived their ideas of foundational formation. With utmost conviction, I’m convinced that people who retain their culture and values will never be found missing in the map of history, which can be culminated by my ancestors who held a view which says that the lizard which derails his route must meet his death untimely.

So for this, I call for a cultural renaissance, to re-establish our values and esteem, promote our language which defines our culture and who we are to the level of wide acceptance. It is indisputable that when a foreign language is in use as a monopoly against the indigenous tongue; it stalls knowledge of the people and kills their evolving potentials; it also serves as a weapon of sabotage. Therefore, we must recall our natural identity, which has become lost and consequently thinned away our natural heritage. On this premise, I reveal that the benefits of nature find pleasure in whoever hijacks your natural identity as allegorically evidenced in the biblical tale of Esau and Jacob, because nature communicates with the living through their natural identities. When we become artificial, we remain helpless, hopeless and useless.

This inspired me in my continuous quest to move away from ignorance with the hope of finding the way of light.

Ignorance is the root and stem of all evil. – Plato

Also, I become inspired by the famous quote of Pythagoras No one is free who has not obtained the knowledge of self, though early said by the Kemetic tradition Know thyself’.

I call on our various leadership to take up a course to support the idea of our cultural resurrection and at the same time, alert them to understand that embezzlement does not contribute to positive development, rather investment does.

Let us rise with the understanding that it is needless to add pepper while making eye syrup. Injustice is a cankerworm in human development, and its effect spreads rapidly like a deadly virus, which will also consume the perpetrator.

I dedicate this book to all the victims of judicious inequity, bad leadership, religious and political wars, as well as tribal and ethnic genocide, which have deeply stalled my people in unprogressive wherewithal. I remember those who laid down their lives for the sake of justice and freedom. No matter your ethnicity, no matter your religion, no matter your language or where you live, no matter the uniform you wear; as long as you are oppressed, you are a victim of injustice and must stand with the affected no matter their location. Truth pierces through the hardest heart of a devil to change him for better or for worse.

The truth remains the best weapon to make the wrong, feel sorry for itself.

The best way to fight for the freedom of the oppressed when you are not physically or financially strong to assist them is to speak the truth that will distress the minds of the oppressors. Make your voice bear the badge of truth and justice while you live.

May it be known to the leaders that the sounds of guns can never put out the fire of truth in human conscience; rather it will escalate the fear of the society. Suffice to say; humans are like water molecules, when greatly compressed or heated, they must repress or seek to escape.

Destined to be a writer, the photographer of thoughts; we should not stop writing
