THE ROYAL CUBIT COLLECTION
The Royal Cubit Collection is being produced as a celebration of the origins of lineal measurement. The delicate symmetry of these ancient rulers can now be shared and the mystery surrounding them exposed. The Royal Cubit Collection brings this history out of the archives and into your home.
These cubit replicas are only possible to produce thanks to very recent advancements in stone engraving technology. Only through these methods is this level of quality reproduction possible. Not only does the item look beautiful, it feels it!
Beyond its physical presence is the history that these rulers represent. They are the foundation of all modern measurement and were the standard for more than 3000 years. The Ceremonial Cubit of Amenemope was a sacred religious object, and Royal Cubits are more than measuring tools. The history of their uses has many interesting facets.
Twenty eight editions of cubit replicas are planned for the total run of production within the Royal Cubit collection. One edition will be produced for each finger of length (digit) on your cubit replica. Each limited edition will be produced in a different kind of material for both the cubit replica and case.
The ancient Egyptians used a large range of materials and only materials that were available to them will be used in the cubit rod reproductions. This provides a broad material selection list to choose from including the following possibilities:
