A Couple Reasons Why Relationships Fail

1. Question if you like him/her or just like the things they do.

Everyone loves attention. When your other half goes out of their way to bring a smile on your face, it feels great. If they continue it a few more times, you return the favor, and then a relationship forms. The true measure of compatibility occurs shortly after. Once the initial excitement of this attention wears off, what are you left with? Leaves you thinking, Do I really like this person, or do I just enjoy things that they bring to the table? You will have people you like take actions you dislike. Likewise, people you dislike will get your attention by taking actions you do like. You must be capable of distinguishing between the two. Any fish can get hooked if the proper bait is used.

2. You have stability and reliability, but you’re bored.

A lot of relationships formed fail because of boredom. Everyone wants excitement in his or her lives. One of the most exciting things in life is discovering the unknown. Curiosity is what keeps us moving forward, but one must learn to properly hone curiosity. The first part of a relationship is the discovery of your partner’s entire aura. But once you know everything about them, where do you turn for a source of excitement? The answer is quite simple. Discover new things, and create new experiences together. You have to be open-minded to try new things in order to keep stability.

3. You love qualities but get stuck on their flaws.

It’s always easier to destroy than to create. Likewise, it’s easier to be negative than it is to be positive. Many relationships fail because both parties concentrate on their partner’s flaws instead of the qualities they love about them the most. You learn the most about somebody by figuring out their strong points, rather than disputing their weak points. Over time you both can work on your weak points collectively, so be positive, and keep an honest line of communication. Keep in mind that it is impossible to work on the weak points of a relationship if you are incapable of seeing your partner’s strong qualities.

4. Bring past problems in the relationship.

Everyone has hurtful points in their lives that they wished they didn’t have to go through, not realizing everyone isn’t the same. You cannot grow a healthy relationship if you’re stuck in the past. So instead of holding on to the negativity, channel your energy on the positive. Take what you have gone through, and use it as a learning tool to make yourself a better person, and avoid the things that made your past relationship sourer. Most of all, don’t point fingers ’cause you see a repeat of something in your past—not everyone has the same intentions. (Not everyone wants to hurt you.)

5. Lying

Just know for every lie you tell, you have to tell a million more to cover up for that one. If you have to lie in your relationship, you don’t care to be in it, so don’t. Compounding lies isn’t healthy and will destroy a relationship. People tend to lie about little things like age, job, residence, and so on and so forth. So what happens when things end up getting serious and you have lied about all these small things? You’re stuck looking clueless. Now you have to worry about your partner wanting to leave you all over something that you could have just told the truth about. So keep it real with yourself and your partner.

A Little Insight

Keep in mind, not everyone will be compatible with you, but you will never know until you get to know someone. Everyone is made in different shapes, fashions, and forms with a dash of unique individuality. They say a good man is hard to find, but finding a good woman isn’t any easier. We all want that special one to share our lives with. Most of the world is attracted by how a person looks instead of what’s really important, their heart. Don’t get me wrong; looks can be a big part if that’s what you’re into, but it is good to have some kind of attraction whether it be looks, character, humor, or even conversation. Just make sure you don’t limit it to one thing because that will only get you so far. Life has so much more to offer than how someone looks. Looks aren’t always good either, seeing that someone can look like Meagan Good or Jennifer Lopez with an attitude problem or that they can be still carrying past relationship problems.

The dating game has changed in so many different ways. Back when I was younger, a man would pick up a woman from her house at a certain time with flowers in hand. The world has changed, that I know; people meet at certain locations now because no one wants anyone to know where they live. I don’t blame them though, seeing that people are crazy nowadays. There are going to be signs that will come to light before an encounter, but we tend to ignore them for one reason or another. One being that you have been alone so long that you make up excuses to cover up what you might have heard or seen. Things like that only keep a damper on your heart, but when you can nip it in the bud, you can save yourself from wasted time. As long as you keep in your mind that there is someone out there for everyone, you will be just fine. Don’t let a bad date stop or change you in any way, because you don’t want to allow anyone to have that much control over you where they can cloud your judgment. For the simple fact that you never know when your special one is headed your way, the last thing you want to do is scare someone off, especially from something that happened in your past. It was quoted that one bad apple can spoil the bunch, not if you remove it before it causes a chain reaction on the others. Everyone that is placed in your life isn’t there to hurt you. A conversation will definitely tell you a lot about someone—his or her intentions, good or bad. So all you have to do is pay attention.
