Reviews for Henry Marlon
3 ratings1 review
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In Ram Kadam's genre-bending novel "Henry Marlon and the Truth," readers are taken on a metaphysical journey that blurs the lines between reality and the mystical. The premise is fascinatingly complex - the book titled "Henry Marlon and The Truth" contains the entire life cycle and secrets of the protagonist Henry Marlon. However, this powerful tome also has the potential to upend Henry's very existence if it falls into the wrong hands or is misused.
The concept that one's fate could be so intricately tied to the words in a book is ingenious and rife with thrilling possibilities. Kadam does an excellent job maintaining an aura of mystery around "The Truth" and its cosmic significance. The plot is gripping, with high stakes that keep the pages turning as Henry races against nefarious forces vying for the book.Character development is a strength, as Henry grows from a rather ordinary man into a resolute hero committed to safeguarding his life's story. The supporting cast, from allies to adversaries, are also well-fleshed out. Worldbuilding too is quite immersive, seamlessly blending contemporary real-world elements with supernatural phenomena.
That said, the novel's ambitious premise isn't always fully realized. While intriguing, the metaphysical rules around "The Truth's" powers are somewhat convoluted and could have used tighter explanations. There are also a few plot threads left somewhat unresolved by the ending.
Overall, "Henry Marlon and the Truth" is a unique, imagination-fueled thrill ride that book lovers seeking something different from the norm will likely devour. Ram Kadam's audacious creativity shines through in this compelling and thought-provoking tale that makes you re-evaluate the malleability of one's destiny. It gets a strong recommendation, especially for fans of fiction that pushes boundaries.

Henry Marlon and the Truth about Previous Births
14 February 2015, morning
Henry Marlon, a fair, slim, and tall man with dark-brown curls on his forehead, arrives in his car at the centrally located Guardian Church in Paris. He expresses his grief before Father Andrew, a very calm and composed man who is fair, short, and fat; has a big mole on his left cheek; and is wearing long vestments. He has all the information about the church.
Henry says, ‘Father, I get nightmares in the night. I want to know everything about my previous birth and also regarding my future.’
Father Andrew replies, ‘Henry, I cannot help you in this matter.’
‘Probably I was cursed for something in my previous birth, and that is causing me trouble in this birth.’
‘Henry, you pray to God. All your misdeeds will be forgiven, and all your sorrows will be transformed into happiness. If you have any trouble, then you will definitely get a solution for this.’
‘Perhaps you can show me some way out of this.’
‘Yes! A gentleman named Orbit will tell you about your previous birth and also regarding your future. He is the right person for this.’
‘Where can I get Orbit’s address?’
‘You will find Orbit in the north end of Paris.’
‘I am grateful to you for giving me appropriate guidance.’
Henry straight away goes to the north end in his car and starts enquiring about Orbit.
Orbit lives in a deserted house there. Henry knocks on the door of Orbit’s house. Orbit opens the door. Henry looks directly into Orbit’s eyes.
Orbit is a fair man with grey hair and long beard, and his body looks drained, probably because of his old age.
‘Are you Orbit?’ Henry asks.
Orbit replies, ‘Yes, I am Orbit.’
‘I am Henry.’
‘Yes, Henry Marlon.’
‘What? You know me?’
‘Yes, but it seems you don’t remember me as we haven’t met for years.’
‘I do not recognize you.’
‘But I recognize you.’
‘What do you mean?’ Henry asks.
Orbit replies, ‘I was waiting for you.’
‘What? Waiting for me?’
‘Because I still have the book named Truth, which you gave me in your previous birth, and only you can read that book.’
‘I don’t remember my previous birth. I haven’t given you any book named Truth. I think you have some kind of misunderstanding.’
‘Marlon Kingdom submerged into the Dead Sea after your death. Due to this fear, you had given me this book named Truth, which tells about your future, and since then, I have safely kept this book with me.’
‘That means you know about my previous birth.’
‘Yes! I know about your previous birth. Your name was Henry Marlon in that birth too.’
‘Henry Marlon …’
‘There is a huge resemblance in your face in that birth and this birth too.’
Orbit takes out the book Truth from the cupboard and gives it to Henry. Henry brushes the dust off Truth and reads the name written on the book.
‘Truth … What information can I get from this book?’
Orbit replies, ‘You will get all information about yourself. This book was written only for you, and probably only you know the truth mentioned in it. The book Truth is written in each of your births.’
‘What? In each birth?’
‘You will definitely benefit from this book. Through Truth, you will not only know about your future but also be able to find information about your unknown past.’
‘Is there any other information regarding Truth and me?’
Orbit says, ‘The book Truth contains information about you and Marlon Kingdom, which can only be read by you as the related inner power is inside you. The book Truth will fulfil all your desires. This book Truth will be inspirational for you.’
‘Really! Inspirational?’
‘Truth tells about your future along with your past.’
‘That’s why this book Truth is positive for me.’
‘Yes!’
‘Orbit, I will take my leave now. I am very grateful to you.’
Henry goes back to his car and then to his house, named Silver Moon. He falls asleep while reading the book Truth.
Henry Marlon’s Future
A few years ago
Perpetually dressed in black, the very aged God Swara is sitting in the centre of his majestic throne in heaven. He has a long nose, slightly grey hair, and sunken eyes due to old age, and he is heavily built.
Two of his servants—the extremely calm old Lord Iris, who has grey hair and a long beard hanging to his chest, and the slightly aggressive old Solaris, who has an average height and natural grey hair—are sitting on below the throne.
‘Lord Iris and Lord Solaris, we have to protect earth,’ God Swara says.
‘Yes, protect the earth,’ says Lord Iris.
‘That is why I have given the Brahmgiri State to Lord Iris and the Devnagri State to Solaris,’ God Swara says.
‘Yes!’ Solaris says.
‘Lord Iris, you got Brahmgiri because you worship the moon. Solaris, you got Devnagri because you worship the sun,’ God Swara says.
‘Yes, of course,’ says Solaris.
‘Solaris, you showed faith in me, so I told you to write the book Truth. It contains the future of Ram and his reincarnation, Henry Marlon. Only he can read this,’ God Swara says.
‘I am going to write the future of Ram and Henry according to their zodiac signs in the book named Truth,’ Solaris says.
‘And, Iris, you live with Ram and his reincarnation, Henry Marlon, as spectator and give him appropriate guidance regarding the Truth,’ God Swara says.
‘I will definitely give appropriate guidance to Ram or his reincarnation, Henry Marlon, regarding the book Truth,’ Lord Iris says.
‘Solaris, once you have completed the writing the book Truth, your life in Devnagri will be completed, and after that, you will have to live in outer space, named Soham,’ God Swara says.
‘Why?’ Solaris asks.
‘Because if your existence will remain as it is, then there will be discussion regarding the book Truth. And due to this, the existence of Ram or his reincarnation, Henry Marlon, will come to an end,’ God Swara says.
‘Yes. Discussion,’ Solaris says.
‘And your son, Marcus, will be the king of Devnagri after you,’ God Swara says.
‘Yes. Marcus.’
‘And that’s why you are going to enter the outer space, Soham,’ God Swara says.
‘But how will I enter the outer space, Soham?’ Solaris asks.
‘You utter the word Soham three times, then you will be able to enter the outer space, Soham,’ says God Swara.
‘And what will happen if I utter Soham three times?’ Lord Iris asks.
‘Then Solaris will appear before you in the form of divine power.’
‘Why?’ Iris asks.
‘Because this outer space, Soham, is only for the people of Devnagri.’
‘Isn’t there any outer space like Soham for Brahmgiri?’ Iris asks.
‘No, all the souls go to Brahmgiri after death,’ God Swara says.
‘And enjoy the life of Devnagri when alive,’ Solaris says.
God Swara replies, ‘Yes. Devnagri.’
‘And that’s why I am going to enter outer space, Soham, alive?’
‘Yes. Soham,’ Iris says.
Solaris says, ‘And whoever utters the word Soham three times, I will reveal my existence before him.’
God Swara says, ‘That’s why you will have to enter outer space Soham after writing the book Truth and reveal your existence for many births.’
‘Swara, I will certainly fulfil the responsibility of writing the book Truth,’ Solaris says.
‘And I take the responsibility of guiding Henry.’
‘But if any person’s blood comes in contact with the book Truth, then he will be able to read the future of Henry Marlon precisely,’ Solaris said.
Lord Iris says, ‘I take the responsibility of wholeheartedly preserving this book.’
Solaris says, ‘We should keep the book Truth with utmost care, because it contains the future and many other secret things of Ram and his reincarnation, Henry Marlon.’
‘Solaris is going to write the book Truth. We will have to be cautious about this,’ Swara says.
‘If the book Truth is safe, then Henry Marlon will be also safe.’
Solaris says, ‘I will write the book Truth with utmost care.’
Lord Iris says, ‘And I have to carefully keep the book Truth with me, and I will see to it that it does not get lost.’
‘Because if this book Truth gets lost, then Henry Marlon will not be born.’
‘Why?’ Iris asks.
God Swara replies, ‘Because the book Truth contains the life span of Henry. If some other person finds this book, then he can reveal the existence of Henry by misusing this book, due to which Henry’s birth will be meaningless.’
Solaris says, ‘Swara, I will write the book Truth with my divine power. I don’t think anyone will misuse that in this way.’
‘And even if Truth is anywhere else, I have strong apprehension that Henry Marlon will perfectly complete his term without Truth,’ Lord Iris says. ‘But we are writing Truth to guide Henry, and just because of that, Henry’s future will hold some meaning.’
‘Ram is going to struggle, so he will be born under the Aries sun sign. And Henry will rule, so he will be born under the Leo sun sign,’ Solaris says.
‘What does that mean?’ Lord Iris asks.
‘There is a difference of 1,000 years between the lifespan of Ram and Henry Marlon.’
Lord Iris asks, ‘One thousand
