Water is everywherein clouds, on land, in rivers, and beneath the ground. Water sustains life on earth. Humans can learn a lot from water about how to live with ones surroundings without conflict.

The poetry, in free verse, provides insights about water. The book portrays different aspects of water in nature. Water is beauty and bliss from which people would get joy through internalizing and adapting themselves.

The author is a hydrologist and director in Andhra Pradesh Ground Water Department in India. He worked on various facets of water since the beginning of his career. The book is a result of his insights on observing various facets of water in hydrologic cycle. Flowing thoughts are centered on water, mind, and heart.

A Scarce Water Drop

A different world

to live in in the future,

a drop of water is leaving for good,

threatened by pollution and

heat.

Land is turning sterile,

lost from rejuvenating life,

lulled into complacency.

Humanity exploits nature’s

resources beyond regeneration;

a bird driven from pillar to post

fell dead, thirsty, on fields.

Water, the Elixir

A wonder liquid

found on planet Earth,

a life-giver,

occurs on the surface

and crevices of earth’s crust,

in movement ever.

Life turns extinct

when water becomes

extinct.

A plant never suckles

nutrients

without milking with water.

When it is scarce,

a tree sheds leaves,

sends signals for passing clouds

that open up spontaneous

sprinkling showers.

Nothing in the world

lives like water in

harmony—

when put in a bottle

becomes bottle shaped,

adjusts with

its surroundings, descends

to the lowest spaces.

Water is marvellously

made, flows in rivers,

vaporizes in the atmosphere,

solidifies in glaciers.

Wherever it is,

it never gets due recognition

until it is broken,

becomes scarce.

Life flows in rivers

when water flows through

them.

Rivers rejuvenate;

when greed

surpasses, water

fails
