About this ebook

This is a story about a former US marine returning to the continent of Asia for a third time.

Gracefully, on his third tour to the largest area on Earth, he traveled alone without the thousand plus men of the strong infantry battalion of 3/5. His third journey there was different; it was about love. On a small island just southeast of the country of India dwelt the most beautiful woman his eyes could ever behold. Sri Lanka was a place very far and different from where he had come. However, love conquered all as the two continued to dwell in love, despite of the immigration difficulties.

    PROLOGUE

Through the years of living on Earth, I always wondered when and how I would marry. After living and watching man and wife come together as one, it always seemed as if the marriage was short lived. Therefore, I became less interested in being obligated to any woman as I remained single for a long time. However, I was a man of God who did his best to live right according to His Holy word. In Genesis 2:18, the King James Version of the bible says, "It is not good for the man to be alone." I was 38 years of age before I met my wife. Many people knew I was without my wife. Some even included I wasn’t living right, so I couldn’t be blessed by God. These people were wrong. I was living righteously according to the bible, so my heart and soul could only persevere for the right woman to come. Niluka Ranasingha lived ten thousand miles away. It was only by the grace of God we met. Our relationship was created by living right according to God’s Holy word.

    CHAPTER 1

    MY SACRIFICE

    Image%20for%20Chapter%201.jpg

It was September 1996. I was medevac (medical evacuation) from the island of Okinawa, Japan. For further treatment of a brain injury. Over the previous years while serving in the United States Marine Corps, I have flown plenty of times but never in a cargo jet. It was my first time flying in a C-14; an airplane made for military shipments but was rearranged for passengers with about approximately four rows of aircraft seats. Gracefully, I was placed near the rear entrance ramp upon a journey as though I was being operated on. Although I wasn’t having surgery, there was a Navy Corpsman who flew with me as an traveling nurse back to the U.S. The entire journey from the island of Okinawa to the United States of America was the worst plane ride I have ever flown upon. The pilot must have been an ex-fighter pilot of an F-15 jet with his gut felt manoeuvres in the sky. Myself as the injured Marine stretched out received the worse of the flight. Maybe I was exaggerating because of my first cargo plane flight, however, I made up my mind that I will never fly again. I wanted to kiss the soil of America once I arrived in California. I stood by that pledge as I rode Greyhound buses after my surgery from California to Texas. At times, I can be a very stubborn person, therefore, I kept away from airports, never to fly again. In spite of the oath I’ve made to myself and remaining grounded upon the Earth, something changed my mind.

After being released from the Marine Corps, I returned home (on a bus of course) to rejoin My family. Next, I enrolled in the local college there, acquired new friends, and bought me a year old Ford Mustang GT convertible. I also found a walk with God as numerous blessings fell upon my life but I always felt something was missing. I basically had everything any person could desire but I felt lonely at times. Over the years, I have met and dated numerous women but none seemed worthy to settle down with. I continued in faith while serving Him as I became more aware of His holy word. There was this one scripture that says 2 Corinthians 9:6 but this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap sparingly and he that soweth bountifully shall reap bountifully. Over the years of driving my Mustang GT convertible, I must say I had an awesome time. There were times when I drove around my city with the top down during the spring or autumn months just cruising. I even raced quite a few other race cars upon the city streets as I displayed the torque under my hood. I truly enjoyed my beautiful race car. The Ford Mustang was my heart’s desire throughout time. I recall as a child, my dad bought me and my two brothers each bicycles for Christmas Eve year. I cherished the bike as I kept clean always and applied the letters Mustang GT upon it. Although my sports car wasn’t my first vehicle I had purchased on my own, I personally admired my accomplishment. However, just all things created on this Earth, everything created has a beginning and an end. A person is born at one time in life only to perish later. A car or anything similar rolls off of the car lot brand new only to turn into rust through time.

I can go on and on about the matter but it is obvious I everything has a beginning and an end. Therefore, this was the results of my
