These records weave in and out of the factual truths and the possible truths of the 18thdynasty of Ancient Egypt and the ancient Hebrews.

Moses startling birth, survival of the death edict and astonishing seat of power in the palace of the Pharaoh who ordered his death was not a co-incidence.

His destiny was designed to cross with the giant sons of God and in his final mission, he was instructed to kill the last of the giant races that were sired by these star visitors to our earth. They had earned a unique and terrifying retribution for their secret abominations.

These records of Thoth bear witness to the marvelous and astonishing works of the Master upon this earth from the very beginning of eternity.

IN THE BEGINNING

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

—Genesis 1:14

On the eighth day, after Creation had rested, energy beings from the surrounding lights in the firmaments of the heavens were summoned to the crystalline kingdom’s great hall. In the hall sat a select council of ninety ancient great masters who remained silent and apart in their roles as witnesses to this gathering. This was a gathering of marvellous giant entities. Energy beings formed from the essence of the primary energy of their planets. Each entity was the agent of one of the twelve star systems that surrounded the blue planet. Their purpose was to act there for signs, for seasons, and for days and years.

The presiding Master spoke: Planetary energy beings, present the energies you were commanded to bring with you.

In their creation, the planetary beings were an energy field, but in accordance with the grand Master’s galactic order, the beings formed themselves into the image of the masters, to reflect their glory. Once transformed, the beings bowed their heads, first to the ninety ancients, then to the presiding Master. Their twelve bowed heads exuded an energy force from their foreheads, and twelve clouds of vapour formed, one from each forehead.

The Master watched as each cloud in turn formed a rainbow arc across its width, and then he commanded, Morning Son, come forth. From outside the hall, a being, whose beauty stunned the assembly silently entered the great hall and placed twelve large golden goblets on the crystal altar in front of the Master. Indicating the being, the Master said, This son is my most beautiful, created in my image, and he shall be as the morning star, guiding the blue planet that I have named Earth.

The Master raised his hand, and the twelve clouds moved from the beings’ foreheads to hover, one over each goblet. Their rainbows reflected endlessly around the crystalline hall’s walls, and all present were bathed in a shimmering glow of varied colours. The Master dropped his hand, and slowly each cloud condensed into a golden liquid and poured precisely into the goblet below.

The Master said, At this time we are having a ceremony to bless and name guardians of Earth. You have been summoned here as our elite creations, and I have a precise purpose for you. You shall be as the fingers of my right hand, with a specific work to complete in my great plan for Earth. You will be my guardians and guides for the progression of my beloved Earth. Each of you shall have a responsible dispensation to carry out my work, which shall guide Earth in her cycles to her ultimate celestial glory, in my time frame. Great will be the responsibility, but great will be your reward. Know, too, that failure to obey my will shall bring our wrath against you. Is each of you willing to submit your will to mine? The Master looked into the eyes of each being in turn.

Oh, great Master, will we be able to see this Earth? asked one of the beings.

Thoth! The Master called, and a shorter, stockier ancient entity entered the great hall. Thoth is the record keeper for this planet I called Earth. He was witness to its birth and will be its witness until the end of Earth’s mortal time to ensure accurate records are kept of all activity on it. Thoth turned and bowed first to the silent conclave of ancients behind him and then to the beings. The Master continued: Thoth, show them your records of Earth’s history. Thoth picked up a long, thin crystal stick wrapped in a fine golden thread and pointed it towards the area above the altar. Slowly, a violet ray beamed upward, and gradually a vision materialised above the crystal altar and the past seven stages of Earth’s creation appeared in a three-dimensional form. There were gasps of amazement expressed at the beauty and splendour of Earth, culminating in the creation of Man and his mate, Wo-man, in the Master’s image.

Master, am I correct in my assessment that in creating this new planet you have used a combination of both existing and new matter? exclaimed one entity.

Yes, replied the Master. Most of the energy within the centre of the earth is new, but much of the outer layers have been taken from existing planets in other systems in agreement with the grand masters’ synod. I did this in order to expedite Earth’s readiness for Man, for Man’s mate, Wo-man, will be seduced by the dragon and will fall in order than mortals might be on Earth.

Master, this being called Man that is created in your image, although a lot smaller. There were shared smiles between the entities. What is his purpose?

His primary purpose is to remember where he came from and to obey me in order to learn the wisdoms vital to control his potential divine creativity. He will have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon Earth. His ultimate purpose will be revealed in the latter days, depending on his growth of wisdom, replied the Master, and once more, he asked, Are you willing to accept the mantle of guide for your dispensation?

Without hesitation, all twelve beings bowed their heads and answered in one voice, We are.

For this ceremony we require the highest frequencies. He handed a bowl of powdered white gold to Thoth. Thoth approached the twelve chalices of glowing essence and sprinkled the powder into each bowl. He then stepped up to the altar and faced them, saying, Cup your hands tightly together like this. Cupping his hands together, he bent his fingers inwards to create a heart shape. Then bend your fingers towards the middle of your hand and keep them still. As they followed his instructions, he picked up one chalice after the other and passed them by the Master, who blew into each chalice. Thoth then emptied the liquid of one chalice into each of the beings’ cupped hands. As the chalice emptied into their hands, the liquid hardened into the shape of the centre of their hands, forming a heart of crystal stone; each stone started to pulse and took on a coloured hue.

Walking from one being to the other and laying his hand upon their chests, the Master said, Each stone represents your energy and commitment of obedience to me with your palm prints as your signature. I formed your stone for you individually, and precious this stone shall be. It shall serve as a conduit of my will for your works and as a helpmeet in your actions. The form your hands have made will henceforth be known as a heart, like a heart that beats in our chests to keep us alive. This heart will always be a recognition of energy, love and commitment. Each stone’s colour will match and magnify your energies, to aid with the development of Earth. As he spoke, a symbol formed on each stone. This symbol will represent your gathering of stars, now called constellations, and you will be known as the Sons of the Zodiac. You will be the protectors of the light rays which bathe Earth and develop different qualities. Turning back to stand up on the altar, the Master nodded at Thoth, who unfurled a long scroll held by two sticks of wood and began to read. "You and your chosen star field energies are now endowed with a new energy that is synchronised with the energy of the earth. As her heart beats, so too shall your energy pulse and radiate into the firmament surrounding the earth planet. Remain vigilant always, and in place, in accordance with the Master’s universal order. The ancients bear witness to your appointment and accountability. So be it. This will be recorded in the earth’s journal. So be it. In your rebirth as guardians, you shall be called as follows:

"First, Aries (Hapi). March 21 to April 20. Aries is symbolised by the ram. The ruling planet is Mars, and its element is fire. Amongst other secondary stones, Aries’ primary stone will be the ruby. Its energy will be the fifth ray—the ray of intelligence and understanding.

"Second, Taurus (Re). April 21 to May 21. Taurus is symbolised by the bull. Its ruling planet is Venus, and its element is earth. Amongst its other secondary stones, the Taurean primary stone will be the sapphire. Its energy will be the fourth ray—the ray of harmony through conflict.

"Third, Gemini (Sobek). May 22 to June 21. Gemini is symbolised by the twins. Its ruling planet is Mercury, and its element is air. Amongst its other secondary stones, Gemini’s primary stone shall be the emerald. Its energy will be the third ray—the ray of concrete intelligence.

"Fourth, Cancer (Tatenen). June 22 to July 22. Cancer is symbolised by the crab. Its ruling planet is the moon, and its element is water. Cancer’s primary stone will be beryl. Its energy shall be the second ray—the ray of wisdom and love.

"Fifth, Leo (Amun). July 23 to August 23. Leo is symbolised by the lion. Its ruling planet is the sun, and its element is fire. Leo’s stone will be the diamond. Its energy shall be the first ray—the ray of power and will.

"Sixth, Virgo (Khnum), August 24 to September 22. Virgo is symbolised by the virgin. Its ruling planet is Mercury, and its element is earth. Virgo’s stone will be jasper. Its energy shall be the twelfth ray—the ray of divine mission.

"Seventh, Libra (Ptah). September 23 to October 22. Libra is symbolised by the scales. Its ruling planet is Venus, and its element is air. Libra’s stone will be jacinth. Its energy shall be the eleventh ray—the ray of service.

"Eighth, Scorpio (Qebu). October 23 to November 21. Scorpio is symbolised by the scorpion. Its ruling planet is Pluto, and its element is water. Along with its secondary stones, Scorpio’s primary stone shall be topaz. Its energy shall be the tenth ray—the ray of knowledge of divinity.

"Ninth, Sagittarius (Anubis). November 22 to December 21. Sagittarius is symbolised by the archer. Its ruling planet is Jupiter, and its element is fire. Sagittarius’ primary stone will be agate. Its energy shall be the ninth ray—the ray of joy.

"Tenth, Capricorn (Sokar). December 22 to January 20. Capricorn is symbolised by the goat. Its ruling planet is Saturn, and its element is earth. Capricorn’s stone shall be onyx. Its energy shall be the eighth ray—the ray of cleansing and releasing old patterns.

"Eleventh, Aquarius (Apis). January 21 to February 19. Aquarius is symbolised by the water bearer. Its ruling planet is Uranus, and its element is the air. Aquarius’ stone will be carbuncle. Its energy shall be the seventh ray—the ray of transmutation of negative energy.

Twelfth, Pisces (Atum). February 20 to March 20. Pisces is symbolised by the fish. The ruling planet is Neptune, and its element is water. Pisces’ primary stone shall be amethyst. Its energy shall be the sixth ray—the ray of devotion.

The beings bowed their heads in understanding at the huge responsibilities that were being given to them. One by one, they took their stone heart and placed it on the surface where Thoth had shown them the planet earth. The Master instructed, Hold hands. The next part of the ceremony must be completed in total concentration, and at your highest and purest vibration. Thoth, join in. I am going to place these stones in the sixth dimension of planet Earth and place them on the crystal grid which binds the earth plates together, creating pathways for the energy rays to flow along. This Crystalline Grid is an icosahedron, and is the energetic lattice that binds the earth. This grid will reflect and amplify our energies to develop and enhance the earth’s growth. The total activation involves combining your 12 different energies to achieve the full resonant vibratory rate. Visualize the grid as a geodesic sphere sparkling as a multi-faceted, brilliant gemstone. This first crystal grid will be used to anchor further grids as the planet develops. This and other sequences of divine symbols is the language of the universes that I have created. These symbols, called math, have a symmetry and an energy that is perfect and invariable. Now let us continue.

An image of an icosahedral grid of twelve points and twenty equilateral triangles formed above the stones. The Master closed his eyes while the assembly bowed their heads in intense concentration, and a crackling and humming sound started in the room. Each being in the room began to intone a musical key, and the noise was one of the crashing of waves, and thunder. Its intensity grew until every atom in the hall was filled with an energy of warmth, and then the sound abated until there was a calm silence. Lifting their heads, the beings looked to the Master, who opened his eyes and said, Behold my works.

Dropping their hands and looking around, the assembly saw a coloured ray beam from each of the stones towards the Sons of the Zodiac. Slowly the stones started to pulse and rise as the Master passed his hand over each stone, anchoring the qualities of light in each one. Then the stones fixed themselves to the points on the Icosahedron, and the whole grid lit up with pulsating lights. Then there was a shudder and bang as the light whipped around the room, and suddenly the grid stabilised, aglow with beautiful qualities like those of a multi-coloured electronic coat. Then the grid rose from the surface and started spinning slowly, and the colours spread throughout the room—colours of every possible combination and hue. Faster and faster it spun as the grid moved through the dimensions of space and time

The Master continued: Know that these stones are all equal. No stone is superior to another. Their energies feed each other, they are dependent on one another, and their balance is stabilised by each of their energies. The grid may be unbalanced if even one of the stones is not in place. These stones represent you, sons, and just as the stones can only be effective in unison, so too will you be dependent on one another and effective only in unity. It is only in united harmony that the earth will grow and develop in our planned order.

The presiding Master indicated to the assembly that they should stand, and he turned to face the enclave of witnessing ancient great masters. Bowing deeply to them, he said, It is done. They in turn stood up, bowed in return to the assembly, and silently left the hall. After the last ancient grand master had disappeared from view, the Master turned to face the sons and said, Now we will visit some important places, but in order to do that, we have to lower our frequencies to the third dimension, so seat yourselves and lower your frequencies as we prepare to visit Earth.

The morning son stood up and went to gather the chalices. Master, he said, there are remnants of the energies at the bottoms of the chalices.

I know, said the Master. Secure them in mine storehouse,

The morning son emptied the chalices and put the stones into a smaller container and quickly slipped them into his robe. Checking his master’s attention, he was flustered to see that this action had not gone unnoticed by him. Expecting a challenge from his master, he was surprised when none was issued, but he was uncomfortable as his master continued to look at him with what seemed to be deep sadness.

The Master turned and looked around the hall and saw that the Sons of the Zodiac were changing form again; they reduced in size and became denser. They were slower to move, and slowly breathing in the lower level oxygen mix that had filled the hall.

Follow me said the Master, and the assembly followed him into another great chamber which had a beautiful vista of the galaxies below. The chamber had smooth burnished-silver walls, with a multitude of narrow slots in which were embedded soft lights. In the centre of the room was an arrow-headed burnished-silver craft with delta-shaped horizontal side fins. It had a crystal dome along its spine which allowed the beings to see that inside the craft there was sufficient seating for them. The dome flipped open when the Master touched it, and pointing to the seating within, he ordered, Enter and seat yourselves.

Climbing into the craft, Aries noted, This body is a cumbersome container to move in.

Aquarius laughed. It is so hard to manage all these appendages with this weight.

The morning son, playing with his crystal stones, sat silently towards the back as everyone took their places. On the Master’s command, the craft gradually lifted and moved towards the blue planet he had named Earth

For a long time the group flew around the earth, marvelling at the works planned and created at the Master’s command. Finally, they descended towards an area that was a jewel of exquisite beauty in the crown of Earth’s creations, and the Master said, "Now we go to my garden of creation, which I have set apart for man and his mate. I made this for the well-being of Man and his mate, Wo-man, and filled it with every creature I have created, for the delight of Man and Wo-man. For their wholesome sustenance, I have placed every growing plant I have created in order that they might eat of the fruits thereof in gratitude and humility. Nothing evil is allowed within this garden that can harm man and his mate. There is but one plant’s fruit here that they may not partake of. This tree of knowledge is set aside as a divine instrument and is forbidden to them until my time is ready. Here you may get out and walk amongst my creatures. My garden of creation is at a slightly higher vibration than the rest of the earth, as the humans are innocents and pure.

The craft landed, and the Sons of the Zodiac awkwardly got out of their seats. As they got used to walking, they were amazed to see the variety of creatures in the area. Sagittarius commented, There seem to be creatures here that we did not see in the great hall.

Yes, said the Master. This garden, my garden of creation is the beginning of mortal life, the place of creation. After both a male and female form of a creature have been designed, they are able to replicate themselves through reproduction. Their offspring are free to leave my garden of creation and move into the denser world around us, which has been prepared for them. Once they have left my garden of creation and their vibrations have lowered, they are unable to return. They will be unable to see my garden of creation anymore.

Gemini asked, And that will be the same for your humans?

No, the Master replied, they will remain here in this place which was prepared for them until I deem them ready for the next step of their progression. As the Master spoke, the group turned as they were approached by the two mortals.

Bowing to the Master, Man spoke. Hail, great Master. As instructed, we have prepared a table of the fruits of the garden.

Wo-man remained silent as she walked with Man, until they reached the table set up for them. Then she said, Here are our offerings to you, Master.

The Sons of the Zodiac saw a table filled with the most sumptuous array of food, bursting with colour and goodness. Not understanding what was required of them they looked at the Master for wisdom. Waving his hand over the table, he said, "Put this food into your mouths and experience your new taste buds as do the humans. These are the fruits of my garden of creation. Each morsel I designed with the purpose of providing good nutrition for the mortal body’s growth and well-being. In your new bodies, you do not need these foods for sustenance, but you can enjoy their tastes and textures in order to learn about mortal life. Eat and learn, but stay away from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, for that is forbidden to all.’

The Sons looked eager to begin their lesson and walked around the table selecting foods to put into their mouths. As they bit into the fruits and vegetables, the tastes varied from delicate to spicy, the textures from hard to soft, and the smells from faint to pungent. What a delightful experience, said Taurus. You could never grow weary of this delicious food.

As the Sons of the Zodiac slowed down in their tasting, Wo-man said please join us in our quiet place in the garden.

It was a lazy afternoon as the sons sat on the verdant grasses and questioned Man and Wo-man on their lifestyle, played with the animals, and admired the surrounding scenery. Wo-man stood up and walked towards an approaching being. Hail, Morning Light, greeted Wo-man as he approached. Welcome. She then noticed his hand in his robe and asked, And why do you hold your hand in your robe? What do you have in there? Morning Light drew out his hand with the container of stones he had collected from the meeting. Oh, how exquisite they are! she exclaimed. Let me make you a garland with them so you can display their colours. She ran off to a nearby bed of reeds and returned with some beaten reeds and a mixture containing acacia tree sap. We have discovered much about the plants we live amongst, explained Wo-man. She twirled the reeds into a thin string and placed the sap on it. The stones stuck strongly to the line. She stood behind the Morning Son and gently tied the reed around his neck. (Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created) As she worked in silence, a palpable energy emanated from Morning Light, and all present shifted uncomfortably as it spread amongst them. Upon finishing her work, Wo-man stood back and brushed Morning Light’s hair away from his neck to admire the stone chain. Looking into his face to see his pleasure, she gasped quickly at the intensity she saw in his eyes. Puzzled, she shook her head and returned to her place on the grass with Man.

Perhaps it was the energy from the stones, or perhaps he was just overwhelmed by the events of the day, but to Morning Light, Wo-man looked so exquisitely beautiful, so precious, and so delicate. Her laughter was like the ripples on a crystal stream. For a brief second, he just longed to hold her and have her with him forever, just him, and he envied Man.

The lights of the garden of creation flickered for a moment, and the Master looked up, concerned, staring straight at Morning Light, and then the moment was gone. The Master grew still, and he knew envy had taken root in the garden, unbeknownst to and unseen by the mortals.

By then night had fallen, and the Sons of the Zodiac were pointing out their star clusters to Man and Wo-man. Cancer approached the Master. We so love your concept of masculine and feminine; could some us of develop the feminine qualities?

The Master smiled and answered, There is no definition of what form you may assume! You have been granted free agency in your choices, so I will refer to you simply as the Zodiac, both masculine and feminine.

Cancer excitedly ran back to the group and repeated the Master’s words. After much debating, and much questioning of Man and Wo-man, they made their final choices. Four of them—Cancer, Virgo, Gemini, and Pisces—chose the feminine qualities. The remaining eight chose to remain masculine. The Master finally indicated it was time to return to the Crystal Hall, and he bade Man and Wo-man farewell. After entering the silver craft again, the beings found their energy to be waxing for the first time in their existence. Puzzled, they asked the Master how this could be, and he answered, I have covered your energy with a mortal energy so that you learn about the mortal needs in order that you have an understanding of how to support their needs. As the craft rose into the galaxy, the beings sat quietly contemplating all the new information they had been filled with in this time. They had taken the first step of their work.

After the craft landed within the silver hall, the beings exited and followed the Master back to the crystal hall. Taking up seats around a crystal table, they found a goblet at each seat, filled with golden liquid. Drink, ordered the Master. This is a divine food for your energies, for you have much still to learn.

Master, said Pisces hesitantly, I fear that we cannot continue in our present form on your Earth; we are too different, and our vibratory rate is too high. I do not question your wisdom, but I fear failing you.

The Master responded quietly, I am aware of your limitations, Pisces; I foresaw it would be too difficult for you to maintain a third-dimensional low-frequency body over a long period, and as such, I have set aside another world where I have created hybrid beings that carry half of your gene pool and half of mine. I have created them in my image and have called them giants since they are demigod star beings within my worlds. They are currently immortal and have the potential to become as I am, should I deem them worthy. They are precious to me, and I shall introduce them to you, for I wish each of you to select one giant being who will represent your energy on Earth. Choose wisely, for your works will depend upon their works. Now Morning Light will take you to their world, where you will spend time getting to know them and make your choice of agent. I shall know when you have made your choices and will enable the next step in my plans for my beloved Earth. Now return to your places in the universe and await my summons.

I, Thoth, do make a true and accurate record of these events.

Mine has been the work of astronomy, astrology, the science of numbers, mathematics, geometry, land surveying, medicine, botany, theology, civilised government, the alphabet, reading, writing, and oratory on the earth. I have served as scribe to the twelve primary light beings who came from a distant world to the earth. I served them and their issue well, and the mortals under their care. I devised a writing called hieroglyphs, which is a sacred signage. I am the true author of every work, of every branch of knowledge, mortal and divine. I was appointed by He who is on high and through the power of the sacred knowledge of Shekkenah.

I am a servant of He who is King of all that is known and unknown.

I have done all that I was appointed to do in this time of creation.

CHAPTER 1

Council in Heaven

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

—John 3:12

Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

—Revelation 12:7-17

2000 years later

On the great celestial planet, whose name shall remain a sacred secret, stands a massive and magnificent crystal pyramid kingdom that emits a light so bright as to make the sun look dull. This is the dwelling place of the Master. From his throne, he overlooks all that he has created. Worlds without number has he created, and he is master architect and master of all.

In the time before mortal existence, legions of spirit beings came into the great hall of the Power Throne chamber. Silently they filled the space in never-ending numbers. They came in reverent silence while banks of winged beings sang sacred hymns. Numberless fiery energies stood in attendance to the right and the left of the throne, and banks of primary spirits hovered above in clouds of light.

As the winged beings’ voices rose to a crescendo of heavenly song, two beings entered and sat, one on the right-hand side of the throne, and one on the left-hand side. All who were gathered looked upon these two beings with love. Only one of them looked back with love, while the other looked back with disdain.

An expectant silence fell, and into the hall came the Master, who took his rightful position upon the Power Throne. Every being present sang sacred songs of praise, and the sweet sounds filled the universes.

He sat in silence, listening to the voices praising him, and he surveyed those beings he had created in his own image, spread out in front of him. He knew that their time here with him had reached a point of decision. He had such great love for these beings in his image, and he knew each one of them intimately. He knew their strengths and their weaknesses, and he knew what potential they each had. His love for them lit their world. Turning to his left side, he watched his beautiful son, close to his heart, fondly called the Morning Light. This son’s countenance was exquisite in its perfection. He was concerned at the arrogance he saw on his son’s face as he looked out over his younger siblings. Now, turning to his right, he looked at his other beloved son, the one he called his Star of the Evening because his light shone forth like a torch to lead the way in the dark. Looking at this son pleased him immensely, especially because he saw only great love upon his son’s face as he looked out over his younger siblings. When the songs ended, he raised his hand and all attention was focused on him.

"I have summoned you all here today to tell you that the time has come for you younger sons and daughters to move into the next stage of your growth as I have decreed. You have all developed as far as you can in this kingdom, and it is time to send you out into a world that I have prepared for your future growth. Unbeknown to you, your older brother here on my right has been busy creating this world according to my instructions, and he has prepared a choice world to receive your spirits.

Hearts Divided consists of three short stories along the same theme: grandmothers who were soldier brides; granddaughters involved with soldiers. Ruth Shelton is studying in Seattle and has been corresponding with a marine, Sergeant Paul Gordon stationed in Afghanistan, although she is against war. Ruth’s grandmother, Helen Shelton, lives in Cedar Cove, at 5B Poppy Lane, and was married to a soldier, Lieutenant Sam Shelton. When Paul and Ruth meet for the first time, they are very much attracted to each other, but Ruth’s stance against the military and Paul’s dedication to his military career presents them with a dilemma regards their ongoing relationship. When Helen meets Paul, she is reminded of her first husband, Jean-Claude, a resistance fighter in Paris during the war. She decides to tell of her wartime experiences, something she has kept to herself for over sixty years. Helen and Sam’s relationship is echoed in Ruth and Paul’s. A sweet romance. Liberty Hall is the 16th romance story by Lois Faye Dyer. Professor Chloe Abbott is an English lecturer at the University of Washington. Attending a PR event about the donation of equipment for disabled returned servicemen with her grandmother, Winifred Abbott, Chloe meets Jake Morrissey, ex-Marine corps sergeant, now a demolitions expert. They are instantly attracted, and eventually begin seeing each other. Meanwhile, Chloe has the feeling she is being followed, a feeling Jake insists on treating seriously. When a document written in code drops through her mail slot, she enlists Winifred’s help: Winifred worked as a code-breaker with her soldier husband, Richard, during the war. This is a romance with a bit of mystery and action added. A charming romance.The Apple Orchard is the 24th romance story by Katherine Stone. Elizabeth Winslow is engaged to Matthew Blaine and looking forward to her wedding, although perhaps not as much as the mothers who are doing to planning. Just one thing is bothering her: her beloved grandmother, Clara McKenzie, seems convinced that Matthew is not the right man for her. When this proves, painfully, to be true, Elizabeth retreats to Clara’s Oregon farm in the town of Sarah’s Orchard, for the comfort only a grandmother can give. Although someone else is also standing by to give comfort: ex-Lieutenant Commander Nicholas Lawton, having saved Elizabeth once before, when she was too young to remember it, is only too eager to save her again. I thought the back-story for Nick was beautiful: a delightful romance.

Great book! I picked it up as I was reading the Cedar Cove series, but really enjoyed the others. Was my first Lois Faye Dyer book, and I would have to say, out of the three stories I enjoyed it the most. Great read!

Only read the first story in this collection "5-B Popply Lane" as I'm currently reading the Cedar Cove series. It was a heart-warming story of a "war-bride" from World War II and one from today. In typical Debbie Macomber fashion, you feel a connection with the characters and their situation from the beginning of the story.
