About this ebook

There may be a time in life when we question ourselves about the existence of a being responsible for the creation, and we feel motivated to ask questions about our existence and its purpose. Who are we? Where do we come from? Does God really exist? What is the soul and how is it different from the spirit? What is reincarnation? Is it possible? What do we have to do to be happy? How can we overcome suffering? What are the virtues and its usage?

Is it important to know the answer to these and other questions, queries that the human being has tried to answer for a long time. Here, we offer reasoning about the answers to these and other interrogatives.

He holds the titles of mechanical and electrical engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a master of business administration from the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac. He lived in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, from 1983 to 1984. Soon after university, he was hired by an international company based in Mexico City. For employment reasons, he moved to the city of Singapore, where he lived from 1996 to 1999, then he was transferred to the city of Viña del Mar, Chile, where he lived from 1999 to 2009. Finally he returned to Mexico in 2010. While living abroad, he had the opportunity to visit more than thirty-five countries. His philosophical and metaphysical concerns led him to investigate different societies, customs, ideologies, and religions, among other things. An avid reader, he decided to combine the results of various investigations and experiences to translate them into a document, and in 2003, he began writing “Cuentos, Poemas, Sonetos y Algo Más” (Stories, Poems, Sonnets and Something Else, a recollection from 1986 till to date), “Un Viaje” (A Journey, a diary written in 1996 while he lived in Asia and transcribed in 2005), and his main work, “Ontología, Estudio Del Ser y De Sus Propiedades Trascendentales” (Ontology, Study of the Being and its Transcendental Faculties, published by Palibrio in 2011). The respect for life, the desire to help his fellow man, but mainly the love for his three daughters and the desire to leave the summary of what he could have transmitted had it not been for the forced separation that they had was the motive and inspiration to publish this literary work, which functions as a guide to better living and happiness. In 2014, George lost his job after twenty-one years of service for the same international company; however, and despite almost going to ruin the strength described in the pages that he wrote, the support from his wife, Maty, and the love that both profess to each other have helped him to rise and keep going forward. At the request of many friends around the world and in order to be able to transmit this legacy to more people, he decided to make its translation into English, which is published in 2015 by Palibrio.

Ontology - Jorge Luis Bazán Morante

    CHAPTER 1

    God is

When questioning: Does or does not exist a superior or divine being and creator responsible of our existence? The answer, to this very transcendental question, could only be: Yes! Or No! – And from there say: No, there is not a creator being and never existed, or yes, there was a creator being or existed and still exists, it’s present. These options are debatable and in both cases, one could try to give examples of the veracity of its own posture and hence, could debate until the end of time.

    Let´s review the two options:

In this case the intention is not to demonstrate the truthfulness of one or the other option, just to consider them as alternatives and let each one of us decide the one that satisfies us the most.

Independently from the answer given, the information and recommendations that are exposed in the second part of this text could be applied on daily life; for those that do not believe in a divine entity as well as for those that do believe in it. For the former, the practice of the explanations within this text, that at the same time are recommendations to live better and happy, will provoke that they could accomplish those objectives that are tangibles; and for those that do believe; the practice of the explanations within this text, will not only provoke that they could accomplish those objectives that are tangibles, they would also attain those objectives that are not and that possess a spiritual transcendence.

Let´s say - There is not a divine entity or superior being responsible for the creation…

If this statement was true, it will mean that we are alone and that our existence is no transcendental at a spiritual level, but transcendental at a historical scope or life itself. Life could then be considered as a challenge or as a game full of happy as well as sad experiences, difficult and easy, with pleasure and suffering, and all this happening randomly. Our life would depend on what we would like to accomplish and on how much we will be willing to fight to achieve our goals or objectives, understanding by this; by our own effort, and perhaps also by the luck that we could have. Therefore we would have less options or resources with respect to faith and hope, we would only worried for our own interests that would benefit ourselves and / or those that depend on us, love ones, and, if we were and behave good an positive, those around us as well.

Now, let´s say - Yes, there is a divine entity or superior being responsible for the creation…

If this statement was true, it will mean that there is a purpose or a reason for our existence, and that it is transcendental on the spiritual and also the historic realm or even for life itself. If we decide or feel the need to believe on a divine entity, let’s call it God, other questions will come up: Who is he? Where is he? Why were we created or for what reason? Is he watching us? Where are we? Etc.

However, there are people born and / or are educated under certain religion, people with faith that does not need answers to the questions above, and just believe in the doctrine or religion and follow it according to its precepts. These questions arise from a personal concern to investigate and by not taking for granted what someone else says or what we hear elsewhere. These questions could also arise by some disappointment, weakness or lack of religion.

To say that there is a divine being, also infers that we are all related, and therefore, we are all part of a whole. People, animals as well as plants and everything around us is interconnected and affects our development throughout our lives. Logic would then state that there is a Creator and a reason for our existence.

There is a Creator or Creators, to whom we commonly call God. We call it God for being a superior entity capable to do something beyond our reach, and for the amount of love that involves the creation of everything we know as well as what we yet do not know.

God is, and it can be felt and perceived through our daily experiences and feelings, including in those moments or circumstances that do not please us, those that bother us, that hurt us or in those that provoke pain to us. It is easy to say that there is God in times of joy, pace and love, but some doubt its existence at times of suffering, and hence, think that they are being punished and therefore find difficult to believe or justify its existence.

If there was no God; mankind existence would have no logical meaning or reason, because by having the consciousness of one self, the ability to discern, creates a purpose for life itself. There is an origin (birth) and a destiny, which we will reach depending on our actions. It is to get to one point from another, a path, and it is up to us achieve that goal. If there was no purpose to life, this in itself would not be justified as such, and therefore it will never happen. We would not be here.

It is also important to consider that there is no need for God’s existence for us to be better persons and be concern for our fellow man; this behavior will always bring us happiness, regardless of religious beliefs.

    CHAPTER 2

    God is love

God is… and what is God? God is love!

Out of nowhere came love at its finest. A love that we call Original Love. This love is the engine of life. It is the first and eternal cause. The Original Love is: God.

The only reason or feeling capable to create our universe is love. No other reason justifies our life as we know it.

What is love? Love is a beautiful feeling. Being love is to have a feeling, or being in a state that goes beyond what we can explain; joy, delight, humility, peace, enthusiasm, etc. Love is a feeling, a feeling of affection that is generated from within, from the soul. It could be love for: people, objects, animals and / or ethereal things that cannot be touched, but can be felt or perceived; like art.

But most importantly, to be love generates appetite to want to share it, and that’s how life arises. The Original Love becomes creation, for the sole purpose of giving an opportunity to another entity to be love.

Therefore, God gives us the opportunity to live, know love and become love. We emerged from Him, to return to Him. This means that we emerged from an Original Love that created us, to become Original Love and be able to create.

God is love, and it would be outrageous to consider that the devil, exists. It simply contradicts the infinite goodness and love of creation. We know and we sense that there is good and there is evil, since it resides in our consciousness, but this is no indication that there is an evil being that is menacing us. Normally we ascribe all those bad things related to evil, to a being that supposedly pushes us to perform them or simply we encounter it along the way. To be clear, those experiences that we consider good as well as those that we consider bad come from God. The good ones because
