The author is the mother of two daughters, Emily and Florence. She was inspired by them as well as her wonderful dog, Herbie, to create animations and books for three- to five-year-olds. The books are bright, fun, and engaging, and whilst not education, they share the experiences of emotion and life skills and bring a certain element of specialness through Herbie, who is a French Basett Griffon Vendeen. He has a specialness—his Frenchyness—that he shares, thus helping teach children some basic counting and French words along the way.
