Kinlei’S Adventures in Telos

About this ebook
When my son was three years old, he looked at me and said, Mom, I was Billy the Kid in my last life. You can imagine my surprise! Where did that come from? I asked him if there was anything else he wanted to tell me, and he said no and returned to playing with his toy cars.
I thought on that a lot. Where would a three-year-old come up with a story like that? Had he lived before? Did he dream it, or did he imagine it? Does the past create the future? He never spoke of Billy the Kid again and does not remember it to this day, but anytime he said, Mom, can I tell you something? after that, I always stopped what I was doing and listened. I didnt want to hear some things he said as he got older, but to this day, he always tells me his dreams and desires. I hope my just listening to him had something to do with that.

LJ Linane is finally a grandmother at the early age of sixty. Her granddaughter, Kinlei, is perfect, with strawberry-blonde hair, light blue eyes, and curiosity for the great big world around her. LJ’s daughter, Alexandria, asked LJ to pick out a book for Kinlei—a special book, from grandmother to granddaughter. There are so many great books for children available, but LJ wanted to share with her granddaughter some simple things she was taught as a child. Love, honor, courage, friendship, and honesty were all part of LJ’s childhood, and she thought the joy of sharing those memories with her granddaughter could be the greatest gift. Thinking about what she wanted to say to her granddaughter in a book reminded LJ of some things she did not say to her own children. But all parents miss the point sometimes. She decided to be gentle with herself, as she wanted Kinlei to do the same. A child’s greatness starts at home. Who the child becomes as an adult begins with a parent’s gentle guidance and encouragement. Imagination is the beginning of creation, with the creation of a life and the dreams of a child forming the circle of life. The stories in this book are simple, as is a child’s mind. If we as adults remain ever childlike, the world might become a happier place.
