About this ebook

This book is a compilation of poems written over the last forty years, including as recently as March 2015. The subject matter is wide rangingfrom nature, religion, and relationships to travel and history, as well as to topics more whimsical and fanciful. I hope you will enjoy reading these poems as much as I enjoyed writing them.

    Time Times Seven

    Time passes

    in the falling

    of leaves

    in the aging

    of trees

    in the passage

    of stars

    in the breaking

    of hearts

    from morning to eve

    in the cry

    of a baby,

    in the crashing

    of waves

    on the shore

    in the slamming

    of a door

    in the eye

    of a storm

    in the rising

    of the sun

    and in its setting…

    time passes

    Sooner Than Later

    Standing in moonlight

    at midnight

    bathed in the silver-bright

    searching the depths

    of the silent sky

    reaching in my own way

    in my mind’s eye

the horizon of some distant sea

far, far beyond this place’s endless string

    of rooftops flat and black…

now waiting, lying on my back

for the first, faint signs of daybreak

    of morning awake

    of escape

    still hours and miles away

    Another Day on Planet Earth

    In moonlight at midnight

the sleeping earth is so quiet

    so uncomplicated

    so serene

    so subdued

    so imbued with peace

as it moves in silent shadow

    between still
