    Executive Summary

Networked learning is the process of creating and sustaining connections with people and information, and collaborating in such a way as to increase each other’s learning. Knowledge is distributed across a network of connections, and therefore, learning consists of the ability to construct and traverse those networks (Seimens, 2011). How those connections are formed and maintained is the focus of this planning and managing networked learning for my proposed project in public health course.

Chapter 1 sets the tone for the report by assessing need and readiness of the proposed public health course. Assessing need and readiness is about learning and understanding what I have and what I do not have and what do I need for the proposed networked learning. This chapter discusses readiness assessment and its components needs assessment and its functionality along with a readiness assessment and identify the different aspects to look into for the assessment.

Chapter 2 explores how networked teaching and learning are going to take place in my public health course. So many changes are happening in education that it becomes difficult to pick out which trend, which technology, which pedagogy and which policy would benefit and suit my public health course the best. This chapter outlined the different teaching approaches, characterize different learning activities, identify learning spaces, and distinguish different technologies that can be used to enhance networked learning such as social networking, mobile learning, web conferencing and much more.

Infrastructure is third aspect of planning and managing networked learning considered in Chapter 3. Technological revolution brought on by the use of electronic media and information technologies has become ubiquitous, thus, it is very important that infrastructure must be in place to support these types of technologies, and to support learners, educators, and administrators. This chapter discusses the different elements that I need in my proposed project in the area of ICT infrastructures such as access
