I am the mother of two wonderful children, Christopher and Chloe. I was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, and I have a supportive husband, children, parents and sisters who truly support me in all my endeavors. I am enlisted in the United States Navy and have been serving as a Master-At-Arms on active duty since Octaober 2002. Both my jobs, as a mommy and sailor, are very rewarding, yet they can be difficult to balance at times. They require a lot of help, effort, and dedication to make them work together in harmony. During my years of service, I have been on multiple deployments that have been difficult on my family. Without my family’s support of my service, I never would have made it as long as I have. I wrote this book as a way to show a deployment through a child’s eyes and how I made them all special to my children. I wanted to finally have a book available to all my sisters in the service.
