About this ebook

Sgt. Francis DaVinci is a United States marine with a lot of problems, suffering from memory loss and PTSD. He is sent to France to assassinate a major target, but the long history of losing people he loved and cared about has clouded his judgment. Franciss own personal vendetta of trying to find out what happened to his parents has made him a target of the people who want this mystery to stay unsolved. While Francis is being hunted, he meets a famous hip-hop and pop singer Riley Gonzales, a member of the number 1 girl group, Paradise; but a shocking betrayal may cost him everything. As Francis has his victim in his crosshairs, he and others will have to make a choice.

    Prologue

S o this is what death feels like nothing more than a cold painful feeling. Where my vision get blurry and I start going into shock. As my temperature had begun to drop and my air would soon leave the rest of my body. As my blood made a pool of darkness in which my hair on the back was soaked in. I could still hear a voice that sounds like a female help him, help him. I still had the sense of touch as I felt hand on top of my chest pushing down like a mad trucker.

And the figure saying 1…2…3… come on soldier stay with us. But every time he push down my blood would make a splashing motion. I could hear Death whisper in my ear. It kept telling me, it time to go leave this useless life, look at all the destruction you have caused you have led billion of innocent people to their death. I tried to fight but there was an Angel singing to me, a little rhyme.

That I could not hear, but it was in French and it was coming out of the girl’s mouth as she rocked me. It did not take long till the bright light of the Eiffel Tower began to fade; my lungs in my chest began to fail. I already know that my body was cold, my hour glass was empty, and my time was up. I had died. I was looking at my body as I saw the girl cover me up with the French Flag.

Time stood still, the tower stood tall like the Iron Lady; she was still standing, from all the destruction. I was proud. But, what irony, it was the place where I was born, is where I have just died. I could not hear, but I could see that my pager went off. I still remembered what I have said, before I hit the ground.

The girl picked it up. And it read I love you. I had never met her, but she was kind, which would never change. It was sad I have never met her, my big sister.

    Part 1

    Chapter 1

I opened my eyes, as my feet hit the floor, at 0400hrs did early PT, of eighty pushups, sixty pull-ups ninety sit-ups, one hundred crunches and two hundred jumping jacks, finishing up my morning with an eight mile run nonstop. Then I did some practice with my Sniper rifle, until my good buddy, Chris Tyson came out, to give me some more targets to use.

How does it feel being back on friendly soil Chris said, like nothing had ever happened.

I almost drop kick him, with the words of what he just said, like it never happen.

Francis, it has been two years since her death Chris said.

Two years in which I regret following orders and not taking the shot that I would have made. I said. And I will forever blame myself for her death.

No matter how many times you think of her, she isn’t coming back Chris said. Stop I said, trying to hide my anger.

Stop what? He asked, as I turned and snapped. Stop saying she and her, stop trying to forget her name, her name is Sergeant Kyra Sky and more important than that, she was a marine I said, slamming my fist against my gun.

I know she was a marine Chris said, trying to calm me down.

No you don’t, Kyra had a sister, a mother, a father and I had to break the news to her family, that their daughter was not coming back and where were you, you was trying to forget, while I went to the funeral I said ending it there and stormed off to calm down…

I found myself in the small-arms shooting range and it felt like I was back in boot camp our fifth week in and Drill Instructor Browning yelling at us…

Alright you maggots your nine millimeter is your life line if something happens to your primary weapon DI Browning said, showing the pistol to us. Like we need to know this, I was raised around guns my whole life Pvt. Kyra Sky said, whispering into my ear. I know I said, in her ear. Private DaVinci do you have something to share with the rest of us DI Browning said. No sir I said…

I smiled and shook the feeling away and the smile had fade away. I then went to the Romeo barracks where we use to sleep. I step in and the recruits came to attention. Sgt on deck a Recruit said as they filed in like dominos. I came to the recruit, who alerted everyone to my present and I looked at his name on his uniform it said Private Melon.

Private Melon I said. Yes sir he spoke the sun playing trick on his dark skin.

Take your team anywhere but here I said.

Private Melon looked at me and saluted me and the other recruits did the same and ran off.

I walk toward the bunk that was the second to the last and I took a seat and began to remember the last day of boot camp…

We had entered with a lot of joy that Tyson, Sky, and I had earned the title of marine. Francis, we finally did it Chris said, walking in. We can finally leave this hell hole Kyra said, seeing that I was smiling at her.

What? She asked, trying to keep her posture.

You’re now a Marine, how does it feel? I said, taking a seat at a bunk.

How does it feel? She asked herself out loud, as she pause and took a seat on my lap, our lips was not even inches from mine, almost touching in a full kiss, instead she whispered in my ear. I would not have made it without you Kyra said. She then kisses me on the cheek and left…

I once again had shaken the feeling away with the burning of her lips on my cheek. I wipe the sweat from my brows like a leaf wipe sap off a tree. Why can I not stop thinking about her? I had to retreat to my office that was on the other side of the camp.

I drove past the sign that said…

    Parris Inland

    And underneath it the words…

    Welcome to Hell

But when I see that sign I didn’t care about the words. I could see Kyra Sky where she would push herself to do as many push-ups as I could do, where she would keep her emotion in check, also where she found peace in the world, and as well for her to get away from the boys…

    Operation: The White Raven

    Mexico City, Mexico

Who names a helicopter the White Raven Chris said. Maybe because of the same reason we call helicopter a black hawk Kyra said being a smartass. I love Ravens I said. Are you sure you’re not talking about Tyson’s wife Kyra said. For one; her name isn’t Raven, her name is Rachael I said.
