    DEDICATION

I would like to dedicate this book to Dorothy Raybon and Willia Conley. It would have been very difficult to make this achievement but with your love offering and spiritual encouragement I was able to publish this book.

    You will not be forgotten.

To my Mom, although you are no longer with us, it’s your teaching and the spiritual discipline that you impose upon each of us every day that gave me the strength and the desire to strive for achievement.

I truly miss and love you.

    BOOK PROFILE

This is a story of a man that seemly has everything going right for him, having worked as a janitor at night and took course during the day. He is now one of the top advertising specialists at his firm; his love for his wife and her daughter, Miracle Dee Ann, as well as the daughter they had together named Ashley is unconditional, and he will do anything for their happiness. He also love his home and his job, but one day due to an unexpected occurrence and his evil persistent mother-in-law, a mother-in-law that have a lot of dislike for James, so much dislike that Willie Mae have tried everything to break James and Vi up, but James and Vi love each other so much that they would ignore Willie Mae’s constant irritating phone calls, however, all of this will changed, for which tested James his faith in God and his will to remain humble.

    THE MAIN PLAYERS

James Coy: A dedicated and faithful father and husband who believes in providing for his family and believes in working hard to have a better future.

Vinita Coy: James’s wife; a faithful mother and wife that believes her family should come first.

Doris Coy: James’s mother; she would often stop by to help as much as she can but with a full-time job, and little bit ill herself, she can only do so much, but she have much love and support for her son.

Decon James Coy: James’s father; he has a lot of sympathy for both James and Vi, and will do whatever he can to assist them.

Thomas Jones: Vinita’s (Vi) father; he does not have very much to say about anything, he just let his wife, Willie Mae, do or say as she pleases even though he knows in most cases that she is wrong.

Willie Mae Jones: Vinita’s (Vi) mother (A reminder of Aunt Esther on Sanford and Son.) She has nothing to do with helping Vi with her daughters, but she will call Vi almost every day, telling her lies about James (Vi’s husband). You see, it was Willie Mae that told Vi that she should not have Dee. Willie Mae also started hatred toward Vi’s husband, James. She is being evil and full of spitefulness.

Denise Jones: Vinita’s sister and Willie Mae’s other daughter. They call her DJ for short. She lives in New York and is a very successful attorney. She is trying to keep both her mother and sister together with love and understanding.

    INTRODUCTION

It has been seventeen years now since Vinita gave birth to an autistic child. She named her Miracle Dee Ann, now seventeen years old. They named her Miracle because the doctors said she would not live past birth. At first, Vi (short for Vinita) seemly was able to handle the situation, but with the tremendous amount of attentiveness that is needed, the demand was too much for her, you know, the constant care that she had to endure with Miracle Dee, not to mention the mood changes that would pop-up out of nowhere. Then there was her other girl named Ashley but they call her little sweet pee, although Ashley try very hard to help when she can, but Vi still had a lot of responsibility to deal with.

James, Vi’s husband is a very hard-working, dedicated, caring provider. He has been with his company for over twelve years and is now one of the top executive of his firm as an advertising specialist. James’s job requires a lot of his time; even when James is home, he tries to help Vi as much as he can. He would takeover in watching Miracle Dee Ann while Vi either get some sleep or take a shower or go shopping with her girl friends maybe to a movie or just rest. Vi’s mother, Willie Mae, did nothing to try and help her, in fact it was Willie Mae who told Vi that having a child that will be born with a birth defect was wrong.

In fact, Willie Mae would call Vi almost every day, but the things that she would say to Vi would have a major impact on her feelings and often leave her feeling even more upset and frustrated than before. Even though Willie Mae is aware of Vi’s heart problem that was created during her pregnancy of Ashley, she still shows no passion for Vi, in fact, it was Vi that stopped her mother from coming to her house.

Vi and James have been married for sixteen years now, and Willie Mae still call Vi, finding something to argue with her concerning James.

It is obvious that Willie Mae have much dislike for James. But why? Why does Willie Mae have so much dislike for a man that is a very good provider for her daughter and the kids, a man that work hard to be a good provider to and for his family?

DJ: Stands for Denise Jones; she is Vi’s sister that is caught between Vi and their mom, Willie Mae, not knowing what to do, but love both of them and would not do anything to hurt either, DJ works for a major law firm in New York City as an attorney.

PERHAPS I SHOULD TAKE YOU TO THE BEGINNING OF THIS STORY.

It was a bright sort of a cool autumn day during the month of October, pretty common for a state like Arkansas, where leaves fall onto the ground and the change in color makes them even more pleasing to admire (you know from green to brown to yellow to orange). Anyway, Vi had scheduled a doctor appointment; it’s 5:00 a.m. Monday, Vi’s alarm clock goes off as she forces herself to get up, feeling very tired and beat. She takes a glance at James as she make her way to the bathroom, then to the kitchen where she proceeds to prepare breakfast, by this time it’s almost 6:00 a.m. Vi then goes and wakes up James, then proceeds to wake up Ashley and Dee, Vi heads back to the kitchen while James takes over the job of getting Ashley and Dee ready for school.

If you remember, I stated earlier that Ashley tries to help as much as she can as well, so Ashley will start to dress herself with the clothes that Vi had left out for her and Dee to wear.

Dee on the other hand has to be watched and made sure that she is properly dressed for school. Ashley finished dressing and asked James if he needed help with Dee.

Hi Dad, do you need any help with Dee?

No, sweetheart, I guess this is one of Dee’s day, you go ahead to breakfast.

    Okay Dad

Dee was giving him a very hard time. After James had finish dressing Dee, he and Dee went to the kitchen to have breakfast. While at breakfast, Ashley asked a question.

Mom can I have an extra fifty cents for school today?

An extra fifty cents for what sweetheart? states Vi.

Well, there are these twins at school and I don’t think they get enough to eat.

And why do you think that Ms. Sweet pee? James asked.

Because I see them putting fruit in their backpack all the time.

As James and Vi look at each other, she pours James a cup of coffee.

Tell you what dear, Vi said, why don’t I pick you up from school today and we can invite them over to have dinner with us and they can study with you.

Hey now! Ashley is excited that will be great.

Well if you are finish eating, let’s go meet your bus.

As Vi put on her coat and give Ashley her coat and as she is leaving, she reminded James to make sure Dee eats her food.

Sweetheart, make sure Dee eats everything, be back in a few minutes.

Okay baby, I will, states James

As Vi and Ashley leave, James picks up a paper and starts to read it as he is also watching Dee. Vi returns and James is now ready to leave for work. Vi asks him about his meeting today.

J, are you ready for your meeting with the Campbell contract?

Am I ready? I am so ready I could dance all the way to work.

Well that would be nice baby, but I prefer that you drive.

Well, maybe I’ll just dance! Out the door.

James began to do a jerking type dance then open the door, and gives Vi a kiss and then states, Hammer time.

As James dances a Hammer move going out the door, Vi looks at James and shakes her head and states the only thing missing with that dance is your Genie Pant’s, then closed the door and turns to Dee and states, Well miss, you finish?

    Yes, Mommie, states Dee.

Well, get your coat and let’s go wait outside for your bus.

Just as Dee grabs her coat, the bus blew its horn, and Vi walked Dee to the bus and made sure the driver had secured Dee and pulled off before she went back into the house to get ready for her doctor’s appointment.

At the doctor’s office, Vi learns that she is pregnant for which she is happy about, but the doctor also advised her that with her heart as bad as it is, this pregnancy maybe very difficult not to mention she may lose her life from it and the baby still may not live. And there are some complications that may develop.

After returning home from the doctor’s office, the phone rings. It’s her mother, Willie Mae, for which Vi is in no mood to talk with. Vi answers the phone.

Vi is speaking very dryly. Oh hi, Mom, how are you?

Well did you go to the doctor’s office today, or did you forget like the last time? states Willie Mae.

No, Mom I did not forget. I did go to the doctor’s office.

    Well, what did he say?

    He said I was pregnant.
