Author

Daniel Sullivan Jr.

About the Author In a small town called Woodbine, GA., the author's journey of life began. His simple life started on dirt roads and farmland; elements which would ultimately influence his future success in life. Daniel grew up in a home where rules were enforced by his parents to ensure he lived a structured lifestyle. Eventually he would stray away from this path, which was paved with rebellion. He became the creator of his own way and sought redemption in women, drugs, sex, alcohol, music and crime. Many years were spent trying to push through the struggles within his tug of war. As his personal war intensified, a change of heart, a change of ways, a different approach and perception of life defined the art of his war. Pushing through is traditional, but possessing the ability to pull back brings radical victory daily! From schools, businesses, prisons, churches and communities abroad, He uses these lessons to mentor, motivate and stir movement in stagnant individuals who desire to conquer themselves.

    In everything, give thanks!

I give thanks always to my God and my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Your unselfish love and long-suffering has always been displayed toward me even when I chose the wrong path. I was never left alone.

To my mother, Barbara Sullivan, and late father, Daniel Sullivan Sr., they that sow in tears shall reap in joy! Let the reaping begin! DeOnte’, I pray the words from these pages attach themselves to your heart and provide you with the motivation needed to conquer daily wars. BreAna and Jeffery, continue to pull away from people, places, and things designed to hinder you from achieving success. Veronica, Talvin, and Melba, you all were on the inside, looking out. Thanks for the support on the inside. Now the results are out. Elainna, Travius, Teanna, Tia, Temperance, Imri, and Elon (the seed royal, 2 Kings 11:1 KJV), never be influenced by the negative, but use it as a stepping-stone to your dreams. Finally, to my circumstances, faults, and failures, I embrace your existence. You have inspired me to pursue hard after my purpose!

Wars are won by individuals who consistently conquer themselves!

    INTRODUCTION

T HE GAME TUG-OF-WAR has been recognized as one of the most competitive sports known to man. A game of strength, stamina, and persistence, it is the ultimate test of one’s will. Those who choose to involve themselves in this sport cannot begin in doubt, fear, or incompetence. There are certain dangers associated with this war if an individual is not physically, mentally, or emotionally prepared. In order to ensure the safety of the individuals, the rules and regulations are reviewed before the game commences.

The war always starts with the Captain, who is chosen by his or her peers. The Captain then carefully scans available individuals who he or she believes will be instrumental in leading their team to victory. The team members are strategically placed where the Captain deems necessary. The placement of each individual is determined by his or her strengths and weaknesses. A major component in the selection process is the Captain being
