Emma McGuire Mitchell

Emma McGuire Mitchell was married and the mother of two pre-school girls when she was hired as director of children’s education at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, New Jersey. In this capacity for seven years, she trained and placed as many as one hundred teachers yearly to teach 750–800 children in Sunday Church school, developed a yearly two-week observation training school open to churches in surrounding towns, and worked in observation seminars when called on by the New Jersey Synod. In 1983, Emma registered and attended Word of Faith Leadership and Bible Institute. Some of her teachers were Marilyn Hickey, T.L. Osborn, and Lester Sumrall. After graduation she served in Overcomers New Life Fellowship in Brick, New Jersey, and as Bible school administrator, elder, and licensed reverend.
