About this ebook

This is the first of a 5 book series on the subject of integrity, taken from the author' original book entitled "Let Integrity And Uprightness Preserve Me...". It was created as the result of her obedience to her pastor Bishop Dr. Dana C. Head Sr.' instructions to break down the larger book, so it will be easier to digest.

Better is the poor that walks in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool. Proverbs 19:1

Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty who hath vexed my soul;
All the while my breath is in me,
and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
God forbid that I should justify you; till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
Job 27: 1-6

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men;
Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond of free.
Ephesians 6:5-8

Lora T. Coleman

Lora Coleman is a born-again Christian wife and mother dedicated to serving the Creator. She firmly believes that we were made by God and for his glory only. Furthermore, she believes that until we accept this truth and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, life will continue to make little sense. Lora was born and raised in Washington, DC. She was one of only two daughters of the fourteen children of the late Ralph (Luke) and Audrey Watkins. Educated in the public school system, she married her hometown sweetheart in 1987. And after completing an enlistment in US Navy, Lora received an honorable discharge in October 1990. She later completed another six months, which ended in December of 1992. Also, she received her degree in social work from the University of the District of Columbia in 1998 and began working with the homeless population. Mrs. Coleman has always had a love for people and has been devoted to helping others for as long as she can remember. She greatly desires to see righteousness (which can only come from God) prevail among all people everywhere. Raised in Catholicism, Lora went to church regularly and completed all the traditional requirements of that faith. However, after becoming extremely ill in the latter part of the year 2000, she realized that she definitely needed more spiritually and that there had to be more to serving the Lord God. So she prayed and studied diligently until she heard a timely word from the Lord (Hosea 4:6) and became filled with the Holy Spirit. Immediately, she repented and obeyed the Word of God according to Romans 10:9 and Acts 2:38 as she made Jesus Christ her personal Lord and Savior. Since then, she’s been praying and working in faith to lead others to Christ as well. Mrs. Coleman serves on the Deacon Board and teaches in the Sunday school at New Hope and Life Church of God in Christ, where she also attends Bible College. Currently, Mrs. Coleman resides in Annapolis, Maryland, with her husband, one son, and one daughter.

    The Definition of Integrity

    22376.jpg

    The RANDOM HOUSE WEBSTER’S SCHOOL & OFFICE DICTIONARY copyright 1998 (the world’s authority on definitions), defines integrity as uncompromising adherence to moral and ethical principles, the state of being whole or entire, or a sound or unimpaired condition. The James Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance (1990), (my trusty Christian index to the Bible), defines integrity as moral uprightness.

    These are two of the most reputable sources for defining the word integrity. Although there are many meanings of this term listed in the various publications of the Webster’s Dictionary, the definitions of the two different sources mentioned, are relatively the same. Therefore, no one should misinterpret the concept of the term integrity, once identified.

    Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame,

    for I take refuge in You.

    Let integrity and uprightness preserve me…

    Psalm 25:20-21

    The term integrity is not a noun that’s easily identified. It’s a concept that with understanding, can be seen in a person who fears and honors The LORD GOD, maintains personal awareness by looking and smelling clean, watching his/her attitude and behavior, respecting others (especially senior citizens and those having authority over them) and honoring business agreements, as well as personal commitments.

    Integrity exists in married couples who communicate with one another regularly and lovingly, especially regarding issues that affect the family. This includes couples that report their whereabouts and those who support, defend and submit to one another, as well as those who show consideration regarding the family car.
