About this ebook

We have all heard or read a lot of urban tales or street stories. Some are tragic, but all endings arent disastrous. This story is about Tiffany. Contrary to other beliefs, roses do grow in the ghetto, right up through the concrete. Keep in mind that all roses do have thorns. Who will volunteer to walk in Tiffanys shoes?

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I WOULD LIKE TO thank GOD first for seeing me through, as well as sending me angels to help guide me in my time of need. Angels helped me see clearly, and console me when my heart was very heavy and my eyes where cloudy.

I want to dedicate this book to a big inspiration in my life, who now is a great friend. This person observed me, saw the good in me and told me all that he thought I was worth, from the outside looking in. In all innocents of course! THANK YOU, DOUGLAS, for believing in me!! You gave me an eye opener by touching my heart, my mind and inspired me not only to write this book but introduced me to the new version of me. You are an AWSOME person!

Thank you also to my children, you keep me SO motivated, encouraged and focused. I promise to achieve every goal that I put forth for not only myself, but for us, I love you two SOOO MUCH!!!

    LOVE GRAY

    By Rosheka Mullins

    Value the colors of understanding,

Trust that every shade is beautiful, unique, and true to light,

Use each shade to its fullest potential.

Share the beauty of a gift, born sensory, or metaphor

Allow the light to shine on it, as if it is the only color in existence

Never let any other choose your preference but mold you to its understanding and enhance it

It is different, sometimes unusual and does not need disgrace,

It just means that it just requires a lot more love and extra attention

Care for it as you care for yourself and love it as if you love yourself

    Embrace indifference!

    CHAPTER 1

    The Beginning

O N A COLD winter day, in about twenty-five degree weather, in Crumpville, Texas, December 17 th , 1976 to be exact, I was born. Tiffany White a beautiful healthy baby girl, to a woman named Caren. A 20-year-old, mother of two, later becoming complete with a third child, two girls, Tasha myself and a boy named Tyree (Booda).…. We all knew one another, but we never lived together as a whole family under the same household. Maybe because life never allowed us or maybe because God never allowed us. Either way, we were all separated through ignorance, foster care and the prison system.

Life with Caren as I can remember was so vague, rough and cold. I was raised in the foster system, where the Department of Human Services monitored my safety, and then eventually placed me back with my mother.

The lady I thought was my mother as a child turned out to be my foster mother. I called her Nana, Elizabeth Summet was her name, born January 2nd, 1902. She was very spiritual, an educator and influencer. Nana was a smart woman, who taught me
