When Baldie Cries: Coerced Equality and Welfare Greed Destroy America
By Jason O’Neil
()
About this ebook
The story is about an antigravity device called a Red Box that enables a new vehicle called a Turbopod, which is a car, airplane, and helicopter all in one.
The inventor, Matt Flynn, uses several chapters and some alarming statistics to assess the state of the economy that no longer can sustain the dozens of welfare programs developed by previous administrations to redistribute the national wealth via coerced equality measures.
Alarmed by this sad state of events, Matt redesigned a Riverine Turbopod into an R-Pod with nasty nanowasps capable of quelling urban demonstrations.
President Werner, frustrated by Congresss refusal to slash budgets and with only six months left in his second term, addresses the nation with a plan to dramatically curtail government spending. He knows that the leftist media will fan the flames of civil unrest, leading to violent demonstrations. Matts R-Pods slow the rate of uprisings in order to buy time to evacuate his administration.
In the meantime, Matts wife, Heather, serves as the project manager to move the Flynn family from Key Biscayne to a Caribbean paradise and, ultimately, far from Americas new experiment in socialism. The family enjoys the good life while imagining a tear falling from the once-proud bald eagles eye.

NIGHTMARE
On a lazy Sunday morning Matt Flynn and his wife, Heather, were enjoying breakfast by their swimming pool at their Key Biscayne mansion in Florida. Matt put down the newspaper and had a serious frown on his face.
What’s wrong, Matt?
You look really troubled.
Is it something you read in the newspaper?
asked Heather.
No, dear. It isn’t that,
responded the billionaire genius, inventor of several novel vehicles.
Heather, I had a horrible nightmare last night where I saw a bald eagle, our symbolic national bird, crying,
replied Matt.
O.K. And why was the bald eagle crying?
asked Heather.
Matt answered with a quiet tone in his voice: The bird was witnessing the decline and fall of the American Experiment. Our way of life will soon be gone.
Honey, that’s a very scary thought,
replied Heather. How is it so, and what is the cause?
It’s complicated,
replied Matt. There are many causes, but the fundamental underlying cause can be summarized in one word:
Greed."
I’m trying to follow,
responded Heather. In simple terms, what do you mean?
Matt took a sip of coffee, put his cup down on the glass-top table and began to explain his logic. Back in the 1920’s a Soviet economist, Nicholas Kondratiev, predicted the fall of Communism due to the inherent failure of a true socialist society. And, sure enough, 65 years later in the 1980’s, Communism in the Soviet Union crumbled because of an inability to give the citizens a decent living. The public was exposed to the Western lifestyle and wanted more than just survival. They wanted things that made life easier and more comfortable. In essence, they were being swayed by the need for possessions just like in the Western world.
Matt continued: "Now it’s clear that the same fate will befall Western democracies. Indeed, if you research the primary democracies throughout history, you’ll find they typically last 200 years before the collective greed of the masses creates an unsustainable economy via welfare programs. Particularly, the urban lower classes want to be taken care of by the Government without contributing anything to the nation, like gainful employment or creating work for others. Today, America’s democratic experiment is 242 years old and look around. You’ll see tens of millions of people on the public dole via a wide variety of payments and subsidies of all kinds. Heather, it’s truly scary when you read some of the statistics. Here a just a few:
– One out of three or 110 million American adults do not have a job
– 55% of Americans believe that the American Dream either never existed or that it no longer does
– In each of the past six years, more businesses have closed than opened
– 1.5 million jobs are being replaced by robots annually
– 43 million Americans have unpaid medical debt
– Home ownership has fallen for seven years in a row
– 47 million Americans collect food stamps
– 65% of all children are in a home that received Federal aid
– More than one-half of all American workers make less than $30,000 per year
– A typical American family can only replace 21 days of income with readily accessible funds
– The average couple over the age of 65 has less than $30,000 saved for retirement
And, in essence, the key to a recovery is middle-class jobs, the very ones which are being offshored or replaced by technology. So, it doesn’t take long, and the recipient feels entitled to the gifts from the State without doing anything, or least very little, to earn them. It’s so bad that women have more babies, usually out of wedlock, to qualify for additional benefits."
Now, guess what, my love?
asked Matt.
What?
responded Heather.
What happens when the Government’s leaders realize that the situation is no longer sustainable, and the only route to economic, indeed national survival, is to drastically cut or eliminate welfare programs?
asked Matt.
Well, the answer is quite tragic, I suppose,
replied Heather.
Yes, my dear,
said Matt. "It’s the beginning of the breakdown of social stability. And fanned by government-employee unions, the most entitled people on the planet, as well as unions of all kinds, the people take to the streets and demand the benefits. The so-called Organizations for Action (OFA’s) use the minority organizations, the political infrastructure, the leftist Judiciary and the biased media to pick up the banner of entitlement, often fanning the hatred of racism. Things go from bad to worse very quickly, and the result is riots, looting and the killing of fellow citizens, particularly ones who represent authority like the police. And, if a policeman kills a person out of self-defense, the organizers are emboldened by the liberal media and runaway social viral strings to hold more marches and rallies. Spineless politicians jump on the bandwagon because they want the votes and don’t have to personally pay for the consequences. Indeed, they have their own, protected welfare programs with unconscionable benefits. In essence, they have what is called a ‘sincecure’ or high-paying job for little or no work. So, what prevails, while not true socialism which has the Government owning the industries and all production, are
