About this ebook

Marshal Book 10 is a fast-paced adventure story with some not-so-super heroes. In the Abductors, you will find yourself in the middle of all the action. If you can believe in aliens, you can believe in Marshal and everything in this book.

Warning! This book contains adult themes (not rude or crude), exciting adventure, and good science fiction guaranteed not to insult your intelligence.

Marshal and his crew of superheroes respond to emergencies and protect the earth from a never-ending stream of threats including humans. Life on Earth has never been quite the same after the coming of Marshal. This is the tenth book in the series, but it is written to bring new readers up to speed fast.

I write to entertain. I try to put you in the middle of the action. You will know what is going on and how it feels and sounds like. You will experience the emotions of the characters. The book is self-censoring for more sensitive readers, warning them in advance and giving the reader the option to read on and experience all the blow-by-blow action or allowing them to read on a little and then skip to the next break to pick up on the action.

I write to entertain. Sometimes the action may become too graphic or intense for more sensitive readers. It is not meant to be rude, crude, or pornographic, but things can and do get intense at times. I am trying to put you, the reader, in the middle of the action, and it should be intense if it is any good. I do give my readers advance warning so they may skip the more graphic action if they so choose. Also, I cannot spell worth a darn. So please excuse me if anything slipped past the proofreaders.

    FOREWORD

For those not familiar with the Marshal story, Marshal, that’s his name and his job, is an interstellar lawman stranded on Earth. He lost his memory and most of his equipment when the Russians mistook his damaged star ship for a doomsday meteor and shot it down.

Marshal is big, blue and incredibly strong. He speaks with a strange speech pattern due to a head injury and broken translator that works intermittently; the closer you are, the better the translator works.

Brandy Holmes, a member of the Illinois National Guard, found the remains of the crashed ship and Marshal’s apparently dead body. Not wanting the government to cover it up as they had at Roswell, she took the body to the news media.

Marshal was revived and other aliens were also recovered and revived. The soldiers that helped in the recovery of Marshal’s body started to die off from an unknown form of radiation poisoning. Brandy was the last to survive and upon discovering this, Marshal used his uniform jacket to revive her. Brandy was being slowly dissolved and the molecules that made up her body were beginning to fall apart. The nanobots in Marshal’s jacket used the only viable cell structure they knew to reconstruct her body, giving her incredible superhuman strength and endurance.

The other aliens turned out to be criminals being transported to a prison. When this was learned, the aliens escaped and it fell to Marshal to help the humans recapture them. He was assisted by Earth’s first superhero, Brandy Holmes, calling herself Dauntless.

The remains of Marshal’s ship were too deeply imbedded beneath the surface and too big to be moved, so the Air Force built the Ground Zero Complex over the crash sight and continued to study the remaining alien technology. The nearby secret research lab in the Truman College campus was converted into the new HQ for the Heroic Emergency Response Organization under the offices of the United Nations. The 5th Special Group of the US Army was attached to provide the necessary support and placed under the command of Major General Solo.

The ships cryo units were also used as a containment center for the recaptured aliens. A worker unwittingly released an alien bug known as the Harbinger. The Harbinger is an interstellar parasite that attaches itself to another being and transforms the host body to conform to the needs of the hive. Heather Carter was being transformed into a drone when she was rescued by Marshal, and he once again used his jacket to stabilize her. The reaction between the nanobots and alien chemistry in her bloodstream gave her amazing speed; making her Earth’s second truly superhuman superhero, called Superstar.

The heroes were called upon to provide heroic responses to several emergencies as they came up over the passage of time. Some alien escaped, and other alien technology was stolen and misused, leading to disastrous outcomes.

One dying alien gave his mind-over-matter powers to Dr. Beverly Cooly as she tried to save his life. She developed amazing mental abilities and became the fourth superhero, called Super Doc. And now, Colonel Otis is working with her, trying to help her master her new powers.

Marshal is still having trouble communicating and understanding life on this strange alien world. Superstar is enjoying being the center of attention, while Dauntless and the others struggle to adjust to the unwanted changes to their lives.

Unknown by the heroes, Dr. Alisa Runnoff has built a secret lab in Chicago using stolen funds and technology and is using her access to the heroes to grow an army of super humans for her own unknown, undoubtedly evil, reasons.

Book nine held many changes for HERO Col (full colonel) Otis was equipped with alien technology, making him Force Commander.

Dauntless was killed in action. Superstar is missing presumed dead, kidnapped by an escaped patient using stolen alien technology from a secret government hospital.

Dotty Mercer, another teenage patient from the same secret hospital, has gained the ability to summon lightning and wants to join HERO, making Col. Otis miserable.

And as if that wasn’t enough, alien treasure hunters are drawing closer to the Earth, searching for Marshal’s ship and its valuable cargo.

    IMPORTANT NOTE

    The book is self-censoring.

At times, as would be expected with any good adventure story, parts of the story may be too intense for more sensitive readers. Not rude, crude, or pornographic, but too intense for some, and that’s OK. When reader discretion is advised, the reader is informed when approaching a section containing violence or sex and advised how far to skip and not miss out on the plot or action. You are encouraged to skim through the text until you reach the break in the action.

    Not intended for younger readers.

    CHAPTER ONE

    SAVING CANADIAN BACON

A dusting of snow and ice sparkled as the blue flashing lights on half a dozen squad cars lit up the neighborhood like a carnival. The police in their flak vests, weapons drawn, told a different story. Residents gathered in the shadows to watch the all to familiar scene of Chicago police moving to surround a home in this south side community.

One by one, the people looked up in astonishment as the sound of a turbo fan engine got their attention. A flying car slowly descended out of the blackness overhead. The open top craft had three occupants all dressed in white jackets. The car landed in the street behind the row of police cars kicking up a small cloud of snow. The pilot stood up as the engines spooled down. Looking up at the other two flying cars that were just now coming into view, he waved them on saying, You can return to HQ. We’ll take care of this and join you there.

The two flying cars sped off as the three of them got out and made their way to the police sergeant standing nearby. The very well-endowed woman tugging at her lab coat trying to keep warm caught the sergeant’s attention first. I’m Force Commander, this is Super Doc, and the big blue one is Marshal, Colonel Otis said.

I know who you are. But we didn’t call for HERO so what brings you here?

We were after the Super Girls gang, but they got away before we could get there. We were on our way back to base when we saw your little light show, and decided to see if you needed any help. What’s going on?

It’s Saturday night in Chicago, so same old same old. A gang banger with a gun has taken a hostage and we’ve surrounded the house.

Have you sent for your hostage negotiator?

They’re all busy on other calls.

Marshal stepped up saying, I have been studying human culture for some time now. Would it be agreeable for me to go in and attempt to negotiate the release of the hostage and end this encounter?

The sergeant eyed him up and down and reluctantly replied,I don’t know.

There is little reason to be concerned for my safety. There is little they can do that will cause me any harm.

He can pick up the house and throw it into the lake, Force Commander added.

He’s not that strong is he?

No, not really, but pretty close.

The sergeant took a couple of seconds to ponder it. The six foot two, 600 pound wall of muscle with blue skin did have a point. It’s not your safety I’m concerned about.

I will do everything to ensure the safety of the hostage.

The sergeant looked around. What have I got to lose. Go ahead.

Marshal took off his utility belt and handed it to Force Commander, saying, I will not be in need of this.

Marshal made his way up the icy walk to the front door. This is Marshal. I am unarmed and I am going to enter this structure with the intention of negotiating with you the release of your hostage. You are advised not to harm the hostage or your actions will most likely be met with force.

A voice from inside the house called out, STAY OUT THERE OR YOU’LL GET IT!

Marshal opened the door and went in saying, I desire nothing of you except your cooperation. You were not listening, I advise you not to resort to force.

Beverly, looking on, looked astonished, He’s getting better, isn’t he?

What do you mean by that? the concerned police sergeant asked.

He has been having trouble adjusting to Earth doors and has broken down quite a few.

Oh. The sergeant didn’t sound too reassured by her comments.

Two shots rang out from inside the house. The front window exploded and the gang banger came sailing out. He flew thirty feet through the air and came crashing down on the hood of a police car. He was instantly pounced on by half a dozen police officers.

Super Doc sprang up and confronted him, and just stood there studying him for a few seconds. She pronounced, No injuries. You’re lucky he didn’t hit you.

Who says he didn’t hit me? I was assaulted by that alien!

No, he only threw you out the window. If he had hit you, you would be going to the hospital. Take him away, he’s all yours.

A cheer went up as Marshal exited the house with the woman uninjured, but shaken, by his side. The big blue Aurorean waved to the crowd as the lights of a TV news crew lit up the scene.

Force Commander, what is HERO doing here? You don’t normally get involved in this sort of thing. Does this have anything to do with the mysterious gang of super girls who have been terrorizing the city? a reporter asked.

No, we just happened to be passing by and stopped to lend a hand. Now if you’ll excuse us, Super Doc seems to be turning as blue as our alien partner.

Turning to Beverly, the reporter asked, Super Doc are you all right?

I lost the button on my lab coat and it wont stay closed. You try going around in a bustier and a lab coat and see how you feel in this weather.

    Oh, a minor wardrobe malfunction.

Minor for you maybe, but not with these girls it isn’t, Beverly motioned to her oversized bosom.

How could you know he had no injuries?

I used my powers to look inside him. No broken bones, only some minor bruising from landing on the police car.

Marshal came walking up to the police sergeant and handed him two deformed lead slugs saying, See, no penetration at all. Here, you may have them as evidence or as a souvenir of tonight.

The bewildered police officer took the smashed bullets and looked on in amazement, saying, But he ain’t got no vest on. Nothing at all."

The next day, Colonel Otis aka Force Commander, found himself in the Pentagon. The lights came on in a briefing room. Colonel Otis was standing holding the memory helmet. Seated at the table around him were a number of higher-ranking Army officers and men in suits. He explained What you have just seen was part of the recorded memories made using the memory helmet in the hospital. As you can see, Marshal does not represent a threat to us. Think of it as an instant library of alien knowledge. If we tamper with it, trying to learn how it works, we will lose all of the knowledge stored inside it. Think of what we have to lose.

But think of the possibility if we learn how it works, one of the civilians at the table spoke up.

Another of the men seated at the table leaned forward to ask, How accurate is it?

It is the record of several different memories combined by the helmet’s computer. It records not only what was seen but felt, and the emotions of the viewer. Any additional computerized records are also incorporated into it to make a more complete and accurate record. It is extremely accurate.

A four star general leaned back in his chair and asked, I noticed that there was nothing about this gang of super girls in your report. What can you tell us about that?

They appear to be similar to the meta-human Sue and Lilly the Chinese created, but they’re not clones. We do not yet know who is responsible for them. They just seem to appear and cause trouble. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to their appearances. It’s like teenage girls up to mischief that gets out of hand. And being super human they sort of cause all sorts of trouble. But they always escape before we can catch them.

Is there any news concerning the kidnapped agent?

We are still hopeful of finding Superstar and bringing her home safely.

And what of your newest hero in training?

Dotty is not ready. She is only a teenage girl.

    Dotty?

Oh, sorry sir. Dorothy Mercer, sorry, We have all come to know her as Dotty.

Very well Dotty it is. With the loss of Dauntless and Superstar you need all the help you can get and she sounds very promising. I want you to work directly with her and bring her up to speed quickly.

Me sir? Wouldn’t she be better prepared by normal instructors?

There are no normal instructors. And besides, you have recently gone through the hero transformation and I can think of no one better suited to do it. Do I make myself clear?

Yes general. I’ll see to it myself.

The conversation switched to dealing with aliens, the United Nations man date and equipping the HERO organization. A couple of hours later he came out of the meeting room, followed by one of the suited men, asking, All of the women in HERO seem to be rather well endowed. Is there a reason?

Doctor Brewvill speculates that the energy that powers their super powers is stored in body fat the same as with normal energy and their bodies just seem to adjust to the increased need for energy storage that way. Now if you’ll excuse me senator, one of those young ladies is waiting for me.

    Colonel,…

I know, it’s a dirty job but some body has to do it. They parted with a chuckle.

In the nearby waiting room, an attractive and smartly dressed teenage girl was the center of attention, surrounded by three soldiers not much older then she was. When she realized the colonel had come in she immediately greeted him. You were in there for ages. What did they say? The three enlisted men instantly backed away from her.

It seems we’re stuck with each other.

She instantaneously sprang up and embraced the older soldier, almost knocking him down. And we’ll never be unstuck, she joyfully announced.

He protested and managed to free himself from her embrace. He led her down the hallway attracting the attention of soldiers as they passed by in the polished halls of the pentagon. saying, Not here in the pentagon. Control yourself.

Maybe she’s his daughter, a passing sailor commented.

She wasn’t acting like a daughter, his marine friend replied.

As Dotty was doing her best to gain the affection of the colonel and causing him a great deal of uneasiness about three hundred miles to the west, four rednecks were gathered in a snow-covered barn.

    This had better be good.

What’s so darn special about this one anyway? another of them asked.

Dalton led them around and directed their attention to the corner of the barn. A blonde girl in her twenties with a perfect body was tied up, spread-eagle, nude. She strained to break free but the steel cables that bound her were too much for her. Duct tape covered her mouth, but the rage in her eyes was clear to all.

She’s the best ever. You can do anything to her and I do mean anything. You can cut her and she just heals up in a few seconds. And boy can she f***, Dalton finished his sales pitch by stroking her platinum hair and groping her large breast. Now tell me she ain’t worth two hundred for half an hour.

The next day in the gymnasium of the HERO HQ building, The colonel’s opponent flew at him wind milling punch after punch, all of which he easily blocked or dodged. The colonel threw no punched in return; it was pointless. She had no fighting skills to speak of. His opponent was a pretty seventeen-year-old girl who wanted to be a hero.

He wore a T-shirt and sweat pants while she wore a tank top and ski pants. She was one of those well-endowed women the senator had been referring to. She could easily pass as a twenty-something sex kitten, a fact that made the colonel’s job all the more difficult.

Come on Dotty. You can do better than this, he encouraged her. But she probably saw it as taunting, because she tugged at her boxing gloves and launched herself at him with renewed furor. Her attacks came fast and furious, but were all easily blocked. As the intensity of her attacks grew, so did her frustration.

She became dejected with her own futility and stepped back let tingher boxing gloves drop to her sides. What’s the point of all of this? I can’t even hit you, she protested as she caught her breath.

The general wants me to evaluate you and train you. And you have to be able to defend yourself.

But I don’t want to fight you.

I don’t want to fight you either and I certainly don’t want to loose another girl fighting these…crazies. You have to be able to defend yourself and if you can’t beat me, you can’t go out with the heroes. You have to earn it.

But I already proved myself. I saved all of you.

Yes, you did. But you still need training.

    But why the boxing gloves?

Do you think you can do better without them?

    I can’t do any worse.

True enough. Ok, take ’em off and come at me.

Her gloves had barely bounced off of the floor when she came at him like a wildcat kicking and punching madly. The ferocity of her assault caught him by surprise. Their feet became entangled and down they went.

He managed to grab hold of her arms and rolled her over. Seated upon her stomach startling her, he paused to pull off his boxing gloves. She threw a couple jabs but lacked enough force to do any damage or dislodge him from his perch upon her. OW! My finger, she cried out.

He caught hold of her wrists and pinned them to the floor. She stopped fighting and got a strange look on her face. OK! You got me. What do you have in mind?

He looked down at her as she stopped squirming. Hmm, maybe you had better put the boxing gloves back on for now. Maybe some kind of weapon."

She looked disappointed but tugged her gloves back on and announced, I don’t want any weapons.

Well, what are you going to do?

    I could zap you.

    But we’re inside.

Doesn’t matter, Dottie’s brown hair stood up on end. KAABLAMM! a bolt of lightning arced up through his body sending him flying fifteen feet into the air. He crashed on the hard wood floor of the gym. Time slowed down for the colonel and he lost the ability to coordinate the movement of his body, but managed to struggle back up to his feet. He staggered about for a second, still smoking, and tumbled back to the floor.

Dotty sat up and looked at her boxing gloves in dismay. Her gloves were blown out, the padding was smoldering and her fingers were exposed. She ran over to the colonel and slid into him as if sliding into second base. There she scooped him up in her arms, hugging him close to her chest.

He could see her rushing at him but there was no sound. Suddenly she appeared over him. She reached down, burying his face in her breasts, cutting off his air supply. He struggled to breathe as his motor control returned and he could not help but feel her soft supple female body crushed against his.

With his mouth gaping open he managed to turn his face to the side and gasp. He could see her hair starting to stand on end again as the sounds of the world started to rush back into his ears. He could hear the air being expelled from his lungs with each breath.

Her hands were rubbing up and down his sides and there was a strange tingling sensation. His body came back to life. She stopped and gave him a look of concern that changed into joy and she crushed him into her body. She started rocking back and forth as she clung to him. I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do it, she kept repeating as she hugged him.

Suddenly, unexpectedly, their lips met and she kissed him passionately, robbing him of his breath. He started to resist but quickly melted into her arms. All resistance wilted away as he replied in kind.

The feel of her soft warm body was wondrous. It would have been easy to just stay there and enjoy it, but no! She was just a child; he had to pry himself away from her. A seventeen-year-old has no business having such a mature, well-developed body.

She continued mauling him with her mouth and body, making it impossible for him to think. He desperately tried to clear his head. She was very attractive and at the same time, the forbidden fruit of youth. His emotions were the very definition of ambivalence.

The sound of thundering foot falls announced the arrival of several troopers who came running over, saying, We heard an explosion. Are you OK colonel?

He was helped up to his feet. Looking a little dazed, he explained, Yes, it was just a training accident.

Colonel Otis was whisked away to the medical wing to be checked out by Doctor Cooly. Suddenly, Dotty noticed that the remains of her boxing gloves were on fire. Hot hot HOT! She franticly ripped her gloves off and threw them to the floor.

While waiting, Dotty realized she was hungry and went down to the mess hall, joining Marshal at the heroes table. The big blue alien was her hero but he didn’t even notice her as she sat down next to him. He was lost deep in thought about some unknown alien secret, or memory of a far off alien world, or perhaps a mysterious alien woman. she thought.

Whatchadoing? He did not respond. Penny for your thoughts?

Huh? Are you proposing a monetary transaction of some kind?

What? No, I was just asking what you were thinking about so intently. She then noticed the small amount of food on his plate and asked, What’s the matter? Hasn’t your stomach grown back to size yet? She didn’t give him a chance to reply before continuing, There ought to be some sort of exercise you can do for that. I would be willing to help with that if you like. She lit up at with the thought of working out with the heroic alien.

Exercise with me. No you could be hurt and that is not it. I have no appetite.

Oh, I get it. You still miss Dauntless and Superstar.

I morn the loss of Dauntless and am concerned for the welfare of Superstar, he corrected.

Yeah, that’s what I meant. But you said she’s probably dead.

Probably, but not certainly. And I hold out hope until I hear otherwise. She is very resilient and anything is possible.

Is there anything I can do to help? She asked with a genuine desire to be helpful.

Not really. Everyone has been very sympathetic and Doctor Beverly has been very attentive.

Turning their attention to the spaghetti and garlic bread on her plate she muttered, I bet she has. He chose not to respond and stabbed his over-sized fork in the spaghetti on his plate and began twirling it around and around until most of the plate’s contents were wound up in one big ball around his fork. He hoisted it up in triumph, and took a bite from the side of the ball getting spaghetti sauce all over his face.

How did this happen? Beverly asked as she examined the frazzled colonel.

I was training with Dotty and she zapped me.

That girl is going to be trouble.

She’s young and inexperienced, but she has a good heart and wants to do the right thing. She’ll work out given time. Am I free to go?

There’s nothing wrong with you. Get out of here, unless you just wanted to talk or something, the gorgeous redhead said, as her glasses slid down her nose with a twinkle in her eye. He paused and gave it a thought for a second before departing without commenting.

The next day, 1050 miles to the northwest of Chicago, things were about to take a turn for the worst. A fuel tanker truck pulled up to the chain link gate that surrounded the massive facility. That should hold you for a month. Come on open the gate and let me out. All this nuclear waste gives me the willies.

The gate was opened and the big rig pulled out and started up the road leading out. The sun was shining brightly and the snow was falling off the fir trees that surrounded the road and complex in clumps.

The truck struggled to gain speed as it climbed up the first hill. The tanker gained speed as it made the first turn and started down hill. The tanker took the next blind turn a little wide and came face to face with an oncoming flatbed. The flatbed’s cab plowed into the tanker. The tanker’s cab slammed into the side of the flatbed. The sound of tearing metal and crashing trees filled the cool clear air as both trucks tumbled down over the bank. A bright orange fireball erupted from the broken tanker and engulfed the flatbed’s cargo, three nuclear waste containment capsules.

A few minutes later, the phone rang. A soldier neatly dressed in BDU’s answered. HERO HQ. Specialist Noneska speaking. How may I help you? After listening for a while, he replied, But we are located in Chicago. Why are you calling us about a fire in Canada?

Elsewhere in HERO HQ, Colonel Otis found himself once again locked in combat with Dotty, in the gym, pushing against each others shoulders, their heads side by side. He glanced over looking directly into her eye, saying, Remember, no zapping.

I remember, but you’re using your strength.

I can’t turn my strength off, but it’s not dangerous and I can control it. You can’t. That’s why you need to train to defend yourself. You can’t go around zapping everybody. I promise not to try too hard and use my strength.

Ok. Speaking of training, why can’t I fly the air car?

Because you’re not trained to fly them, he replied as they jostled against one another.

Then train me, she requested as she tried to gain position on the old soldier.

You only got your drivers license a year ago. You’re not ready for flying. Maybe later but not now, he said as he threw Dotty down onto the mat.

Dotty sprang up instantly and charged him like a football player trying to tackle him. He side stepped her and tossed her down to the mat again as she passed by.

The colonel put Dotty in a bear hug from behind. As she struggled to free herself, he was enjoying her futile attempts and the feel of her nubile body. Come on Dotty. I showed you how to break free from this hold yesterday.

But you’re too strong, she protested defiantly.

I’m not holding you too hard, he replied.

Specialist Bozer came into the gym with a message in his hand saying, Colonel, we have an alert.

    What is it Bozer?

The colonel stopped wrestling, but Dotty did not. He might have even enjoyed it if his attention wasn’t elsewhere. She managed to turn around in his arms to face him. She worked her hip into his stomach and threw him to the mat.
