A Coat of Love

You wear a coat that is never seen.

No one but me even knows it’s there.

Pockets overflow with endless love

And the gift to always care.

Your coat is woven with golden threads

From strands of angel’s hair,

Colored by goodness within your heart,

Making it so precious and rare.

The shades are those of a beautiful rainbow,

So clear and very bright.

A radiance surrounding all you are,

Glistens in the darkness of night.

Its lining is that of a drifting cloud,

Ever gentle to caress and feel.

Comforting those whose lives you touch—

A quality you never conceal.

The buttons are from the heaven’s stars,

Sparkling as diamonds do.

When buttoned, the coat emits a warmth

That can only come from you.

You wear this coat every day.

It was God who made it for you.

For He has made the you you are,

Blessing each heartbeat to be strong and true.

To me, your coat is a priceless treasure

More valuable with passage of time,

To be cherished now and forever,

Each day to be sewn with mine.

A Lover’s Stairway

The moon shone majestically

On the warm summer’s night,

Painting the ocean’s canvas

With a soft and gentle light.

This portrait seemed so near,

You could reach to grasp its hand.

But when you nearly to touch it,

Still all you see is sand.

It shines on the far horizon

Straight to the stars above,

Showing lovers a moonlit path

To the stairway of true love.

I walk this blessed stairway

Dreaming of our love so true,

And with every step I climb,

I fall more in love with you.

Let’s always climb together,

Clutching hand in hand,

Dreaming dreams within our hearts
