About this ebook

I am truly blessed and honored that my God breathed on me, that my Christ Jesus spoke through me, that my Holy Spirit inspired me, and that I was chosen by the Trinity to be their disciple to write, My God Favored Me with My Twelve-Step Recovery Wishes. However, I boast not in myself but entirely in my Heavenly Father, in my Christ Jesus, and in my Holy Spirit, who all favored me and will favor you also if you will allow yourself to be their servant. I am a born-again Christian, and I thank my Heavenly Father for never giving up on me when I was living in the world because the lifestyle I was living could have killed me, but my God had other plans for my life. Thank you Heavenly Father for your unconditional love for me, for never giving up on me, and for giving me a second chance in life.

Wanda Scovers

As a child growing up, Wanda Scovers; her three brothers, Jerry, Matthew, and James (now deceased); her two sisters, Diane and Juliabell, all grew up in church with family values, life morals, and respect. Needless to say, living in the world changed her entire lifestyle and her desire to be a servant for her Heavenly Father. During this particular time of her life, Wanda had her own plans, but she also had a praying mother, Lillian, who is now resting in God’s heavenly garden. God blessed her with a son, Charles, and he is the joy of her life. Wanda knows now that her life and her temple belong to God only. Also, she is learning to obey her instincts. She is learning to listen with her spiritual ears. She is learning to be obedient to God, but most important, she is learning to trust the Holy Spirit, speaking to her and through her. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path” (Proverbs 3:5–6). Wanda says, “My Heavenly Father is my sole provision. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him, I am all things and I have the sweet, sweet victory, in my Heavenly Father, Christ Jesus. Amen! Amen! Amen!”

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

T o my Heavenly Father, to my Jesus Christ, and to my Holy Spirit, I say, "Thank You, thank You, and thank You. I know that I don’t always do things the right way, but You, my Heavenly Father, are always there to correct me and to direct my every footstep because You love me unconditionally, and I love You. Where would I be without You in my life? I can’t begin to image not having You in my life, Lord. I was on the path of destruction to hell with Satan, but because You love me for who I am, Satan didn’t get me. I know that Satan is truly upset about You, my Heavenly Father, saving me, but that’s all right too because if Satan repented of his sins, You, my Heavenly Father, would forgive Satan also. Why? Because, You, my Heavenly Father, are a loving and caring Father. I love you, my Heavenly Father !

To my mother, thank you, Mom, for not giving up on me and for praying for me when I couldn’t pray for myself. I miss you dearly, and I will always love you, Mommy. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

To my father, I will always be a daddy’s girl and I will always love you.

To my son, Charles, I love you dearly. I thank you for your patience, I thank you for your support, and I thank you for your love.

To my miniature schnauzers, Buddy, Bonnie, Missy, and Monty, thank you for being there for me when I was going through my defining moments. I love you guys!

To my family, friends, and loved ones, I thank all of you for your support, for your encouragement, and for your love.

    CHAPTER 1

    My God

    My Good Shepherd’s Prayer

    The Twenty-Third Psalm

My Lord is my Shepherd …

That’s me and my God’s relationship and His perfect salvation for me!

    I shall not want …

That’s my God, and He’s my supply and my perfect satisfaction!

My Lord makes me lie down in green pastures …

That’s my God, and He’s my perfect rest!

My Lord leads me beside the still waters …

That’s my God and His perfect refreshment for me!

My Lord restores my soul …

That’s my God, and He’s my healer and my perfect restoration!

My Lord leads me in the paths of righteousness …

That’s my God, and He’s my perfect leader!

    For His name’s sake …

That’s my God, and He’s my perfect protector!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death …

That’s my God; He tests me!

I will fear no evil …

That’s my God, and He’s my protector!

For Thou art with me …

That’s my God, and He’s my faith!

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me …

That’s my God, and He’s my disciplinarian and my perfect company!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies …

That’s my God, and He’s my hope and my perfect provision!

Thou anointed my head with oil …

That’s my God, and He’s my perfect consecration!

    My cup runneth over …

That’s my God, and He’s my abundance and my perfect joy!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life …

That’s my God, and He’s my blessing and my perfect caregiver!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord …

That’s my God, and He’s my security!

    Forever …

    With my God for Eternity!

What is most valuable is not what but who we have in our lives. My who is my Jesus Christ, my who is my Heavenly Father, my who is my Holy Spirit, and my who is my Trinity. Who is the who in your life?

Kudos to the child of God who added the additional words to the prayer from Psalm 23. I believe the additional words are heartfelt expressions of how the words of the Lord’s psalm affect the children of God internally while they are reading it. Remember that the added words are not to be taken out of context or taken out of character. I was truly moved and blessed by the additional words. Thank you for your powerful insight. Again, what is most valuable is not what we have in our lives, but who we have in our lives! Amen.

    Comfort for the Weary

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; For I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28–30).

    My Three-Part Holy Trinity

There are three parts of the Trinity of my God, and they are my God the Father, my God the Son, and my God the Holy Spirit. Each person of my three-part Trinity presents Himself differently in my life and in His own ways. The three, however, are only one deity.

For example, my God the Father is my Heavenly Father, and He is the anointed king and leader over my God the Son and my God the Holy Spirit. My God the Father is also the Father of my God the Son. However, when I have requests for my Heavenly Father, the only way in which my Heavenly Father acknowledges my requests is through His Son. My God the Son takes my requests and speaks directly on my behalf to our God the Father. I get my answers from my God the Holy Spirit, who dwells and lives inside of me.

By the way, if you are having doubts or lack understanding about the Holy Trinity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—don’t worry about it. I didn’t understand the Holy Trinity of my God at first either. Don’t force the learning process. Eventually, it will all make sense to you, and things will begin to connect for you. But, most important, don’t play head games with yourself concerning the Holy Trinity. Please continue to study God’s Word and ask God to give you discernment and His understanding. Believe me; in due time, your Holy Spirit will reveal to you just what you need to know about the Holy Trinity, just like my Holy Spirit revealed my Holy Trinity to me. But, I must say, learning about the Holy Trinity and my God’s Word is truly amazing and very fascinating. We will never understand God’s Word completely, however, until we meet our Lord and Savior face-to-face. Know that we are all taller and stronger when we are on our knees! Amen!

    My Lord

The Bible begins, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). He is my Creator of the universe and yours. He is my upholder of all things and yours. He forgives my sins and your sins too. My God is the only one who can
