    DEDICATION

There are many people who travel in and out of the course of our lives like a tumultuous river of souls… some sweep past in a fleeting moment, others eddy about us for a time taking us into dark intrigues, others are rapids frothing with laughter, causes, love and confusion; there are those who shimmer and glisten blinding us with their brilliance, and still others who lead us into cascades scattering as we fall… and where will we be on the journeys end can only be imagined… perhaps some vast pool, perhaps the open sea of all who traveled before us. I know the trip is only as magnificent as we choose it to be, and only as enjoyable as those who we allow to travel with us. To all of those who have ridden this raft thus far I thank you…

It is now I would like to singularly thank those whose names may never be spoken again… who traveled with me through the intrigues, the maelstroms, the good times, and the sorrows… who never said a word during their lifelong journey beside me, and never wavered in their loyalty and trust, courage and fidelity, love and affection… never once thought about abandoning me even when things were most difficult to navigate and I was completely unsure how to get through it. These are my four legged brothers and sisters. They never spoke my language yet hung on my every word… when there was no food they starved with me, when I wept they consoled me, when I danced they danced with me… everyone around them seemed more important, and every day took me away from them, they hung their heads in shame when scolded, survived the endless hours of being ignored without complaint, and had only joy when my gaze fell upon them… and they accepted my decision even in death… I owe them no less than this, that their names be spoken every time this book is opened, that they be remembered.

To Trixie, who grew up with me, watched me like a doting mother, protected me as I played, and slept…

To King who my father had to shoot because he went mad. He went through horrors before coming to us, and he taught me to understand there are those who are just broken…

To Toby Sr., Jr., and the Third, Pinky, and Peppermint who allowed me to dress them in baby clothes, and were guests of honor at every tea party, and knew every book of fairytales…Toby was my Puss In Boots…

To Big Boy who watched over my sister, who was bigger than life in size and personality, and who liked a snort of whisky once in awhile…

To Brownie who was saved from the New York City Docks, and was the smartest dog ever…

To Rose Pierre who was the most popular cat in the neighborhood, and a helluva Don Juan leaving behind innumerable red kitties…he had swagger…

To Tuffy who had the friendliest personality ever, who accepted and befriended Sifu, and showed him the ropes…

To Pity Piwacket… and I can barely say her name without tears because I loved her with all my heart… who loved Mr. Alligator, and who survived the worst of times (I will miss you forever and ever Pity Pie)…

To Paws who was a Hemmingway… he was one incredible cat, and the boxing champion of the neighborhood…

To Mohammad whose feet were like wings, who loved butterflies and flowers, and whose inner peace precluded any acts of violence…

To SiinGin who was my lovey bug and a fierce protectress…

To Jack Bear who lived to be over twenty, and raised so many children it is uncountable, and protected the entire neighborhood… he would shepherd the children on our long walks…

To Baron… my beloved Bear-Bear… no words can impart my love for you, and how much I still miss you…my champion, my defender, my companion, my wanderer, my mystic…

To DeeDee who bit me and ate everything like Ms. Pac Man…

To Ozzy who vanished never to be seen again…

To Louis…my beautiful Louis… forever imbedded in my heart… son of Domino…

To Sipsy my beautiful black coyote girl, and the loving wife of Weezer; who was humble, protective, a girly-girl, and the fastest thing on four legs…

To Weezer who is my little brave bodyguard, a foodaholic, a charming character, and a snuggler… I love you my Itty-Bitty-Boy, my Mickey Mouse

To Sophia who is The Woof (half dog half wolf) who is the sweetest girl ever… who listens to every word I say, and who complains by howling while waging her big fluffy tail…

And most of all… to my beautiful Domino who died this year, who lived to be over twenty; she was the best mouser ever, an image of Bast, humble and never demanding… rest in comfort, peace, and knowing that you did a good job… I hope you will never know want…

    INTRODUCTION

As of this writing I have had over forty-seven years experience in what most people refer to as fortunetelling. I do not embrace this terminology (though this might be a matter of semantics) as it conjures the image of candlelit parlors, mysterious persons in bandanas wearing an extreme assortment of jewelry and colorful attire; large signs displaying a hand palm side out; witches, sorcerers, and other persons of dubious repute; all of which are designed to thrill the customer while relieving them of their cash. This has been my experience. While I do admit to wearing the afore mentioned attire, having the necessity of candles and incense, and being of an eclectic eccentricity in my furnishings, I am not a witch, sorceress, nor of dubious repute. So what is the defining line? The answer to that is commonly referred to as psychic ability. You either have it or you do not. Can you develop it? I believe you can enhance it and under certain circumstances possibly manifest it through an extraordinary experience. There are people who cite cases where someone who has had a near death experience demonstrated an enhanced psychic ability upon their recovery. I have never met such an individual, and have not had the pleasure of testing their skills personally. There are some cases I have come across, through various media, of such persons, and a few of these cases do seem plausible. It has been suggested that entities and/or spirits (usually guardian angels) have formed a bond with the individual to initiate this extraordinary change. Why? I have no idea. Not all have spoken of this type of attachment though they still are said to have enhanced psychic abilities. Until we can test these individuals we can only speculate. We do not know if perhaps the circuitry of the brain is rearranged, perhaps the chemistry is different, or perhaps they really have brought back a connection to something or someone from the other side. I’m not sure if this would be a good thing or considered a form of possession. There is also the possibility that the individual is more accepting of an ability that may have been suppressed from their early years. The entire subject may be hogwash. We cannot know unless we research the phenomena.

Unfortunately most of science disregards psychic ability as being nothing more than intuition, coincidence or possibly the influence of the claimed psychic upon the uneducated, naive, and/or suggestible. I understand this to be true in many, if not most cases, but it is not true for all or I wouldn’t be here writing this book. There have been many disreputable people peddling a supposed clairvoyance that was no more than tin horns on strings, table tapping, and silly staged manifestations; not to mention the frauds who throw out generalizations knowing someone will respond and something will eventually ring a bell. I detest these people. Charlatans do nothing but throw mud in the pool so to speak. You have to put things into perspective. Yes, there will be generalizations at times because the majority of humanity shares certain basics such as emotions, meeting new people (the world has 7 billion people and it’s a given you’ll eventually meet someone new), illness, career, names that begin with any letter of the alphabet, and relatives or friends who have died. I do not conduct open room readings with several people as it just lends itself to the suspicions of skeptics not to mention that too many people can be distracting.

If you have an extra sensory perception, and you choose to utilize it towards helping others, give respect to the person for whom you are reading. Most things I’ve seen are very specific, very intimate, and most often of a delicate nature; people should have their assurance of privacy. Maintaining an ethical and fiduciary relationship with your clients will bring trust and respect to your practice. No matter who consults you, keep their information close to the vest. I have been consulted by the famous, wealthy, powerful, friends, relatives, strangers of every ilk, and they all deserve your respect and confidentiality. Hold your tongue and your reputation will precede itself. Oracalting is not for gossips.

I recommend you keeping a journal of your experiences to further any research to which it might contribute. Safeguard the names of your clients, make sure you note what representative card was chosen as people have a tendency to forget, as will you, any events or circumstances which may be referenced later of which they may forget, note any unique qualities to the reading such as rare and infrequent meanings, and brief notes about it. I provide a pen and paper so that they may takes notes. If you are being recompensed for your time you will need to keep track of it for financial reasons and for filing taxes. Covering the business aspect briefly, you may keep receipts of expenses such as incense, candles, equipment, and gas mileage to offset your income; consult a tax specialist for a list of deductions.

Prior to and during readings I generally have psychic and personal impressions, some of these are intuition, and many times they are vague or incomplete; I suggest you keep vagaries to yourself until you feel the need to introduce them before, during, or after the consultation, or at a point when they become clear and relevant. As I stated before, vagaries add nothing but suspicion to your querant, and are fodder for skeptics; not to mention they are useless until clarified. If you see something that seems vague to you make a note in your journal under that client’s name as it may become clearer to you later. Several of my clients have spirits around them which I make note of but do not tell my client about unless they are negative spirits. It isn’t worth presenting this information to the client as it usually involves sidetracking them with a guessing game of who it could be. If it is relevant to the reading I will know as the session progresses. I make a note in my journal to reference later. Most often the spirit leaves after smudging, but there are several instances when the apparition becomes more animated, and I receive visions from them. I wait until the reading is finished to address these. I do not want preconceived notions to interfere with the reading.

One such profound experience stands out in my memory that of a consultation a dear friend set up for me with another of her acquaintances. Immediately upon entering my home I saw a man hovering around this woman. He seemed greatly distressed. I said nothing about this at that time and continued to open the session. For a new client I usually light all seven candles representing the archangels. When I lit the candle dedicated to Michael the flame shot up about two feet. I thought this strange but perhaps there was some accelerant residue on the candle such as oil which would quickly burn out. I said that it was the candle dedicated to Michael the Archangel, at which point this woman fell out of her chair and began crying and shaking. I saw her to her chair and asked if she wished to continue. I told her to tell me nothing of whatever upset her and allow me to continue uninterrupted. She agreed, but was still obviously upset. When I began having her choose her card it came up The Devil. This, of course, began another bout of trembling and weeping. I then began the long tree of life reading. It revealed murder, an evil man who had great influence upon her, justice, and her going away for a long time. She was so overwrought that she could contain herself no-longer. She blurted out that she had been having an affair with a man named Michael who was the leader of a cult in the area. She was living with another man whom she planned on marrying. The evil man had made horrible threats against her fiancé and herself. On a Halloween night she had a terrible argument with her fiancé and he stormed out the front door. A shot rang out. When she went to the balcony to look out she saw him lying bleeding on the walkway. She said she ran down to the lawn and called for an ambulance, but he died in her arms before they arrived. She was convinced that this Michael had done this. While she was relating this to me the spirit, who I can only guess was her dead fiancé, was shaking his head in a vigorous no fashion. I told the woman that she would be going to jail for this, and if she could prove this Michael had done this she needed to inform the police. They left, the woman was taken to trial and found guilty of second degree murder, and she was given 15 years. I knew in my heart this Michael had not killed her fiancé; that in fact she had; why I do not know. I saw her many years later accidentally and there were several shadow people around her. What became of her I do not know, and neither do I want to. This is an example of what you need to know about how deep and serious a reading can be. Learn to keep things to yourself until all is revealed. Even then you may want to exercise caution.

Another topic that should be brought to your attention concerns psychic ability in general. You should understand that there is no type of person who has it. Good people and bad people, religious people and agnostic people, developmentally disabled people and geniuses, all types of people from every group imaginable have psychics among them. I further suggest, though I cannot prove, that even animals can be psychic. If you assume it directly connects to the spiritual then your assumption is incorrect. The link to the spiritual is in the ability to see energies we know as spirits and possibly make contact with them. It is not a gift for only those who adhere to some dogma. Many would say it is prophesy, and yes it can encompass prophetic visions, and there are good and evil entities just as there are good and evil people. You can consider it a gift as an artist has a gift, or a musician has a gift, or a mechanic has a gift, but in and of itself it does not make you either cursed or blessed with the exception of application; using it for good, or using it for evil. Every religion, ethnicity, gender, age, location, profession, and economic class have psychics among them. You are not a psychic because you’re a witch. You are not a psychic because you believe in a standardized set of rules. You are not trained to be a psychic though you can be trained to hone your abilities. Simply put, you are or you are not psychic. Now, that may be a blanket statement, and there are exceptions and possibilities, but this is sufficient for what’s on the plate at this time. You would have to study very hard for a very long time and be open to contemplate alternatives beyond the scope of this material at this time. Do not interpret clairvoyance with spirituality even though you might see spirits. By that I mean entities that are non-corporeal. According to science the Universe that we exist in contains approximately 68% dark energy, 27% dark matter, and 5% normal matter. So what we see and feel and touch is usually gauged by the senses which react to that 5% of matter. So every material thing you interact with is a representation of energy mixed with a scant amount of solid. Do we react or interact with energy? Of course we do! Our whole being interacts with energy. Our senses are all involved with the interaction of energy. So when we die does this energy cease to exist? Absolutely not! The Law of the Conservation of Energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed but it can convert from one form to another. The Law of the Conservation of Mass (matter) states that matter is neither created nor destroyed. Is it ever changing? Yes, it changes in perpetuity. So when we die we never really die as in ending all that we are, all that we were, and all that we could be. Throw into the mix time, alternate realities (dimensions), mathematics, quantum physics and you have your answer to the age old question of do we still exist after death. Yes we do. Can some people perceive this? Absolutely! How do some people perceive this? I haven’t a clue as science is so lacking in studies. Scientists are still hung up on the same old basics and don’t progress much with real questions which affect most everyone. Why? Well, we’re not that far from the Dark Ages in our perceptions of reality, but that is for another discussion, and perhaps another book. Let’s just say that people keep stating the obvious without really seeing what the obvious is or suggests.

So now that I have completely confused you let me get back on topic. The methods contained in this writing are tried and true so to speak. They have been around for a very long time, and are the most common forms of Oraclating. I have omitted many that are generally redundant, some that are obsolete, some that require things frowned upon by society, some that are dangerous, some because they are not in my experience, and others because they are too complex and involve more than can be explained in this book. The types of oracles described do have religious references, and though I decline to restrict someone or censure another based upon their particular brand of religion, I must put them forth as they have been handed down… kind of like a recipe. You will probably find this a contradiction that many have a religious practice or application since I previously explained telepathy and extra-sensory perception are not in and of themselves religious, but for the sake of tradition I must relate these forms of oraclating as they are practiced. I will not edit something for the sake of political correctness. I do want you to understand there are new ways that people have created to oraclate and for them it works, but unless I have some experience with it I won’t mention it. If you have a new way that connects you I would like to hear about it and you may contact my publisher. I’m always open to new and better ways of doing things.

Let’s tie this up, so to speak, and I’ll wrap with this thought; you do need to be psychic to a degree in order to oraclate because it needs interpreting, you
