About this ebook

The group arrived in the City of Shalom a few days later with hunger, exhaustion, and seasickness. It was night, and they went to their homes to rest. The next morning, they walked along the city to give testimonies of what God has done for them on the journey they came from. The people were ignoring them, and they saw the corruption, spiritual sickness, and sinful desires in the people. Gallob, Leeyob, Dolly, and Joseph called Justin, the leader of the church committee, for an urgent meeting to save the city from self-destruction. The people in the city decided to please themselves and started listening to the desires of their flesh and not be sanctified and righteous in the presence of God. Many people became anxious and had evil thoughts and were tempted to commit much sin. The people in the city who became self-centered and prideful decided to separate themselves from the good and humble ones that were obedient and at peace with others. They continued their ministry and began to pray for the sake of those who are lost and are fulfilling the lust of the flesh. Some lost interest in doing Gods work and became evil minded and were possessed with demonic spirits and darkness. A riot started, and people were out of control and became violent. They destroyed houses, beat the weak and old. They took people out into the woods and burned them to death. One child died from a stampede of a group of people and their riot due to her physical handicap and was thrown into a nearby fire. Jonathan and the other church leaders tried to control the people, but some of them threatened to burn down the church and forced the church leaders to leave the city. The leaders gathered together, closed the gates that surrounded the church and the court yard. The church decided to fast for seven days and prayed in the spirit, or spoke in tongues. On the seventh day of the fast and prayer, the church opened the gates, and a few people ran into the courtyard of the church with fear, hopelessness, weariness, and mourning in pain and misery. The corrupted ones returned back to their homes to please themselves, committing adultery and other sexual sins. The other faithful, obedient servants who were left behind in the city hid themselves from the wicked, evil minded, and those that were ungodly. Meanwhile, the leaders came out of the church into the courtyard, and the people that entered were comforted, and encouraged to endure and persevere. Gallob then stepped up and spoke to them.
I want to speak to everyone in the city at 1400 tomorrow. Go and tell them they have a choice to make. Now that they know about the good news and experienced the truth, they will be given a choice to leave or to stay here with us, said Gallob.
What about the children, Gallob? Dolly asked.
Those that are young and not able to listen and understand may leave with their parents who choose to keep them, but those who are mature and at an age to decide for themselves will be given a chance to decide their hearts desire. For whatever comes out of their mouth is whats in their hearts.
Father, our city may soon be destroyed because I forgot to tell you that when we were on our way back home on the ship, I had a dream that a severe storm will pass here and swallow those that corrupted themselves and sin in the presence of God with no fear, said Joseph.
Joseph and the young crew prayed before they stepped out of the courtyard.
That is a revelation of things to come. It may happen sooner than you think, said Gallob.
The following morning, all the leaders of the church went out to the homes of the people and told everyone that a meeting was scheduled in the courtyard of the church at 1400. Leeyana, Galila, and Jonathan also spoke up and wanted to go and save the children who were lost out there. Gallo, Leeyob, Dolly, and Justin gathered together to make a decision if the young adults can go out there alone. The adults decided that Joseph can supervise and help Leeyana,

    CHAPTER 1

A Time to Kill, a Time to Heal

I T WAS 1540 in a city called Wales in England. There was a king named Blair. He was ruthless and had no pity for anyone. He had four sons. The youngest of them was called Sir Kelly, a knight. His older sons were also knights but lived on their own south of Wales. In the city of Wales, there were many villages, food markets, tax collectors, farms, and beautiful landscape. All the villages were miles away from the palace and the marketplace. The villages called Georges, Timbuto, and Doran were the farthest away from the palace. Harvon and Gore were a few miles south of the palace. There were mountains, hills, and valleys. Among the valleys were the villages. A great river flowed into the sea and separated the plains and grasslands north and south. Timbuto and Doran sat north of the river while Georges sat south near the palace.

In the village of Doran, it was twice the population of all the other villages because there was love and peace among the people. About two hundred people lived in the village, and they had easier access to seafood than the other villages because they lived closer to the ocean. The Gallo family was the one that was popular and has been there the longest. When there was a problem, most neighbors would go to the Gallo family for help. Gallob, the son of Gallo, was the strongest and biggest of all young men in the village; that was why he was the leader of security for the village. Leeyob and Vanessa were the mother and daughter. Leeyob was thirteen years old and had a lot of friends in the village. Gallo was the head of the village. He was popular and had led the village with pride. Most families would rely on the Gallo family for food and other needs. There were horses, donkeys, pigs, chickens, roosters, a few cows, and a water well. But now most of the cattles and other animals they had were gone. They were stolen by knights and other citizens from the other villages. Therefore, Gallo would usually take the men once a week to the market in Timbuto to buy food for the people in the village.

One evening, Gallob was out alone in the forest, on the outskirts of Doran. It was almost sundown when Gallob walked in his house with a load of wood on his back.

Father, I brought some wood for the night. Where should I put them?

Put them by the back door near the dinner table. Thank you, son, he said.

Vanessa, Gallo’s wife, came in with Leeyob, their daughter, after an afternoon visit to their neighbor’s house.

Gallo, did you get the wood we need for the night?

Yes. Gallob placed them over by the dinner table.

Leeyob walked over to her father, Gallo, and asked him if she could walk to the river with her friends, Thera and Joffasa. Thera and Joffasa were sisters and were going out to the river two days from now when the guards would take a break and walk into Timbuto for morning meals.

Can I go to the river with them please?

Yes, you may, but you must return before lunch is ready to be served.

Vanessa did not trust Leeyob and told her, I will not let you go out alone tomorrow. Gallob must go with you.

Gallo agreed with what his wife said too. Leeyob could not stand her brother and asked them, What can Gallob do? All he does is run around in the woods every day. Her brother heard what she said and replied, Who cares about you, Leeyob! It does not matter to me if a guard catches you and bring you to the king as a slave.

Do not say things like that to your sister, Vanessa replied.

You both can go together. If Leeyob does not want to, then she will not go at all.

Okay, he can come with me as long as he does not interrupt me with my friends, Leeyob replied.

Gallo asked for everyone’s attention. Okay, everyone, do you all remember my good old friend Futhro, the monk that I met in the marketplace a few years ago? I met with him not too long ago in the marketplace again. He should be here in Doran soon. I invited him to our home to stay for a few days. I want everyone to welcome him and his daughter to Doran. He told me that he has something special to share with us and the rest of the village.

The next morning, after sunrise, William Futhro rode into the village on a horse with a sack of food and other goods for the people. He greeted everyone with blessings for a thoughtful welcome from them and asked everyone in the village to gather together in front of Gallo’s house at midday. Before the meeting, he went over to Gallo and his family. Gallo and Gallob helped him bring his things in their home.

May the Lord bring peace and love to you and your family. It is a pleasure to see you again, my good friend Gallo. How are you doing?

We are all doing fine, Gallo said. Where is your daughter Dolly? Gallo asked.

It is a long story, said Futhro. We returned to the city of Wales, and a guard saw us in the woods and began to follow us on his horse. We both ran into a cave near a river. He could not find us and decided to get down the horse and searching for us. I took the horse from where he left it and continued our journey. We did not see him again. We were hungry and did not know where we were. I left Dolly alone near a cave and searched for a village nearby to find food. I did find some food from Timbuto and returned to the cave. When I went into the cave, she was gone.

Gallo wanted to help Futhro find his daughter and told him, Do not worry about that. Early tomorrow morning, my son and I will help you search for your daughter.

How kind and compassionate you are. May the Lord bless you and your family, Futhro said. Futhro rested for a few hours until it was midday.

At midday, everyone gathered together to hear what Futhro had in mind.

"Good afternoon, men, women, and children. My name is William Futhro, a Christian monk that has good news to share with you all. I was once a soldier, guard, and almost a knight for King Blair. One night, my own people betrayed me. My wife and oldest daughter were killed. I was out, monitoring the village of Gore. When I returned, I found them dead. My youngest daughter hid herself under the bed as she watched her mother and sister die. She told me that the assailant dressed in silver and with a mask on raped them and cut their heads off and took them to the king. He was with two other guards. I think I know who killed them, but I do not know if I will live to help change their wicked ways. My daughter Dolly and I escaped from the city and went south of the city where we met with this man in a cottage with many books and other things. He welcomed us and allowed us to stay with him until we were ready to leave. Throughout the time we were there, he revealed the greatest thing we have ever heard. He spoke to us about God and his love for the world. He spoke to us about salvation through Jesus Christ. He also spoke to us about the Trinity. We read the book called the Holy Bible, and before we left, we had accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It was several months that we stayed there and then we decided to help spread the good news. We took some small Bible books with us and moved on spreading the good news. He called us disciples, Christian monk.

"There is also another message I have come to reveal. One of you in this village will be known across the world. If you ask me how, I do not know. There is one thing I know. There is a large key that is hidden deep within a cave a very long time ago from three peasants who knew a secret place that only the key can open the doors. No one knows where this key is. Generation after generation, the message has been passed on. My father told me, and now I am telling you all. I do not know if you will believe it or not. I think there is only one way we can find this key. Many legends say that there is a land of paradise only to be seen by using the key. No one has seen it after the peasants died. My father told me that it
