Foreword

Hello again and welcome to Volume Four of Scattered Thoughts which just goes to show you that bad dreams do indeed reoccur.

I would have you know (since last we spoke) that I have been at my duty station diligently preparing these delicious new ditties just for you.

As for the earlier volumes, I can only say that I was younger then and knew little of the ways of this challenging world.

I am older and wiser now, a senior citizen, and a grandfather. I am mellow, there are gray streaks in my hair, and I wear bedroom slippers almost everywhere I go.

I go to afternoon matinees for the price break, eat at restaurants that offer an early bird special, and take long restful naps.

I also own many cardigan sweaters and colorful golf shirts I button at the collar.

Now that you have the picture, I’m sure you’ll envision me to be someone you could trust to keep your children for the three or so hours it might take to get your hair and nails did (or done, whichever you prefer).

And, if you would trust me with your kids, then surely you wouldn’t mind if I
