DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to my mother, for her unconditional love, and happy moments that we shared together.
To inspire those victims of domestic violence, whom I hope would take the courage to face up to it and stand up to it.
Even if the victim is related to their abuser, no abuse should be permissible of any kind
(sexual, verbal, mental, or physical).

Steven was a slender and very good looking, young man.
Which has been said to be the most handsome man in town?
He married a young girl by the name of Tula, without the knowledge of his parents.
Tula, was a nice brunette girl, raised in a humble home.

WEDDING
Peggy’s story starts with the wedding of her parents Steven and Tula.
Tula tells the details after her wedding:
"I fell head over heels the minute I saw Steven.
Soon after meeting him we decided to get married, Steven was twenty- three years old
and I, was seventeen years old."
After the civil wedding, we headed to Steven’s parents’ house that was within walking distance from the court house.
After getting married we headed to his parents’ home.
We entered the house, his parents were sitting across the living room.
Steven cleared his throat yearning to catch their attention and full of joy he announced our wedding to them.
The unexpected news left Steven’s parents in dismay. With their eyes wide open and quiet as death, they looked at us as if we were strange bugs. I could sense was not easily accepted, as I would have hoped it would be.
It was a big disappointment for me, the tension in the atmosphere was very heavy, so then Steven took me by the hand and guided me to his room.
Feeling ashamed and sad, I dropped my body to the floor in a fetal position.
The next morning, we woke up with an Empty stomach since we hadn’t eaten last night. Steven showed me how find my way to the kitchen.
