Mysteries of Dao De Jing (Tao Te Ching) Revealed
()
About this ebook
In Mysteries of Dao De Jing (Tao Te Ching) Revealed, author Dr. Guo Yong Jin dismisses many myths about this great work, including its link to Taoism (a religion founded six hundred years after Lao Zi). Shedding the mystical and surreal, he brings clarity to the teachings by drawing on Lao Zi’s source of inspiration—nature. In this way, Dr. Guo distinguishes his interpretation of Dao De Jing from those before him. The typical interpretation focuses on the semantics of Lao Zi’s written word; Dr. Guo, however, returns to the roots of Dao De Jing, using simple observations of nature to clarify the text.
Dao De Jing lays bare the truths and realities of life and the universe. It explains the origins of life and the principles upon which the universe operates. Though much of Dao De Jing is mirrored in science and psychology, the ancient text offers an even deeper understanding. It is neither superstitious nor religious, nor is it a personal philosophy. Dao De Jing is simply wisdom in its essence.
Dr. Guo Yong Jin
Dr. Guo Yong Jin was born in Taiwan in 1955, and he started to probe the truth of the universe and reality when he was just a teenager. He spent three decades studying both religious and secular philosophies, and in 1999 following an earthquake in Taiwan, Dr. Guo realized the ultimate truth and felt a great calling to become a volunteer of the whole world. He believes humanity needs to become a community of shared life, and he hopes Mysteries of Dao De Jing (Tao Te Ching) Revealed can be an enlightening guide for fellow seekers and world volunteers.

INTRODUCTION OF AUTHOR
Dr. Guo Yong Jin was born in Taiwan in 1955. He started to probe into the truth of the universe and the reality of life as an early teen. During three decades of searching and studying, he has been open to all religions and philosophies, from Buddhism to Christianity, from modern psychology to ancient morals. Then, in 1999, the earthquake that struck Taiwan on September 21 made him realize the ultimate truth he had been longing for—it also changed his life path. He had a career as a Chinese medical doctor and had already made a name for himself. Nevertheless, since he learnt the ultimate truth, the great calling deep inside drove him to the point that he quit being a doctor and became a volunteer of the whole world,
as he often describes himself.
His sole purpose ever since has been to help the people of the world to awaken. His early works included the book Agama: The Liberation Path, the lectures on topics such as The Profound Meanings of Diamond Sutra,
The Sixth Patriarch Sutra,
No Boundaries,
"The Aspirations of Dao De Jing, etc. In recent years, with the ever-fierce global warming effect that endangers our environment as a whole, the need for humanity to realize that we are nothing but
a community of shared life" has been elevated to a higher level. To help people learn the nature of this long-lost truth, he shows us that Dao De Jing has the answers and solutions needed to target the root of all. It is the elevation of the collective mind quality of humanity.
Since 2009, he has been making speeches and lectures regarding Dao De Jing on different occasions with different perspectives. The topics include "The Essence of Dao De Jing,
The Profound Meanings of Dao De Jing,
The Wisdom and Application of Dao De Jing," etc.
In 2017, he finished writing Mysteries of Dao De Jing Revealed, which he describes as the one book that each family should keep in their house to either solve their daily issues or serve as an enlightening guidance.
As he often says, My life hasn’t been about me ever since 2000.
Indeed, Dr. Guo has been propagating the concepts of a community of shared life
and the Earth is our mother
as well as environmental protection and eco-village lifestyle since then. His schedule each year consists of year-round courses held in different cities and countries all over the world. Wherever he’s needed, he’ll be there. Moreover, all of his works have been done in a charitable fashion, just as he has devoted himself as a volunteer for the whole world.
Dr. Guo spends most of his time in mainland China, dividing it among several major study centres in Hangzhou, Shandong, and Jilin as well as with book clubs in Sichuan, Wuhan, Nanjing, Shenzhen, etc. In recent years, he has also helped in Malaysia and Australia on a regular basis.
PREFACE
Lao Zi (also Lao-Tzu or Lao-Tze) was an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer. His book, Dao De Jing (or Tao Te Ching) has been in circulation for more than 2,500 years. There are many versions and more than one thousand annotations, yet most readers still find it difficult to understand, let alone apply in daily life. Thus Dao De Jing is often misunderstood and regarded as containing mystical teachings disconnected from reality.
In fact, Dao De Jing lays bare the truths and realities of life and the universe. It explains the origins of life and the
