    Prologue

W alking downstairs Amelia went to the living room and flopped herself on the couch, grabbing the remote and turning the TV on.

Of course, once again everything is news Amelia boasted sarcastically.

About to shut it off, the following words on the tv caught her attention.

On new reports the crazy riot of the wild creature virus has been confirmed and connected with scientist Zander Hails.

The reporter explained while a photo of Amelia’s father came up on the screen.

"The procedure (Chameleon) well known and famous for changing the appearance of the iris has now changed the appearance of the patients as well.

Doctors are calling this (the wild creature) virus for a reason.

Not only had the procedure turned all the iris’s into a different form of color but everything else as well. Here is one patient who is in the hospital." They showed a photo of a woman in a hospital bed, she was the most horrifying thing Amelia had ever seen.

Her eyes were closed but her hair was nearly gone and it looked burned in a way, her skin was a green moss color, Her nails were a brown rotting color. The patient’s before photo looked nothing like what she looked like now.

The woman was a beautiful model. Blonde, blue eyed, sunkissed tan, just a gorgeous a woman and now she was the worst version of herself. amelia cringed at the sight of her.

"As you can see, she no longer looks like she did before and this isn’t the only side effect for ALL the patients that did this procedure.

The reason why almost all of them are going crazy is because the procedure caused a horrible chemical imbalance in their brain causing them to become schizophrenic.

Which for those of you that don’t know, It’s a psychotic disorder characterized by a loss of contact with the environment, by noticeable deterioration in the level of functioning in everyday life, and by disintegration of personality expressed as disorder of feeling, thought (as delusions), perception (as hallucinations), and behavior." The reporter was still talking but Amelia tuned her out as she started thinking to herself

"why hadn’t her Father told her any of these side effects. Or did they just happen overnight?

In complete shock and confusion amelia’s thoughts were interuppted by a banging at the door.

Causing Amelia to jolt herself off the couch in surprise.

Walking towards the door she could hear people arguing on the other side, curious she looked through the peephole.

Amelia rolled her eyes as she discovered it was reporters!

    Already! she breathed to herself.

Annoyed she finally decided to confront her father and went to his basement door and knocked as loud as possible.

What is it amelia? he shouted behind the door.

"Dad come on let me in. we need to talk.

    Theres reporters at the door.

Everything is getting a little crazy." She responded as she looked at the bottom of the door, she could see his shadow move.

Amelia we will talk later. I have to fix this. He replied sounding just as worried as she was.

She could see his shadow move away from the door and heard him walk away from her.

Mumbling words to herself she stomped up the stairs in complete frustration, anger and mixed emotions.

Not knowing what to think anymore it’s as if everything was falling apart.

Throwing herself on the bed trying to drown out all the noise the reporter’s we’re making.

She closed her eyes tightly shut and covered her ear’s as she got into a little ball,

As she let sleep take control over her.

"She was laying on grass, It smelled peaceful like the way it smells after it rains.

Amelia looked around, the sky felt like it was going in circles, and as if the ground was holding her down.

Glancing to her side, there was a tree with red leaves a few feet away from her.

Beautiful gigantic tree, As if it could reach the clouds.

The leaves seemed to be still, as if frozen with no wind in sight.

Hypnotized by its beauty she tried to get up to touch it, But couldnt even lift her fingers off the ground. Feeling paralyzed, the only thing she could move was her head and eyes.

Angry, she stared at the tree some more.

She felt as if the harder she stared the more it seemed as if she could see the wind swirling around the tree, howling, enraged for not being able to move the leaves.

The wind howled so sharply it made her cringe and close her eyes shut.

Wishing she could cover her ears from the painful cry the wind was making, But all she could do was shut her eyes harder as she bit down on her lip. Feeling as if her ear drums we’re about bursting when all of a sudden she thought she heard someone scream her name

AMELIA! AMELIA!. Then, the howling became a shrieking scream." Amelia’s eyes flew open from her nightmare as she coughed up blood.

    Chapter 1

    Chameleon

A melia: The story I’m about to tell is confusing, many souls will really Never fully understand what really happened that day, or understand the fact that I’m ancient to their world

She paused her fingers from typing. As anxiety got to her.

The keyboard letters on the laptop were already stressing her out enough as it was.

It felt like ages since she’d used a laptop, she thought to herself.

The rain started to hit the car window a little harder now, as she looked up and saw the heavy drops fall.

Closing her eyes, she let peace take over her mind and re-focus.

She needed to finish her letter before it was too late.

Inhaling deeply she opened up her eyes and looked at the screen. As She exhaled and started up again.

    "You see the thing is,

I’m not really like them I’ve changed from what I used to be. What my life has been through has changed me, what I’ve seen and heard It’s not really believable. It’s more like the story being told from a child to their ears.

A lie that never fully developed even though every bit is true and detailed and declared with life and passion trying to make them hear, and for what! so they can laugh and say I’m stupid for trying to convince them
