Warren T. Michael Jr.

About the Author Doc Wart was born on the island of Aruba. He was the youngest of six children. Ellen was no. 1, Timmy was no. 2, Harry was no. 3, Jeff was no. 4, Billy was no. 5, and Warren was no. 6. Mom and Dad quickly relocated to Sarasota, Florida, and Dad built our house. He was an architect and construction engineer. After a few years, we moved to Gainesville as my father went to work as an architect at the University of Florida. He was awesome. He designed the basketball, football, track, baseball, and soccer stadiums; the museums; classes; and nearly every building that had something to do with the University of Florida. So I decided to do the same as he did. I went to Saint Augustine, the only place we could go for surfing. The waves sucked, but the drive there and back was fun. My first car was bought from my brother Harry. The Greymutta 1967 van that we drove to Puerto Escondido, Mexico, as Doc, Scram, and Yorkshire Puddin. The waves were huge, the chicks were available, and the drinks were toxicsurf, sex, and suds. I wrote what we did on every trip, mill gas, liquor chicks. I wrote and made pictures for twelve books, and now I am sharing them for surfers around the world.

    Mexico or Bust

    Well, money in the bank!

    Two sticks guaranteed to rip!

And one surefire go-for-it pupgression attitude!

    It all means one thing!

    It’s we gone!

I’m gone anyway. Seems I’ll be goin’ solo on this particular stomp.

Like always, I’m sure ALL THE MAIN SURF DAWGS are behind the Doc 100 percent.

See ya in August G’ville, maybe later.

    Who knows!

    Day 1

    Sunday, June 27, 1982

Not much $dinero$ but plenty of spirit. Gotta get my board from Skeet tomorrow. Besides that, it’s green lights 5.1.jpg all the way.

My bus leaves 11:30 Monday night toward the Hulio-Ville Havana Fashion Show. That’s right: Miami. From there, it’s Merida; when I get off the plane, it’s Watch out, Mexico! I’m doing this one in honor of our faithful dog, Meister, who so loyally served our family for some fifteen years. There’s only one difference though. Now he won’t be able to terrorize the Mr. Negroes. Unless, of course, there’s a nigger out there who, fortunately, made it to heaven.

    5.2.jpg

In search of my Madonna (the perfect woman)! I know she’s there somewhere! One thing’s for sure: I’ll know her when I see her.
