Jessica Megan An is eighteen years old and is in her senior year at high school. She was born in Toronto, Ontario, and now resides in a small town north of Toronto. Jessica has many hobbies, such as fingernail art, fishing, baking, and collecting anything Marilyn Monroe. Jessica does volunteer work at a retirement home and hopes to pursue a career in geriatrics nursing. Starra Baba and the Magical Pierogies was originally written as her grade 12 short-story English assignment. Growing up with a Polish father and an Italian mother inspired her to write about characters and experiences she grew up with. Who knew that an English project would turn into a wonderful story that her family wanted to share with the world.

This was so for hundreds of years, and it is still used today. However, this story is not about her.
This story is about a young girl named Marisha, who lived in a village in the medieval days near the border of Poland and Ukraine. Her village was in the kingdom of the late King Stanislov II. He and his wife died during a rebellion fourteen year ago, and now his brother Hugo rules the land until Prince Henry comes of age.
